SOUTHERN WISE

Truth told plain.

Well hey there, sugar.

Come on in and sit a spell. I've been waiting on you.

You know, all those wise folks — the Stoics in Rome, the Taoists in China, the Buddhists with their quiet knowing, and all those Greek thinkers with their big ideas — they figured out a whole lot about living a good life. The trouble is, sometimes their words got dressed up in language so stiff it'd make your Sunday shoes feel comfortable.

That's not how we do things around here.

I took all that ancient wisdom and put it in words you'd hear on a front porch in the South. The kind of truth your grandma would tell you over sweet tea and biscuits. No fancy talk, no airs. Just good sense served up plain, with a little comfort on the side.

Because here's what I know — wisdom doesn't do a lick of good sitting in some dusty old book. It has to get into your heart and your head. It has to help you through the hard days and remind you what matters on the good ones.

So pull up a chair. Stay awhile. And if something speaks to you, don't keep it to yourself — pass it along. That's how the good stuff spreads.
