Drabble Entry!
Characters: Cho Chang, her owl, Cedric Diggory
Warnings: Drug Use, Suicide
Notes: I would assume everyone knows that coke is slang for cocaine. And I'm assuming that the plural of thestral counts. ♥
Neither Cho Chang nor Cedric Diggory were casualties of the war, though Cedric only wasn't by the technicality of when the 'war' started. Supposedly it had begun at the start of Harry Potter's seventh year of school. Cho, however, was a casualty of a broken heart. No one had realized until after the war was over how much she had loved Cedric, not even herself. Not until after the dust had settled, not until after it was a rare student that did not see the thestrals pulling the carriages did she realize. And the worst part of it all was that, even then, no one else noticed. She tried to forget Cedric in firewhiskey, and when that no longer worked, she moved to drugs, moving through many, even heroin and coke, but not even that worked in the end. She sent her beloved owl along ahead of herself, perhaps to make sure she could perform the spell properly, perhaps to keep herself company. She cried when the bird died, and she buried it beneath a willow tree. She returned inside, one last walkthrough of her parents' home before it was over. Everything was in order, even the elegant note settled on her bed. She ran her fingers over the music box on her vanity, a gift from Cedric, and smiled. She aimed her wand at the mirror, and let the green light engulf herself. "Avada kedavra."
