This divide is caused by two major difficulties:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>difficulty accessing digital tools<\/strong> (PCs, smartphones, tablets) and their infrastructure (internet, broadband, etc.) for socio-economic or geographical reasons,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>a lack of skills to use digital tools<\/strong> (also known as digital illiteracy), which can be a direct consequence of limited access to these tools.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Its Consequences<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a society that is shifting toward fully digital systems, including public services, <strong>the digital divide leads to proven inequalities while also amplifying existing ones<\/strong>.
