Hullo everyone!
Prefect here, with some updates and announcements.

There has been no Sorting Hat Weekly, probably due to the fact that all contests have ended and the Headmistress is counting up all the points. Expect a full update on that, next week, I guess.

Whenever you need to go on a Hiatus, DON'T FORGET to go over to the Ministry of Magic. Announce it there, and give us an idea of how long you'll be away!

Now, for the reason I made this post public.
About a week ago, the Headmistress requested all members to fill a certain 2-second poll, warning that those who didn't do it would be removed from the community. It's sad to announce that about half of the Hufflepuffs have been removed, including some that use to be such active and wonderful Puffs. I'm very sadened by this. Might be good for a fresh start and getting new blood, but it's still rather dissapointing to loose so many.

So, if you come back and find yourself unable to see posts or to post yourself, that might be the reason why.
Keep in mind, if you wish to be kept, despite not doing what was requested, you must go over to the Ministry or directly to the Headmistress. Either way, you'll have to deal with her, so I advise you to take it up to Nichole, promply. She'll be expecting good convincing strategies, and probably some begging.

Also, I was wondering, what do you all think of a chat, say, this weekend? Maybe Friday/Saturday evening/afternoon? Give me your opinion on times that would work for all timezones, and your preference--MSN or AIM. If needed, I'll host simultaneous chats on both messengers.

Hey, I'm still here...RL is kicking me in the nuts right now....I'm for too busy for having (supposedly) fewer responsibilities. Once I get back to school and have nothing to do until classes start (except to avoid the heat and pretend like I have air conditioning) I'll be on this thing like whoah.

Tacha- I've stuff to do tomorrow, and then work from 4-close (12-ish), so maybe wednesday sometime? if email is faster for you, i check this one a lot: ktheisz@ycp.edu.

Last I checked the puffs were in the lead! Go us!! I recently acquired Photoshop CS and am currently trying to figure it out...so yay for graphic goodness!

Also, it's pretty much the first time I've actually tried to seriously draw something without looking at anything (instead of just random doodles)... so go easy on me. @_@

Harry at the Yule Ball (yeah I know he's wearing normal clothes, but I didn't dare try and draw him some dress robes). I was also too lazy to erase the lines from the notebook paper... need to remember to use normal paper next time. Haha

Why you love HP so much: They're so easy to get into, and they encourage kids not only to read, but to learn no. The museum I volunteer at recently ran a Harry Potter themed day. The tours were oversubscribed and the atmosphere was wonderful.

The Barnes & Noble in which I work is hosting a HBP par-tay on Friday, and after some consideration I've decided to put together a more dress-casual version of the Hogwarts school uniform. White shirt, gryff tie, grey skirt, cute but comfortable shoes (on the schedule it says 7pm-? next to my name...i'm gonna be there for a while). I only have the shoes and the tie. The shirt I can find. The grey skirt, however, is proving to be a problem. Naturally I'm doing this at the last minute, so ordering is not an option (also kind of low on funds). Does anyone know of a store that carries a good variety of skirts? Gap used to have a lot and even had a grey one i think, but none of the ones near me have it in stock anymore. I haven't seen much from Macy's or JCPenny. I haven't tried Nordstrom yet. Any suggestions?

also, any other costume ideas? i know we've talked about this before, but seeing as the release is rapidly approaching I figured I'd be nosy and ask if anyone was going to a party and if they were dressing up.

Wow, I can't believe it's that soon already. Lucky for me I've managed not to think about it too much, until now. But now I'm starting to get angsty, haha. I have it pre-ordered on Amazon, and it better get here on the release day! We should all make a pact not to discuss it for at least a week on here. Haha, I trust everyone to do spoiler warnings and stuff, but since I am not the fastest reader (will probably take me around week), I don't wanna be left out of the discussion! :( I like the idea anyway. @_@

Summery: What would you give? This is so AU, but takes place sometime during the seventh year.

Playing catch up

Snape was fuming once again; he knew Potter had ‘Obliviated’ him and the others. The paintings were all too happy to confirm it. He had left Dumbledore’s office feeling tenser than ever. His conversation with the Headmaster had left him without any useful knowledge, and the paintings were adamant about what they had heard. It just left Snape with more questions. He needed to get some answers and he knew there was only one person who could give them to him.

Ron wandered back to the common room after sneaking out on the shouting match that had ensued between Snape and Dumbledore. Confusion was all that Ron felt. The paintings had prattled on and on about this spell Harry had cast. It seems no one had ever heard of it, yet it was cast on Dumbledore. Was Harry going evil? Ron couldn’t figure out what else it could be, he just couldn’t see a reason for Harry to behave this way other than that.

Making his way over to Hermione, who, as normal, was studying, she glanced up as he sat down. “So what happened?” Her curiosity had her closing her book and turning toward him.

“Well, Hermione, let me put it this way, I don’t know what happened.” Ron’s voice was tired.

