3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your
favorite?

Yes, I have read all six of the books, and it really irritates me when I
meet people in the fandom that havent. You know the type. "ZoMg I <3LOVE<3
Harry Potter! Dan is soooooooo HAWT! Lyke, Im gonna marry him!!!" And then
I'm all Oh, really? Which is your favorite book? And they're all like,
What books are you talking about? And then I want to stab them in the
eyeball

My favorite book. Hmm, this part of the question is bit more
challenging, I must admit. There's so much that I love about each and every
one of them. There are parts that I hate about each one of them. Like
JKRs refusal to be slashy for once. Come on, woman! Alright, alright,
if I must choose *contemplates* *thinks*... *chews on lip* *rereads them
all once more to be sure* Okay. Book Two. Harry Potter and the Chamber of
Secrets. Book two is my favorite for several reasons. First, it's pretty
concise. While I love the longer books for the fact that they keep me
entertained longer, one must admit that JKR tends to ramble a bit more
towards the middle/end of the series. I like CoS because a lot happens in a
short book, which makes reading it really really fun, because the action
seems to never stop. I also really like the comic relief of Professor
Lockhart. That arrogant jerk was so easy to hate, and he just really shines
out to me as one of the funniest characters in the series. Another reason
that I think I'm so in love with the Chamber of Secrets is because I
absolutely love bratty twelve-year-old Draco, and so I like getting
to see him in his natural habitat in this book. Last but not least, I love
the concept of the Chamber of Secrets. That is just so cool in my head to
have a huge underground Chamber that is all your own. Not even your three
closest friends know of its existence. How awesome would it be to have
something like that? And then to put a snake in it that only you can
control? It's like, loyal pet x 100000000. NTM, nice place for parselkink
play, anyone?

4. Which house qualities do you value most?

Each house really has qualities that I value a lot. They may not be values
that I always show in myself - though I may wish I did but they are still
qualities that I see and value in other people.

The Hufflepuffs sense of acceptance is definitely something that I really
admire. I think intolerance is despicable. I can not stand to see people
shunned on the basis of belief, religion, color, sexuality, etc. Everyone is
their own person, and the Hufflepuffs tend to see that and accept and love
people no matter what. I value that quality of Hufflepuff more than any
other value of the house, though all are respectable.

The Ravenclaws sense of intelligence is definitely one of my most valued
qualities. I'm very, very, very annoyed by stupidity. I'm not even going to
start a rant about that, because we'd be here all day. Just take my word for
it, okay? Intelligent people are the people that I choose to converse with
as often as possible, because they always have something to offer me.
Conversation also flows easier with the intelligent, because they actually
know what they are speaking about. They have things to talk about besides
the weather and sports. Intelligence is a very important quality to
me. Though, as I said before, the other qualities of the house are great
too.

Gryffindor. Oh, theres so much to say about Gryffindor, isn't there? As our
whole story circles around three lovely scarlet-clad kids? I must say my
most valued Gryff quality is their tendency to always fight for their
beliefs. They're some stubborn people when they want to be, and that is very
very important. I'm seriously one of the most opinionated people I know of.
I believe so strongly about certain things, and I will argue them to the
death. Not to say that I don't respect other peoples opinions but thats
not the point of this. Anyways, I really respect that Gryffindors are so
strong in their beliefs and that they always fight for what they want or for
what they think is right. I wish more people had that quality.

And finally, we have Slytherin. I have to say that I most value the
Slytherin's slyness. The ability to perfect a mask is so vitally important,
I think. To hold a second face and to wear it perfectly is a hugely
difficult task to achieve, but holds so many advantages for anyone who can
pull it off. And while anyone can tell you it sucks to be the person
deceived by the mask, sometimes, a person has to do what he has to do.
Thats life. In the end, it really is survival of the fittest.

5. What are your pet peeves?

Stupidity is a big one. I will not rant. I promise. But I don't like
stupidity. People who can't think for themselves are another huge pet peeve
of mine, and this kind of falls under stupidity. Yet it also goes along with
not having a back bone. I hate trends, and I hate that so many people follow
trends. So thats a really big pet peeve of mine.
Another pet peeve of mine is when people ask me Whats wrong? all the
time. Im not really all that social. I tend to seem angry a lot. Not that I
am. I just seem that way. I'm actually a pretty happy person. But I don't
really want to waste my time talking to my classmates, so they think I'm
really angry. And people always feel the need to ask me whats wrong? It
just really bugs me.

Also, I hate when people come up to me when Im writing/reading/typing/etc.
and start talking to me, and then get mad when I dont pay them any
attention. Pfft, hello? I was busy. I'm not going to drop everything to
listen to you. Give me a second to finish the sentence I'm on, and then
well talk.

6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The
animal chooses you, you dont choose it.)

Id be a niffler because I like shiny things!

Haha, just kidding. Im honestly having a lot of trouble with this question.
I dont really have any clue what my animagus would be. But after
pondering it, I think I'd be a cobra. I say this because cobras strike
quickly, and I tend to do that as well. I have a sharp tongue, and I snap at
people all of the time. Even if I do plan something out, its always planned
to be executed very suddenly, so it seems to be a quick strike. I lay low
and wait until there is a need to strike, but when I get angry, I definitely
flare up and I will definitely bite. *hiss*

7. What shape would your Boggart take? (Remember: Your Boggart takes the
shape of the thing that you fear the most.)

At this point in my life, my Boggart would be an image of myself pregnant, I
think, because that would symbolize me getting tied down. Im graduating
very soon, and I see this as a point in my life where I finally get to be
free. I get to fly away and live my own life for a while, away from my
parents and my friends who have come to expect certain things of me. For
now, my biggest fear is getting stuck here and being held back. I can't even
stand the thought of home any more, because it feel so stifling. They is so
much that I want to experience so much that this world has to offer and
I want to see it. I want to achieve as much as I can, and I can't do that
being stuck in my hometown.

8. What do you worry about the most and why? (Note: This is not the same
thing that your Boggart becomes. Your biggest fear and your biggest worry
are two different things.)

I worry most about living up to expectations. People, especially my parents,
expect so much out of me. I'm expected to live up to the standards they have
set for me, and I always worry about fulfilling them. I have to keep up at
school. I have to keep up with my clubs. I have to be good at this. I have
be better at this. I have to get this accomplished. I have to fulfill this
goal. And I just worry about letting down everyone because I dont always
know if I can handle it all. But I suppose I've made it this far, so maybe I
should stop worrying so much.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?

Yes, because it seems that it would be an incredible way to prove my skills.
If I'm going to go to Wizarding school and learn a ton of cool magical
skills, why not try to enter a competition and prove myself. It's really a
way to see what you know and what you don't, to test your ability to work
under pressure. And there's always the chance at a great prize. So I dont
why I wouldnt enter it.

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and
when would you use it?

My tongue is the greatest weapon that I possess. My tongue allows me to take
on many shapes, always quick to conform to exactly what I need. I can be
funny and charming. I can be quick witted and sarcastic. I can be serious
and informative. My speech is always changing to fit my masks. I can strike
up conversation and hold it with just about anyone on any topic. I can shoot
out quick responses to any argument or insult. I can be the one providing
the argument or insult. My tongue is my greatest weapon, and I use it all
the time, in every aspect of my life.

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect?

Yes. I have a power thing. I like to have authority over others. I also like
to have my opinions heard, and prefects, I think, would have their's heard
more than a standard student, as they've proven themselves worthy of
respect. And, of course, prefects get to stay out past curfew to patrol the
corridors. That would be cool!

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a
quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess?

I admire who act on their desires. I seriously hate to hear people whine
about what they want, but then never see them try to actually achieve
anything. We all have desires and goals. But you cant expect everything you
want to be handed to you on a platter. Everyone has to get out their and
find a way to get what they want. You have to work for it. You have to take
it. You have to grab life by the handles and not let go, or else you're
going to miss the ride.

The people that I surround myself with tend to be like this. They are all
extremely willing to get out there and get what they want. They realize that
they will never be happy if they just wait for opportunities to come to
them.

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess?
Why do you feel this way?

