Livejournal appears now to officially be infected by DA PUTIN.
True to form for an economy, where their best and brightest computer nerds are busy creating spambots for tabloid news and engaging in h4ck sc1pt k1dd3s type shit, instead of actually doing something productive... it looks like, not only do you have to agree to some shady TOS thingy, the "friends" feed of journals past is now empty before April.
I find having a place that is "off the mainstream web" fairly useful, personally (my attitude is similar with Facebook, I'm only letting Mark Zuckerberg & co. apply their creepy advertising ML algorithms to my vacation pics for now :) ). This place is now unfortunately mainstream Russian. With all that entails.
So, this is the last entry, unfortunately, here. Both Crystal and I are joining the migration to Dreamwidth. Our journals are backed up to local hard drives by LJArchive (https://sourceforge.net/projects/ljarchive/) so no matter what DA PUTIN does, the time of this era is still preserved.