“What? How? What do you mean you don’t know you were there for three hours?!” Hermione was confused now too.

“Well, we were in there and suddenly the paintings were all talking at once…yelling about Harry and how cast this spell. I just…” Ron closed his eyes, expelling a hard breath as he threw his head back against the couch. “I just think Harry might be evil now.”

Hermione gasped, “Ron, Harry might be acting off, but evil??? I don’t think…”

Ginny walked up and cut Hermione off “How could he not be evil? He was kissing Draco Malfoy?” She spit out. “Draco could have him under a spell, I suppose, but seriously, why else would he kiss him?”

Hermione narrowed her eyes at Ginny; she just refused to believe Harry was evil. Under a spell maybe, but evil? No.

Hermione went to counter Ginny’s words, but she found herself compelled to look Ginny in the eye, as she did Hermione felt her will drain away. Her thoughts were no longer her own. Words flashed through her mind, she felt herself rebelling as Ginny forced her desires and will upon Hermione. Before she could do any more, she found herself speaking “You know, Ginny, I think you might be right. Draco MUST be influencing Harry”. Hermione wanted to scream, but she was trapped by her mind, which she prised so much, and was now her prison.

Draco stretched. His body was sore in places he hadn’t thought possible, granted it was a nice kind of sore. Especially when he thought of all the wonderful things Harry had done to him, and he in return had done to Harry. He had never felt quite so wonderful, yet at the same time he was more afraid than he would ever care to admit.

Harry was different; he was not really the Harry he knew last week. This was a different Harry, one who was more powerful and had his own agenda, and Draco was behind most of said agenda. After all most of Harry’s purpose was to keep him alive. Draco just really wasn’t fond of the fact he had died or the reason behind it. He needed to figure out what to do, without losing Harry. Harry’s temper was a formidable thing, and truthfully, it wasn’t something Draco wanted to incite. This Harry had a temper to match Lucius; Draco instantly wanted to stop that train of thought, but somehow he couldn’t. Was Harry angry enough to become as bad as his father or Voldemort?

Draco shook that thought from his brain, this was Harry. He could never be like that, no matter what happened to him. Besides, he refused to let Harry degenerate that far. For the first time in his life Draco wondered if he was capable of handling things on his own.

Harry was happy; truly happy as he stretched and yawned. It was the first thing he felt this morning. He looked over at Draco who was lying next to him and smiled. Draco had his arm thrown over his face and Harry reached out to trail his fingers down the arm. He watched goose bumps follow the path his fingers took. Draco smiled as the fingers reached his chest and slowly put his arm down.

“Good morning, lover.” Draco’s voice was husky with sleep as he spoke.

“I love how that sounds. ’Lover’, I haven’t heard it in so long.” Harry leaned over to press a soft almost chaste kiss to Draco’s lips.

“Harry, I need to ask you about that. Are you really older than me or do you just have the memories from that life? I am not sure I understand how the spell worked. Are you really and truly the same age as me or are you still a few years older than me?” Draco frowned as he spoke; concern and irritation seeped into his voice.

Harry ran his hand across Draco’s forehead pushing back the hair hanging near his eyes. “I am not really sure, Draco. I am ashamed to admit that Professor Snape knew much more than I did when it came to the spell and potion I used. I turned twenty-five just before the journal was found, but right now I feel like I’m 17 again. If you think it would be wise, we could go get the journal.” Harry was still fingering Draco’s hair as he spoke.

Draco sighed, “I think it’s a good idea, Harry. We really need to know what we are dealing with. Don’t you agree?”

“I guess you are right about that. We do need to know what might happen. You know, Draco, anything you could ever want or need, I will do for you.” Harry smiled a sly little smile. Draco’s breath caught in his throat, he loved Harry’s smile.

“Anything? “

“Anything.” Harry repeated sliding his hand toward Draco’s groin. “Merlin knows, I have already crossed time for you…what more can you ask for?” he asked with an evil grin.

Draco‘s voice hitched, “We can always look for the book later.” He gasped as Harry’s hand reached its target. “Much later…” his words trailing off as Harry covered Draco’s lips with his own.

Your own website: Meh. I don't really have one...other than that one.
Interests other than HP: Band, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, being a general dork, playing with my lightsaber (it changes colors. so amazingly cool, dude.)..umm...what else? I'm an avid fan of Iron Chef.

Why you love HP so much: It's just easy to get into the stories.. ::shrug:: I like em. ::nod::

Plans for life: Up until recently, I had no idea what I wanted to do. Well, career-wise, that is. I want to be a physical therapist. I injured my knee pretty badly a few months ago..but the physical therapists got me back to normal. It'd be pretty cool to be able to help people like that. Other than that? I'd like to have a family. And I plan to still be able to act like a little boy, even if I am a grown woman. Still play with action figures..and lightsabers..and the like.