The worst quality I believe anyone can possess is the inability to know when
to shut ones mouth. Honestly, I don't want to know anyones life
story. Sometimes, I dont even care to hear a word from certain people, and
I'm usually pretty blunt about this, but still people seem to want to talk
to me. Also, many people feel the need to announce their opinions without
any ability to defend their beliefs. This is when one should place ones
foot in his mouth and stay out of my conversation. Finally, some people just
give out too much information and end up hurting themselves or others they
are involved with. Knowing when to speak and how much to say is a great
quality to possess, but failing to have this ability is seriously
detrimental.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you
see?

If we all knew exactly what would make us happy, then I think more of us
would be. Thus, I have a hard time answering this. I dont really know what
would make me happy. I'm finicky and can be very difficult to please.
Cliched, I know, but I do want to find love. I want to find a guy that is my
best friend and understands and loves me despite all of my quirks and flaws.
I also want to see myself as an experienced person. Life has SO many
exciting opportunities to offer, and I want to experience things. I want to
live spontaneously and get my hands dirty. I dont want to live a boring,
stereotypical life. I dont want to be tied down with kids and a 9 - 5 job.
Right now, I think if I were to look in the Mirror of Erised, I think I
would see myself with a sexy, musical guy, wearing a pair of ripped jeans
and a t-shirt, holding a suitcase, my sidekick, and a pair of plane tickets
to New Zealand or Australia. I want to get away from home and experience
something.

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they
have that are important to you? Why are they your friends?

I have two true friends. One of those is my mother, the other is the guy
that has been there for me through each and every hardship I've faced since
I met him. They are my friends because they can make me smile when I'm in
the worst of moods, yet they know when to just let me sulk. They are my
friends because I trust them with everything. They are my friends because
they deal with my mood swings, and love me despite the fact that I sometimes
say really mean things to them.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?

While I thoroughly disagree with Voldemorts motivation; overall, I respect
him. He's truly an evil genius. His determination to achieve his ends has
driven him to some of the most truly amazing feats. His work with horcruxes?
Truly the work of a genius. His ability to persuade anyone to his side? He
must be quite the charming man. He knows his strengths, and he uses them. He
knows his weaknesses, and he reinforces them. He's achieved most of his
goals. His one lasting predicament, a boy we know as Harry, has eluded him
only with the help of many others and many lucky incidences of chance. His
callousness is morally despicable, yet still, I feel I must respect him for
having thorough control on his conscience. I could never be Voldemort,
because Im not mentally strong enough.

17. What do you think are your main 3 characteristics?

My most prominent characteristic is one of duality. I have different
personalities that go with my moods, and I have the ability to fit in with
just about any type of person if I want to. I can be a very removed, quiet
person, and half an hour later, Im the most outgoing, social person youve
ever seen. Sometimes I'm so emotional I just want to curl into bed and cry,
and sometimes I scare myself, because I feel like I have no emotions.
Sometimes I'm warm and loving, and then later I can be cold and callous.
Normally my changes are deliberate, but sometimes they arent. I can fit it
with the cheerleaders, the Goths, the intellectuals, the stoners anyone
really.

Another one of my strong characteristics is my sense of determination, I
think. I'm so stubborn at times, because I refuse to give up and admit
defeat. I'm someone who always finds a means to accomplish my ends, given
that I actually care to. Quitting is admitting failure, and I refuse to
fail.

A third characteristic I show would be a tendency to be apathetic at times.
If something is expected of me that I have no desire to achieve, Im so lazy
and unfocused. I procrastinate on homework and projects a lot because I
dont see the gain I'm going to gain from them. I get things done, because
I'd be screwed if I didnt, but my apathy just makes things take a while
sometimes.

18. What house do you feel you belong in? Well, I think I may have an
idea, but Id rather not say here.

19. "Blood or water" - Which is more important; friends or family?

Friends are more important than family. I dont feel that blood links me to
anyone, because I think the concept of family is overrated. My close
family are my friends anyways, but I'm sorry, I dont really give a hoot
about old great uncles and creepy third cousins just because we come from
the same family tree. Dont get me wrong, I'm fiercely protective of my
mother/father/brother/others in my family. But my defensiveness stems from
my view of those same people as friends.

You get a choice in who your friends are, but your family is forced on you.
It's definitely friends all the way for me.

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite? Yes, I’ve read all of the books, and I can’t really say what my favourite is… But I’ll try.

First is Goblet of Fire, I really loved that book since the second I read the first page, I loved the fact that they introduced relationships and some different characters, and made everyone a little more on edge, believable considering what they’re up against.

Ron and Harry’s fight was just perfect, It gave them the real best friend type of relationship, and couldn’t have come at a better time. Cedric dying just gave Harry this huge shock, that people could actually die and there would be losses. It was an important scene and it made the book for me.

But, Order of the Phoenix, tops even that book, it was darker and more realistic, if that makes sense, the first chapter, was one of my favourites, and I’m not sure why, but the fact that Harry was out of the loop and left wondering and feeling forgotten was something that I can really relate too.

But what hit me most about that book was Sirius dying, and worse then that, dying with the laughter still in his face, in his eyes. Harry’s never going to be the same, and him yelling at Dumbeldore made him so much more human and really sealed the deal with my obsession.

4. Which house qualities do you value most?

I value the Cunning of the Slytherins, the fact that they will do anything and everything to achieve their goals is something I really admire.

I value their intelligence, not all of them are, but most of them and it’s really apparent, Draco proves his worth in book six and I have this feeling that Pansy isn’t as stupid as she appears. They’re smart in the sense that they aren’t going to run off and get themselves killed if they can help it, they keep a calm front and if they see dangerous situation they will find a way around it, and not barging straight through it.

But, I’m going to have to say, although I value those qualities, I really admire Gryffindor for tackling things head on, not wasting time to think about stupid things and just take life by the seat of their pants.

It’s contradicting but that’s what I value.

5. What are your pet peeves? People who say one thing and do another (I’m guilty of it too) I really hate hypocrites, and people who act so nice to a person yet hate them. I think if you hate someone, let them know, don’t walk around in circles pretending to like them when all you want to do is hit them over the head with an abnormally large book.

6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The animal chooses you, you don’t choose it.) If I could choose I would choose a wolf, because I really feel as if they are the spirit of life… Their eyes are so human, they protect with everything they have.. They don’t give in or give up. They understand most things better then humans and I really find that amazing. I’ve always felt a great love for wolves, their beauty in everything they do, in tenderness or when they’re ripping something to shreds they still manage to look like the most dangerous and beautiful creatures on earth.

7. What shape would your Boggart take? (Remember: Your Boggart takes the shape of the thing that you fear the most.) I really had to think about this, because while I fear quite a few things, I’m not sure how they would take shape.

One I fear being forgotten, being left with not a single person to care… So I might see a grave with my name on it, and that’s it, no Rest in Peace, no little words …no date… just a piece of wood with my name scrawled on the side.

But I think, if it wanted to terrify me and not just make me bawl my bloody eyes out it would have to turn into someone I loved…. Someone who I love very much, and they’d look at me with disgust and hatred.

8. What do you worry about the most and why? (Note: This is not the same thing that your Boggart becomes. Your biggest fear and your biggest worry are two different things.) I think I said this best before, I worry so much about being forgotten, no one caring who I am, or what I’ve done. No one ever hearing the things I’ve learned.

People forgetting me as if I never existed, I don’t thrive on attention so much, but if people were to forget me all together or never seeing me.. I’m constantly worrying that I’ll wake up one morning and everyone will walk away from me, not knowing who I am.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire? Yes I would, without a second thought. I love being challenged, I love using the things I know and my experiences and doing something amazing. Something daring… I’d love the adrenaline rush if I was chosen and so I’d put my name in there in a minute.

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it? The greatest weapon I posses? Man these are some good thought provoking questions. Well, I think, my imagination… It’s not always a happy bright imagination, I see the worst things, I have the most vivid nightmares, and I think that it would be a great weapon to have. It means I wouldn’t underestimate anyone because I’ve already imagined anything they could do, I’ve already weighed out the worst that could happen, or the best that could happen.

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect? Yes and No. I’d like to be in a position of power above others, being able to do and say things that the others would look up to, listen too. But I doubt I could handle the responsibility. I think I would be alright with the position, but… well, I also think that I’d make a fool of myself and I’m the best role model.

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess? Honor. If people don’t have a sense of honor then trust and loyalty can be given away easily, but if you are an honorable person, then you’re going to think twice about deserting your friends, you’re going to think twice about spreading a rumor, or putting them in danger etc.. I’m not saying I’m particularly honorable. Because honestly, I’m not, but I really admire those who are and a lot of my friends, in fact most of them have that quality.

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way? I can’t really say, because I’m guilty of most of them and therefore don’t want to say them…

I suppose…Complete trusting? Sounds paranoid… and I’m not sure if this is the best answer, but I think if you are completely trusting then you’ll be really vulnerable, open to hurt and the like.. some people can deal with being completely trusting and they have great lives, but I guess, I don’t like that quality in people because.. I don’t know, I guess, it leaves them open to hurt and I don’t like seeing other people suffer.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
Good lord this was the hardest question so far… I honestly had no idea at first but I’d be lying through my teeth if I said ‘I’d see myself as I am now’

I’d see… Myself, (obviously) but without all the imperfections, I’m very plain compared to my sister and while it’s not that huge of a deal, it still gets to me sometimes so I’d just have nice skin and nicer hair. I’d be standing with my head up high, instead of hunched over, and I’d be signing my first published book, and someone would be handing me a fan fiction they wrote about my work for me to read…

Truly though? I think I’d see myself standing on top of Mount Everest with the hugest grin on my face, and my toes and fingers nearly about to fall off and my hair (short and manageable) would be whipping around my face, I’d be holding my goggles and screaming out with happiness, stamping a flag in the ground with my name on it and just screaming because I made it to the top.

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends?

I consider very few people to be and I don’t mean it in any offence to those who I call my friends these days, but I really don’t consider that many to be my real true friends.

Those that are, are usually very different from me, they have different interests, different dreams. So far it seems I pick people who are a good deal louder then me, and always up for trouble and pranks, someone who I can impress upon and then stand back and watch the fireworks. I love these types of partner ships. I get along famously with these few people and I’ve yet to have an argument that’s separated us, if we do fight we do it with a smile, agree to disagree and move on, joking about it…

They listen when I need them to, they talk when I need them too, they keep my mind of things I don’t want to think about and they don’t ask awkward questions.. They’re usually very quirky and love fun.

I consider these people true friends because I know I’d do anything for them, and they’d do the same for me, because we’ve been through a lot together… If one goes down the other goes with them… It’s always that way with my truest, closest friends.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?

Some people I’ve spoken with think that he’s misunderstood, and that it’s his childhood etc.. I find him to be utterly repulsive, if only for the one reason, and that’s because he had Cedric killed and I was really rather fond of Cedric.

I don’t really agree with his ideals, and while I see sense and lots of logic, agreeing with him on the way he’s run his own ‘troops’ so to speak, and I really think that he’s smart in the way that he’s not latched on to people and doesn’t bother himself with people so much.

He has a goal and he’s doing everything he can to reach that goal, and in that sense I see him as a person and not an evil lord, but somewhere along the way he lost his humanity.

While his plan for no emotional attachment was working rather well, it’s becoming just as blowing to him as everything else. It’s as much a liability as Harry… Whereas Harry has people who will stick up for him because of love, not because they are afraid, Voldemort will be find that if his followers, although not all of them, or even most of them, but it’s possible that if offered safety from him, if given another option if shown what exactly he is capable of doing to them and what can be done to save them – if the fear was gone he’d be left with nothing, and on his own while powerful, he isn’t as dangerous as his death eaters.

If he did however, create a relationship with someone, however strong, I think he’d be much more powerful and he’d have a better understanding…. Making him far more deadly..
Just something I’ve been thinking about Voldermort and I think it qualify’s.

17. What do you think are your main 3 characteristics?

I’m not sure what word I’d use to describe them exactly but I think I’ll go with these three for now.
1. If I care about something, I do everything I can for that something, anything I can do, but it doesn’t just boil down to people, it’s everything, if I care I put everything into it so Passionate is my first characteristic
2. Right, I’m going to be honest and say, Obsessive, Possessive, to an extreme…I’m going to say they’re the one characteristic because they are so similar.
3. I’m going to go with Demanding self explanatory I’d hope.

18. What house do you feel you belong in? I don’t know really. I really find that I fit in with most of them, some more then others but I honestly think, that despite me loving Hufflpuff, or Ravenclaw. Ravenclaw is one of the better houses in my opinion, but I doubt that I would really be able to say that I carry all or most of the traits, perhaps one or two.

When I was comparing the houses in an essay I felt that I had quite a few Slytherin traits, although I’m not sure if they come across well on the internet, and a few Gryffindor… but I can’t pin point exactly, so I’m leaving up to the talented people here.

19. "Blood or water" - Which is more important; friends or family? I can’t answer this… Only because of my family. It makes the question a tad hard for me to answer, because those in my family who are not judgmental racist pigs, I happen to care very much for and would put them before my friends… most of my friends. Confusing question.

Alright goes like this; Non immediate family are substituted for my actual family, so therefore, I’d say blood, because I’d do anything for them, I may not know them very well, but they are family and therefore priority. My friends have their own families to take care of them. And my actual family can grow up before I even consider counting them as blood related.

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favourite?
What kind of insane question is this? Of course I have read all of the 6 books, love them like family. Choosing a favourite poses a major problem however, considering I love them all like family its hard to pick which member you like more. All jokes aside, I would have to say HBP, I just found it fabulous. Loved every minute of it. JK’s style of writing is just –ahhh amazing, no other word for it.

4. Which house qualities do you value most?
Determination, I can’t stand it when people sit and do nothing with their lives, because they have to wait for others to make decisions for them. Intelligence is another important quality. I enjoy talking to people who are educated, for they are interesting and have an understanding of certain topics. Honesty and patience, are important to me. I’m fairly impatient but really value my patient friends. =)

5. What are your pet peeves?
Err, snoring. I will never be able to understand why, but I just can’t stand the noise. It also stops others from sleeping..which is never good. I also dislike know-it-all’s, people who no matter what you say will correct you just for the hell of it. *punts them*

6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The animal chooses you, you don’t choose it.)
*Thinks of animal*. I’d probably be a tiger cub. Cub’s still have that childhood creativity, and carefree life, but also have to be aggressive, and smart in their predominantly adult world. I’ve been to the zoo and seen the little tiger cubs “play fighting” with each other, and it was the exact image of my sister and I *sigh*. They have the ability to be playful, yet can get angry when it comes to close friends or family, I believe that is what describes me the best.

Clowns. Who ever invented them, deserves to be shot, or have their Boggart follow them around 24/7! What started out as childhood “nervous-ness” (I blame the movie IT, and that one dancing clown at the circus but they are just so scary) has evolved into fear. Ahhh, even thinking about them gives me the heebie-jeebies. Scary little buttons that squirt water, red noses, and really big shoes. *hides*
On a more serious side, I’m not really afraid of things like bugs, or the dark. However the thought of being alone for the rest of my life, miles away from anybody, gives me the shivers.

8. What do you worry about the most and why? (Note: This is not the same thing that your Boggart becomes. Your biggest fear and your biggest worry are two different things.)
I worry about not living up to my own expectations, and disappointing my father who has only the highest hopes for me. I know he only means well, but sometimes he pushes a little bit too hard, and I end up making him upset. Growing up I lived with only my father, and he always set high standards for me. Being much older now, I believe that has carried through. I worry about what he might think about me, if I don’t succeed. Its silly really, but still stayed with me all these years.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?
Hell yes! I love challenges, things that push myself to the limit. If I was chosen for the tournament, I would definitely give it 110%. However it is important for others to know that I wouldn’t put my name in to seem “brave, or to look impressive.” It would simply be a chance to show everyone what I am made off, but mostly it would be to prove something to myself.

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it?
I’ve been told that I have the power to make people do what I want them too. I know that sounds evil, but I can’t help it! I don’t use it too often, only when I believe someone is making a mistake that could hurt themselves and others. I believe that when faced with a difficult situation, intelligence would save the day. Sure strength and bravery are important when trying to defend yourself, but I believe I could underestimate my adversary without resorting to violence.

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect?
Yes, in some situations. It sounds shallow but I believe that in the back of everyone’s mind we all dream of being a prefect, even for one day. I think that I would make an mediocre prefect. I believe it depends on my mood for that day. A prefect needs to be in control all of the time. Not only in control of themselves, but of others too. Some days, I’m very “uncontrollable” and I feel that on such days Kim and prefect should not be in the same sentence. Hehe.

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess?
Personalities. People who when they walk into a room make a statement. People who know how to make others laugh and feel comfortable around them. I can’t imagine a world full of boring people *hides*.. I would not want to live in a world like that. I believe that the way I act reflects on my choice of friends, and vice versa. I’m a very talkative and fun person, but I have a serious side. I know when something is to be taken seriously, yet I also know when its okay to laugh something off. My friends are very similar to me, which is why we all get along so well.

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way?
Vanity. Self centred, conceded people are just- not cool. I will never understand how someone can judge others on what they look like, and decide what type of person they are. How if someone is gay, they are not worthy of being spoken to. I cannot stand people who talk down to others like they are the “Queen Bee”. It irritates me to no end. If people would just stop and take the time to get to know someone they would probably be surprised that there is more to people than just looks.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
A confident women living a happy life.

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends?
It is difficult to say. I don’t consider many people true friends. Sure I have many close friends who I go to when I need someone to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, or someone to laugh with. A true friend is someone that no matter how far away, and no matter what the situation they will be there for you. I would say that I only have one true friend. We would do anything for each other, and I say that sincerely. We’ve never once called ourselves ‘best friends’ because we both don’t believe in titles. I really wouldn’t call her a friend, she’s more like family.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?

I think he is an evil man, who is sadistic and craves power. But when you break things down, one time in his life, he had the power to do good. Sure you can argue that he had “evil” in him since birth, but I believe it was his upbringing.
The orphanage, the anger he felt. Maybe if he had been raised in a normal way, none of this would have happened. With that said, it did happen. I know it seems like I am sympathizing with him, but that is not the case. He is the “Hitler” of the Wizarding world, a madman who deserves to be put to an end. A man who if had his way, would be ruling an evil world.

I’ve taken many online quizzes, and they all put my in Slytherin, however this ‘sorting’ is much more in depth. I’m very astute, and determined, which I guess would place me in Slytherin. However I value intelligence, and friendship. I guess when you read over my ‘post’ I have a bunch of the traits. I wouldn’t be surprised however if I was stamped Slytherin. I gotta give it to them, they’ve got I really bad rep, which I believe isnt true!

Water. Though you can argue that your families intentions are for your benefits I believe that sometimes they don’t always know what is best for you. I respect my friends and their opinions. Yes, I have read all six. Actually, I didn't like any of them considerably until book #4... the earlier three were lacking... zest. The Goblet of Fire was certainly my favorite; I find competitions exhilerating.

4. Which house qualities do you value most?
Mm... I hate to sound stupid, but I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this question. Do you mean, the individual qualities (Bravery, Intelligence, Kindness, etc...) or the quality of houses in general, as in, the sense of community? And, which do I value or which do I like? Mm... well, I'll assume you're talking about the aforementioned individual qualities. The ones I find the most important, and appropriate, would be intelligence and wit, meaning Ravenclaw.

5. What are your pet peeves?
Incompetent wait-staff (waiters & waitresses & otherwise), getting sand in my shoes, computer crashes, nuclear wars, when people in front of me in the hallway at school are walking incredibly slowly, and when somebody pronounces the word "caramel" as "kare-uh-mell," and not "karr-mul."

6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be?
I'd have to say a rabbit. They're keen, quick, and instinctual... and who doesn't like a rabbit? Plus, carrots are amazing.

7. What shape would your Boggart take? Probably a flesh-eating zombie with a lazy eye. The lazy eye makes it a double whammy; I find them intimidating.

8. What do you worry about the most and why?
My grades/getting into the college of my choice. (right now Brown or Yale) It's ridiculous. I'm #1 in my class, but only because I sacrifice my sleep, health, and well-being to stay anywhere from 2 to 4 in the morning doing the best possible job on all homework and essays.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?
Of course. I already stated that I value competition, and not only that but I am sure, confident, and ambitious, meaning that if I were to be chosen I would make sure I succeeded.

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it?
I take it we're not talking physically, correct? Well, the most general answer would be "my brain," but that makes me sound arrogant, and isn't very detailed. So I'll have to go with my persuasive abilities. Getting what I want, when I went, from who I want. It's rather obvious as th when somebody would use persuasive abilities... when somebody says "no," to them. But, I suppose I only use persuasion when that person's "no" answer would have a directly negative effect on myself, or someone I care about.

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect?
Sure; they have more privileges than other students, and get more respect from teachers as well as those in the lower grades.

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess?
A good liar. No, really. Being a good liar would be better than being very smart, or very worldly, because you could "be" all of those things without actually "being" all of them. And, good lord, no. If everybody was a wonderful liar there would be no reality. I'm an actor, so I'm a fairly good liar. Some friends of mine are as well, but I think it just comes down to reflexes, really. How fast you can react to a situation, and produce a believable scenario.

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way?
Ignorance. Ignorance gets in the way of so many things... your own personal goals and life, as well as others' respect for you and how you are judged. And plus, if you're excessively ignorant you can never see/know things for the way that they truely are, and therefore what you know is a lie, and your life isn't worth much. Now, by no means am I saying that ignorant people are 'stupid,' because any intelligent person can tell you that ignorance and stupidity are entirely different things. I'm just saying that enlightenment is a good thing, knowledge is a good thing. If I was ignorant to something (as I definitely am) I would like to be told what the truth really is. (Just ask if you want more clarification on this.)

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
I would see a wildly successful, fabulously wealthy, and world-renowned fashion photographer, surrounded by beautiful people who praise me. (That is the shallowest thing I have ever said in my entire life. Then again, I'm only human.)

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends?
Not very many, to be honest with you. For someone to be my true friend, I think we should almost be able to read each other's minds. One glance, and one will know what the other is thinking. Friendship has to be a very strong bond.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?
He didn't get enough love in his childhood. No, seriously. I'm not joking. Think about it... the adoption, the orphanage... the background... hmm, well, now that I think about it, the violent tendancies were probably genetic, too. Obviously, he could've been a brilliant wizard who was cherished by society for doing great things, as Dumbledore was. But he needed strong positive influences, and he didn't have any. I wonder what he would've been like if he had been in Hufflepuff. Now there's an interesting thought, isn't it?

I'm artistic, scholarly, and can make people laugh easily.

Ravenclaw; While I do think I'm ambitious (indicating Gryffindor) it is always geared towards academics, which points us back to Ravenclaw. And, while I am pretentious and conniving when I want to be, those characteristics are not outstanding enough for me to be in Slytherin. And basically, I'm not nice enough to be in Hufflepuff. Ravenclaw seems like a logical answer to me.

Family; a family's love, honesty, and trust is eternal and everlasting... or at least, that's how it's supposed to be. While you always have your friends to stand by you, it's your family that would throw themselves in front of a moving train to save your life.

Of course! My mum owns a book shop so I read the first book long ago. I was reading it as a test for whether the store would have them or not and I fell in love with them. That was yonks ago and my obsession has only grown. I think GoF is by far the best book; it was filled with passion and adventure. It had a wonderful storyline that was exciting and grasped my attention. It was well-written to a specific audience, which the latest two lack. To me, the way that the latest two books have been written seems like she's struggling to choose which audience she's aiming the book at. Adults or children, and it's stuck somewhere in between.

4. Which house qualities do you value most?

This question could be taken from many angles, but i'll go with the house qualities I value most from only one house; Hufflepuff. I don't know how I can answer this question without being viewed as a 'pusher' but, I truly respect and understand Hufflepuff. The overly bubbly stuff is completely untrue. As a friend, I most value and admire their patience. I don't really have the patience of a Hufflepuff, but I value those that do, because it's a very admirable quality to have.

5. What are your pet peeves?

People chewing with their mouths open. It makes me want to scream. The chewing sound drives me insane, especially with my mother. I can't eat near my mum, her jaw clicks while she chews and it takes me to the edge. Everytime she chews, I feel one step close to snapping. Other than that, I don't like dishonest people or immature people. I don't like people who enjoy conflict, sadists don't only scare me, but they make me really uncomfortable. I just don't understand how you can treat people poorly and ENJOY it. It's just disgusting.

A tiger. I'm a bit like a cat; lazy, relaxed, preeetttyy. But I couldn't be just a cat, I get a lot angrier than just a little cat, I also have a lot more power and strength than a kitty. I guess I’d be a tiger because they're strong, reliable, graceful, quick, etc. They're also the mascot for my favourite Rugby League team! I also think I’d do well as a crow, basically opposite to a tiger but, something about crows comforts me. I know it's strange because most people fear them, but I just feel strangely attached to them.

Heights? I don't know. Those dementors are pretty scary. Oh, I saw this crazy Japanese movie and these Japanese school girls turned feral and were seducing Japanese men and then killing them. Those school girls were MIGHTY scary. Possibly that? It could also take shape of the weird homeless man that lives across the road in the council reserve. He throws bottles and other assorted rubbish things at me while I’m waiting for my school bus in the morning. He's really scary.

I worry about my friends. I have myself under control, so I don't need to fear for anything of myself. That would be selfish and pointless. I worry about a couple of my closest friends who are going through tough times. One of them is having a lot of trouble coping, especially. It's sad because she's the most amazing person I’ve ever met. She's the peak of elegance. She moves with grace and poise, she has the voice of an angel. It's horrible for her to feel so down all the time, I worry about her a lot. I worry that I won't be there for her when she hits rock bottom.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?

No. I don't have enough talents to feel confident enough with myself to put my name in the Goblet of Fire. I would only enter the competition if I was sure that I would have a GOOD chance of winning. I wouldn't even consider entering if I thought I had a slight opportunity to make an arse of myself in front of the whole school, and the visiting schools. I'd die of shame. I only enjoy glory for things I’m good at. The rest of the time, I’m happy to be sitting in the shadows, as a normal little boy who just goes about his life with ease. Triwizard Tournament is also a little tough and challenging, too much for my head to handle. Though, getting out of final year exams is very appealing. No, still wouldn't.

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it?

I don't know. My brain? My music? I can't really answer this message. I guess I’m pretty strong and I’ve been in a couple of physical fights, but who doesn't from time to time? I never really get into fights about stupid things; I don't end up having a war of words, so I guess I can't truly answer this question. I guess I can bite back if you insult me, that's just acting on impulse though. Unfortunately, I’m not the confronting type, unless I’m passionate about the issue. I get passionate fairly easily though..

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect?

Yeah, sure. I like Prefect; it's a good amount of responsibility without having your life revolve around it. With the Prefect Badge comes authority and respect, everybody likes a little bit of authority and respect ever now and then, eh? It's also something snazzy to put on your resume for the future. Though, I wouldn't like being in control of a lot, I’m not that organised or confident in my abilities to feel comfortable. I'd enjoy being Prefect, but surely there's someone better fit to fill the position than yours truly.

Um, this is basically the same as the House Quality question. I admire patience. I admire those that have patience; I admire those around me who are patient with me.

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way?

Self-centered. I hate people that think they are the greatest! Well, I don't hate them. But it annoys me when people regard themselves superior to others; I think it's one of the most disgusting things in the world. I don't think that anyone has the right to believe themselves higher or more important than somebody else and, if your mind unfortunately works that way, you shouldn't advertise it to the innocent victim that you consider bellow you. At least people should have the decency to be subtle or quiet about their self-centeredness. I also don't quite enjoy sadistical people (as I’ve mentioned previously).

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?

Wouldn't have a clue. I don't really desire that much. I'd probably see myself onstage, performing in front of millions of people and doing a darn good job of it. The people would be enjoying my performance and their lives would be better because of the performance. Hopefully I touched some people in the audience and helped them find answers in their lives. I’d have a beautiful (inside) wife and couple of kids bringing home the dough and having a good time. Providing my family with a reliable money source!

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends?

I have a lot of acquaintances, but not many closer friends. I have a couple of people I regard to be my truest friends, which I trust wholly and completely. They posses patience (for the third time), kindness, understanding, honesty, a sense of humor, etc. They posses everything a perfect friend could possibly posses. They're my friends because our relationship is solidly built upon a lot of trust and definitely a few personal jokes that bind us together strongly. They make me feel great about myself and, I hope I do the same with them!

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?

Nah, don't like him. He's inhumane. I've mentioned my dislike for Sadists previously, and the dislike still stands. But, you've got to see the light in the darkness! For without darkness, there is no light. That's the basis of my thoughts toward him. I don't like him, I don't support him, and I don't follow him. I believe what he does is wrong, but he makes the do-gooders do good.

Sense of humor. I take jokes lightly, which is good. I rarely get too serious, but I know when to stop. I try to put a smile on people's face, just so that they feel better. I also feel better if I make a jokes or something, it helps me deal with my problems.
Honesty. I'm pretty honest, sometimes to the point where I can unintentionally offend people. I still think it’s a quality I’m proud to have.
Friendly. I’m pretty welcoming. I enjoy meeting new people and I try and make them feel as comfortable as possible. I try and be as nice as I possibly can be, most of the time.

18. What house do you feel you belong in?

I consider myself a Hufflepuff; i'm loyal, kind, honest, etc. But I don't really think i'm all that hardworking. I have the laziness and passion of a Gryffindor, same with the boldness and self assured-ness. I think that the house that represents me most is Hufflepuff, but I have a large amount of Gryffindor in me. I get fired up and passionate about stupid things and i'm always standing up for what I believe in. I also don't have the patience of a Hufflepuff. I become attached to people easily but, I don't let people into my mind or heart easily. That could be a bit of my Slytherin coming through. I've been sorted into Ravenclaw before but, I don't think I fit it. I'm smart, I get good results and such, but my brain doesn't think with wit. My brain works like a two year old tripping on acid. You know? Non-stop, about stupid things. I don't ponder heavily about life, I prefer to wonder when i'm going to eat next. I go with time, which could be the Gryffindor in me. I tend to live and let live, which is Gryffindor. It takes a long time to build up trust from me, and it can be lost within a second, with one tiny mistake I could never trust you again. I pity you if you experience that from me, I become bitter, sour, patronising and sarcastic towards you. This could be the Slytherin in me. But I truly believe that i'm a Hufflepuff. Generally kind-hearted, honest to a certain point that I don’t know when to stop and, sympathetic. I try to listen to people, I try to understand them. Though I don't always succeed, i'll keep trying because I want to be everyone's friend. I guess that's why i'm a Hufflepuff.

Essentially, my family is more important. Though, each member of my family is of different importance, as are my friends. I don’t sit at home and rank my friends and family, I just know which one’s are closer to me and, therefore, more important to me. A few of my friends are more important than one of my sisters, because I just don’t see a heart inside her at all. She’s a stereotypical Slytherin. But the rest of my family is more important to me than my closest friends. I was just raised that way.

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite? Yes I have read all six books. As far as my favorite it’s a strong toss up between order of the phoenix and half blood prince. I really liked OP because of Dumbledore’s army. I like they way the students were scared looked to Harry and Harry stood up to bat. Go Harry! Also that the students formed together, no matter their differences, to work together to better protect themselves or others. Plus the fact the totally back Dumbledore in every way and called themselves his army. And enter Tonks. Up to this point Hermione was my favorite character but took spot number two once Tonks walked in. Now as for the half blood prince, I like how Dumbledore final took Harry completely under his wing and had the pensive session with him so Harry could better understand what was going on. Almost as if he treated Harry as a grandson. And then of course, there’s finally the physical proof of Snape’s betrayal. Most importantly, to me, Tonks appearing more often in the book. I loved the way she randomly appeared when Harry was up to something. It was as if she was his personal bodyguard. And can I just say, it’s about damn time Ron and Hermione, and Harry and Ginny hooked up.
4. Which house qualities do you value most? I would have to go with Hufflepuff because of their loyalty, patience and honesty. Without those three things in your life it would be chaotic. No matter if it is a friendship or a relationship with someone you love. Patience is needed because not all people are the same and we all do things to get on each others nerves. Loyalty because without that someone will get hurt (which usually happens no matter what). And honesty, though it does have its time and place, without it there can’t be much trust.
5. What are your pet peeves? Oh where to begin. I hate it when people change plans at the last minuet and don’t end up doing anything at all. Cleaning up after the damn slobs I work with, I mean WTF?? I’m not your maid and how come I have to do it?! Oh yeah that’s right, because no one else gives a damn >.< ummm I hate it when people drive under the freaking speed limit, It so drives me nuts. Wet willies, yes I hate them along with hickies (on myself, don’t care if others have them) . I’m a bit of a procrastinator so it hate it when people insist on, “No, do it now!” crapp. Kicking of the back of my chair in a movie. Talking and laughing so I cant hear the movie. We have been apart for almost two years not but I fear her terribly! Really don’t want to get into details but I will say she screwed me mentally and scared me for life.

I use it all the time in many different ways. Hell I use it just about everyday a work. People are all like ‘How can you be all cheery and chipper?’ The majority of the time I am actually not. I’m just pretending to make the better of a situation. If I’m depressed I usually act happy. If I like someone I act like I don’t (that’s more of a fear to tell them heh). Humorous, fun loving, carefree and the like. This is a quality both I and all the people I hang with do have. I feel it is important because, I mean, how could you actually enjoy life otherwise?

They have never lied to me and I know I could tell them anything and they wouldn’t tell other people. Trustworthyness is the biggest quality I look for in friends. They are my friends because they have a lot of the same personality qualities that I have. That and hella fun to hang around. Make me laugh and know how to have a good time.
16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort? Well my thoughts on him are these: He could be basically prototyped as any other political psychopath that has killed other people to gain power. I myself am a very non-political person but I don’t think it is right to kill people in cold blood.

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite? Yes, I've read all 6. My favorite is by FAR Prizoner of Azkaban. I liked that Harry, for once, wasn't fighting Lord Voldemort. The idea of Harry finally living with his dad's best friend and godfather was an idea I had been fantasizing about ever since the first one. But I guess leaving the Dursleys and living a normal happy life wouldn't make Harry Harry Potter.

4. Which house qualities do you value most? I value intelligence most. I believe that, with intelligence comes the common sense you need to respect things like ambition, bravery, and loyalty. Without intelligence there would be no point. Say I valued ambition the most, well without intelligence there would be no ambition. Most of the time, when I think of ambition I think of people who strive for a certain carrer their whole life. Without intelligence you really wouldn't get anywhere. I believe intelligence is the root of all good qualities.

5. What are your pet peeves?
Oh geez, you asked the wrong person this question.
#1: BAD GRAMMAR. I hate it. Period. See, notice that, I put a period at the end of my sentence. Whoaaa I'm sure that takes a LOT of effort. OH here's another example I spell a lot two different words. Just like they are. Okay, so anyway, bad grammar is so annoying to me. I constantly see it on instant messaging programs. You know that one AIM icon that says " R U there yt?" I honestly had no idea what yt meant and I asked a friend and they said "yet! duhhh." and when they told me that it struck me, are people really THAT lazy? I even sometimes see it on school PAPERS. ESSAYS! People think it's okay to use "u" and "r". That's so sad to me...UGH. Another thing about grammar that bothers me is the fact that people think there's only one "there". Oh yeah, and that you're is just your. No! NO NO NO!
#2: Lacking ambition. There are so many people at my school who just DON'T care. It is so hard to fail a class but they just fail all six. I watch them sometimes, when we're taking notes for example, they just sit there, look around, or sleep. When a teacher gives an assignment THAT easy, all they have to do is copy down the notes, but noooo they decide that they want to just look around reading the posters on the wall that say things like "try your best!" or "stand up for what's right, even if you're standing alone." I really just don't understand it. How could you not care that much. It's like they don't realize that what you do in highschool reflects what you for your entire life. Especially those kids that you know could be so great at everything. Those kids who have so much potential. I want to like shake them and say "DO IT NOW! YOU HAVE SO MUCH POTENTIAL!!!!" It's pretty much really really annoying.
#3: Smokers Okay, I don't have anything against people who've been smoking since the 50's and 60's. They didn't know about the effects. But kids now, who smoke just because it's cool. UGH IT'S SO STUPID. I've always wondered about these kids and I asked a few of them what they think and some of the most common answers are "If it really was bad for you the government wouldn't let the tabacco industries sell it!" or "All that stuff on the TV are total lies! They just don't kids underage to smoke." or, this just tops the cake guys. "Smoking relieves my stress." SMOKING DOES NOT RELIEVE YOUR STRESS IT JUST SEEMS THAT WAY BECAUSE EVEN IF YOU SMOKE ONCE YOU'RE A TINY TINY BIT ADDICTED AND SMOKING AGAIN FEEDS THAT ADDICTION. I mean, think about it, if you really wanted to smoke, why not just smoke weed. At least you get something out of it. (Not that I'm saying that you should ever smoke anything.)
#4: Liars Okay, here's my biggest pet peeve I think. I really don't mind if people who decide that they don't want me to know about something personal or just something that they'd rather keep to themselves want to lie to me. I don't care. What I don't know won't hurt me. I'm a big believer in that. But when you decide to lie about stupid stuff just to make yourself look cooler...I just can't deal with that and I'll be a big fat bitch to you all. Let me tell you a story about a real life experience with this. One of my best friends, Leah, well in 9th grade she decided to date this guy Josh. At first, I was like, "Hey, this guy is pretty cool." He even showed us this awesome song called "the panda song" and said that his friends Matt and Daniel wrote it and at first Leah and I were like "OH MY GOODNESS HE'S EVEN COOLER NOW!" But for some reason, I thought the lyrics would be on google so I searched it and found out that it REALLY WASN'T HIM singing the song but this other group I don't remember the name. Slowly Leah and I discovered that he lied about so many more things...I just can't stand people like that. I think it's sad really..Well let's just say that they're definately not together anymore. Ew.
#5: Immaturity. Sometimes, most of the time, the immaturity of people astounds me. I'm in 10th grade for those of you who couldn't figure it out, and yet, people still think that it's funny when people say "boobies" or "fart". Come ON kids, grow up. In Chemistry, probably about a week ago we did this lab using glow sticks and someone in our class decided to steal 20 of them. Keep in mind this is predominately an 11th grade class. The glowsticks were seriously only about an inch long. WHO NEEDS 20 GLOWSTICKS AN INCH LONG!??! They weren't even different colors. Well anyway, our teacher was so angry he said we really won't be doing many more labs. UGH! Retard.

Dolphins have always captivated me with their joy. It seems like they just love living. And that's exactly how I feel. I believe in living life to the fullest and with no regrets.

I have a really big...I don't want to say problem because I'm sure it's natural to worry about your family but I have these like really irrational fears about my mom and dad getting in car accidents when I'm not with them. Sometimes, when I come home from a late night with my friends I walk into the house and in my head I'm thinking "What if my mom and dad are dead in their beds right now." I suppose it's just like a mental thing, to prepare me for the worst? I don't know, whatever it is it gets on my nerves sometimes.

At this very momment I think my biggest worry is not getting into the University of Washington. I want to be a doctor and they have one of the best medical programs in the country. In order for me to qualify I'll need to take high math classes (I'm in algebra 3/4 right now which is a year ahead but I'm horrible at it) as well as science (I'm good at that though) and throughout my entire career as a student I've gotten all C's (C's C+'s or C-'s) and one B (which was only a semester). Math is really fuckin my GPA up. I need at least a 3.7 and a 1000 (at least for the old school one outta 1500) on my SAT's. I'm really not sure if I'm going to make the cut. I'm so nervous. I mean, I finally figure out what I want to do, where I want to go and have it ruined because I'm not good at math. I could be in my own grade math level, and I'm sure I'd do fine. I'd probably be exceptional. I'd have a 4.0 since 7th grade. But no. I decide that I want to take a year harder math. I dunno...I just really want to be a doctor. And I've been struggling for so long about my choice for a career. It'd just suck if I found out I wasn't smart enough for it.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire? No. For one I really wouldn't be up to all the dangerous tasks that would be in store for me. Plus, I may be in the top 10% of my class, but that doesn't mean I'm at the very top. I doubt the Goblet of Fire would choose me out of all the other people. If I did put my name in I'd want to be sure I'd win. I'm really competitive and I hate losing. I strive to be the best at everything that I do. But sometimes, my best isn't as good as other people's best.

Hmm, the greatest weapon I posses? The ability to be mean and just not care. I do it so often. If people are annoying me I'll say something outloud. Like today for example, these stupid girls kept laughing and laughing about stupid shit in chemistry and this one girl was like "hahahaha you're gonna make me snort" and then the other girl was like "haha!!! SNORT SNORT SNORT!" and I was just like "I REALLY DON'T THINK SNORTING IS THAT COOL OR FUNNY." I was sitting right next to them, though I didn't direct it at them. I guess you could say my meanness is more passive agressive. That was a really bad example. Whatever. I guess the point I'm making about being mean and apathetic is that I know it's bad. But I just don't care. APATHY people. Apathy.

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect? Heck yes I would love to be a prefect. Sadly enough, I know prefects are kind of infamous for being sticklers for the rules and general sycophants, but I'd like to prove that sterotype wrong. I'd want to be that new prefect, who everyone would say "Don't worry about Mandy, she's cool with almost everything. She'll keep you in line, but only to a degree." And it really doesn't hurt that the prefects are the top two boys and girls in their house.

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess? As I've stated before, intelligence is the most important quality to me. It's actually one of the things I look for when looking for new friends. Since first grade I've been a part of what's called the "gifted program" it's an accelerated program for kids who found the normal curriculum unchallenging. So ever since the first grade I've been immersed in a learning geared environment. All of my friends I've made since first grade have had the same hunger for knowledge I have. I suppose, after six years of that the qualities just kind of stuck. It's a must for being around people. I can't stand the stupid ones.

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way?
Lack of ambition for sure. I hate those people who are content to live their poor lives, living in a trailor, siphoning money from the welfare office. Get off your lazy ass and do something!

I would see me with my degree in medicine, happily married with the man of my DREAMS, with three children, a big house, and my friends and family supporting us. I know the Mirror can't convey feelings but I'd like to feel joy, contentment, and love.

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends? Overall, I think there's only about 10 people I really consider true friends. I have 3 best friends though. The number one quality that they have to have is intelligence. I just can't stand people who aren't as smart as myself. I get really annoyed and I'm super impatient. Sometimes I wonder if they just want to be my friend because I have the answers. But I tend to think there's always conspiracies within friendships. Another quality that my close friends need to posses is the same sense of humor as I do. It's no fun to have friends who can't laugh with you. I've had friends like that before and it never lasts. When I make a friend I intend to keep them for life.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort? Hmm, my thoughts on Voldemort? Well, he's the Hitler of the wizarding world basically. An insanely hypocritical man, whom, despite his handicaps is quite intelligent and a great modivational speeker. They both have their ideals, which neither one of them fit. I've always wondered what their followers thought, with all of their prejudices against a certain type of people, when their very leader, the one whom they look up to so much doesn't fit the requirements for the "superior race". Why would they still believe in all of that when they've seen the capabilities of someone who would normally be consitered inferior.

Sarcastic I think I'm one of those people who can be too sarcastic for their own good. It's gotten me in trouble in the past with teachers. Sarcasm is playing that I'm better than you game and I love it.
Weird/Silly I'm a weird kid. Simple as that. I have a really weird sense of humor and I love it. The things that go on in my mind are quite peculiar and twisted. It's probably my favorite part about me. My friend Kelsey and I have so much fun together because we just sit there and talk about "what if...blah blah blah happened." I think the reason I like this characteristic of mine so much is because I tend to fit into that typical high school girl, the way I dress, what kind of car I'm going to drive, my friends...and I guess me being weird and big fat nerd on the inside separates me from the norm. I dance to the beat of my own drummer, on the inside. I tend to say really strange things...
Judgemental Yep, that's me. I lack empathy to the fullest. People say bullies are bullies because they feel horrible inside or some crap like that, but with me, it's not that way. I suppose I could be consitered a bully. But only by the people who deserve it. I like to think that I'm better than other people. I honestly don't really know why, I think it just gives me satisfaction.

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite? In truth, I have not read all six books. I am an admittedly casual fan (please don't bludgeon me!) I've only read the first three, although I worked at a bookstore all summer where I tried to read the subsequent books when I wasn't helping decorate for our massive HBP Party or directing kids to our copies of "Quidditch Through the Ages." My favorite of the three was the first book because it felt like the most magical experience for me as well as Harry and company; a whole new world was unfolding before me as it was for Harry, one that catered not only to my longstanding fantasies about the glamour of orphan-hood and British boarding school, but to my deepseated hope that there is a greater element of the fantastic in myself and in everyday life than I am sometimes able to see. That said, I think if I'd read all the books, I'd like the last two books best of all. I am drawn to not merely good people, but people that struggle most to overcome overwhelming darkness around them. I'm also in love with Ron, so I'm eager to track his romantic adventures.

4. Which house qualities do you value most? I most value courage and kindness. To me, the two are inseperable, because true kindness exists not in merely being compassionate, but in believing in kindness and goodness to the point that you would defend it at all costs. It's easy to be kind when there's nothing at stake; it's when the going gets tough that one's kindness is measured.

5. What are your pet peeves?
-Bagels with a disproportionate quantity of cream cheese. Too much cream cheese, and you've got white goop squishing out on your fingers. Too little and you spend your entire bagel eating experience fantasizing about how much better it would be with just a little more cream cheese...
-Disorganization, especially in people who are theoretically in positions of authority. I am willing to tolerate friendly clutter and absentmindedness, but when teachers or bosses don't have the respect for me and my work that organization implies, I resent having to do the work at all.
-Being patronized. I am more than willing to admit when I don't know something, so when people assume that they have to simplify things for me, not only does it belittle my intelligence, it implies that I am too stubborn or arrogant to admit if I didn't understand something.
-Group school projects! I like working as a team outside of the classroom (and even in class in theory), but in practice, I seem to get put with people who don't pull their weight and I do all the work, martyr that I am. My all-time favorite memory of this is when I was elected to build a model of the endoplasmic reticulum out of cake; my group gave me a B for the project because after assembling and baking and engineering the cake for about three solid days for unknown reasons. Oh, the injustice!

I think I'd be a fox, equally happy to stalk quietly through the underbrush watching without being seen and to come home in the evening a curl up happily in my den with my fellow foxes. And I'd like to be something with so brilliant a color- I think this relates to my wish that I wasn't such a white European but something with a little more flair. And of course, there's the connotation of being sly, although I think I am more observant than sly.

My Boggart would probably take the shape of a devilish demon, something visually ambiguous in a profoundly disturbing way. I have a profound fear of the devil, not related in any way to religion, but to the idea of something capable of such evil which I have no defense against, that would render even my best intentions useless. I fear not being in control, or, worse, not having any efficacy to place myself in control. If things are going to go badly, they must go badly in a way that I can then blame myself.

I have extremely high expectations of myself, and I think I as much as I worry that I won't achieve them for myself, I worry that I'll let others down. I've known what I wanted from my life essentially since I was eight or nine- I don't think I could bear not to acheive it, and I worry about how I would handle that disappointment in myself. But even more than I worry about my own capabilities, I worry that I will be perpetually alone romantically, that I am too honest or shy or passionate for anyone to ever be truly in love with me. Sigh.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?
I would, because I couldn't stand the possibility of not knowing what would've happened if I had. I am less concerned with the chance of a battered ego than not having learned what I was made of.

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it?
My sensitivity- to others, to my own reality, to the nuances of information and emotion. I am able to understand feelings and thoughts because I have empathy for everything from inanimate objects to writers and philosophers I disagree with. I would use this to afford me an understanding of the motives of the people around me possibly superior to their own understanding of such feelings. I strongly believe justice, and I think this can only come from true understanding of others' thoughts and feelings. So I'd use this ability not to manipulate others so much as gain a perspective on their motivations that could help us motivate our differences. And I have incredible determination, so any problems I couldn't work through this way, I'd battle my way through with as much effort as it took.

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect?
I would want to be thought of as the sort of person that would make a good prefect, and I would want to actually do the job, but I would worry that I would be too shy to make people feel comfortable with me as such a leader, and I'd worry about how I was handling the responsiblity placed on me.

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess?
I admire compassion, the ability to love not only what could be but what is, for better or worse. I think both I and my closest friends possess compassion, but I am disturbed when my introspection magnifies my problems to unrealistic proportions and I feel sorry for myself when others have it so much worse in so many ways. The feeling that someone respects you, sees value in who you are effortlessly, is the best feeling, and I wish I could instill this feeling more in others. Even when I feel this kind of compassion, I wonder whether others feel it.

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way?
Narrow-mindedness, becauses it taints judgement with ego and prejudice. Relatedly, I abhor a lack of imagination; why limit yourself to what is, when you can create something better? Finally, anything less than idealism. Idealism may not be practical or realistic, but if we can't sustain such ideals in reality, the least we can do is sustain them as the ultimate to which we aspire.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
I feel like such a sap saying this, but probably my best guy friend who is utterly unresponsive to the fact that I've been about as in love him as you can be without actually being loved back like that. And I'd see myself at my first book signing, handing over a copy of my newly minted novel to my parents and all-time favorite teacher.

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends?
I have about nine or ten true friends, people who I trust whole-heartedly and who genuinely care about what happens to me. They're my friends because they see the world as I see it- not necessarily a friendly place, but one with people and ideas who are deserving of love not merely in spite of but because of this darkness. But my friends constitute a diverse group; most are artisitic, imaginative, witty, smart, loyal, and kind, but the way these traits manifest themselves in each are different. Of these nine or ten true friends, there are probably three or four who I connect with on an even deeper level because we've looking for the same things from life that we haven't yet found.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?
To me, Voldemort is particularly menacing because not only is he the embodiment of evil, he's a bully in the way that he pursues Harry and consequently places such an unfair burden upon him. Even if Harry can deliver us from Voldemort, Voldemort will have sapped so much of Harry's life when he should've been macking on Ginny. I'm sure that a good psychoanalysis could help old Volde work through some of his issues in a less destructive way, and while I can pity him, it in no way excuses him. Voldemort must be stopped at all costs!

Still, I'm discovering that my friends are more loyal to me than my family, and they believe in the things that I think are important, which my family doesn't. 3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite?
Yes, I've read all six books. My favorite book, I think, is HBP because I could see the cast of the movies clearly in my mind's eye, so every expression Rowling described was vivid. I loved the relationships that developed in this book between Harry and Ginny (even though it came from NOWHERE) and between Hermione and Ron. I've always wanted Hermione and Harry to get together, but this book allowed me to accept that it ain't happenin'. Also because it is fresh in my mind. I'm sure if I read GOB today then tomorrow I'd say it was my favorite.
4. Which house qualities do you value most?
I think there is a way to be proud but not arrogant, there is a way to set goals without being competitive. I value loyalty, but not blind loyalty, which means having the courage to speak out if you disagree with the majority or the norm. Lastly, I value consideration and team work.

Some might sound petty but it really irks me when people spit (I'm sure I've seen Malfoy do this once or twice) it's really disrespectful. I can't stand when people discriminate, but on the same note West Virginian accents really make my skin crawl. I don't like tattle-tales, bullys or gossip and I loath liars. Especially the kind who claim that they are good christians, use religion to gain power,and bash anyone who is different.

I'm very timid so I'll have to choose wolf. My bite is not as harmful as my bark.

I'm terrified of blood and gore, I'd much rather be the one with the laceration than to have to see someone else suffer. The boggart would likely take form of a bleeding victim of injustice.

I'm mostly worried about being humiliated, next is mortality. I'm worried that I'll die before experiencing everything there is to experience. If I could add several hundred years to my life, I would. I'd at least give serious thought to having horcruxes.
9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?
My honest answer (don't squib me for this *whimper*) I don't remember what it is. How could I have forgotten? It was a great book. Which is EXACTLY why I have forgotten, so that I can read it again and enjoy as much as I did the first time. I read someone else's app and it sounds like a tournament. If there is any fun involved (and I don't mean competition) and nothing is at stake, I would. I'm sure no one will believe me that I've forgotten what the GOF is. I'm impressed by my ability to erase that detail from my memory.
10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it?
Weapon? Use it? Mind you, I'd only use it in my defense (I'm a pacifist). I'll say wit, although it isn't very strong, I think it is the only thing I use as a weapon... oh no, maybe guilt. Yes, I use guilt trips to get back at people, it's a jewish thing. Ultimately doesn't work unless the offense I'm countering was grave and the perpatraitor has a conscience.
11. Would you ever want to be a prefect?
I'd like to have the ability to be a prefect, I was always an average student. If I was an excellent student, then yes. I wouldn't want to be an under qualified prefect.
12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess?
Empathy, I have it (and suffer for it) and some of the people I know have but they don't seem to suffer as much as I do. My mom comes close, though. The difference between empathy and sympathy (I got into a fight with my first aid instructor about this) is that sympathy is to pity someone; feel sorry for them. When you have empathy you not only understand what someone is going through, you actually experience the same feelings they do, maybe not to the same extent but it is certainly more than if you just pitied the person.
13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way?
Greed, arrogance, fascism, totalitarianism, 'follow the leader' in lock-step autonomous, self-righteousness...but these aren't exactly "qualities" so maybe I've misinterpreted the question. Why do I feel this way? Because these are attributes or "qualities" that get hundreds of thousands innocent people killed. Sorry if I'm getting too political, I won't bring outside politics into the common room or anywhere else in the sorting hat community.
14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
Oh my! I'd love the chance to do this! This is something I haven't forgotten <3 ;_; I'd see everyone I loved who passed away, my grandma and grandpa, my friend Scarlette, Amanda <3 and I might even see myself in 10 or so years as a successful scientist or even a supreme court judge ;)

This will make the answer very easy. I have zero, nada, zilch. I have very few friends (one or two) and they suck. One of them only calls me to tell me he'll call me later... the other never confides in me. But for the most part we get along and have some of the same interests, so that is why we are friends.

Family, people take it for granted. I really don't know why family is so important, maybe because it is the greatest influence on our lives. I attribute my personality solely to my upbringing.

I guess I'm more competitive than I expected. Don't want to issue points to a house without knowing which one I belong to. 3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite?
I have read all six books, both the American and British versions, because I just couldn't stand to think I'd miss something. If my German was better, I probably would have read the German versions too, because I really like the covers. Goblet of Fire was always my favorite book. Honestly, I think I appreciated Harry starting to grow up and act on his own a little, and part of my liked him fighting with Ron. Maybe I just like to torture poor Harry. I'm also a big Weasley fan and it was nice to see Bill and Charlie around. I absolutely adored getting a look at other wizarding schools and the expansion of the HP universe. The scene with the twins trying to get their names into the Goblet is still one of my favorites out of any of the books. Goblet of Fire will always hold a dear place in my heart.

However, I think Half Blood Prince has finally beat it out. I love the minor characters in Harry Potter. Odd, I know, but I think that they add so much depth. And there were so many introduced in HBP. I do admit to having a few qualms. There are parts that feel they evolved straight out of fanfiction. Romances didn't develop. I can see that in the younger generation, as we've all had those "oh we just met and now we're dating but we're going to be broken up next week" type things in high school. However, I would have liked more evolution of Remus and Tonks. I found Bill and Fleur to be utterly amusing though. Fleur is a character I truly love for her vanity. She always makes me laugh, even when I think she doesn't necessarily mean to do so. But I think I could have lived my entire life without hearing Ron called "won won." Seriously, I wouldn't mind. I did love the introduction of the horcruxes though. I'm big on Harry Potter theories, and this thrilled me beyond belief. I've now got something to occupy me until the next book comes out.

I think there was so much more character evolution in Half Blood Prince. I mean, Draco Malfoy cried! I was sure his tear ducts were removed at birth. It seems like a very Malfoy thing to do. I never thought I would see Narcissa bedraggled and pleading. And Dumbledore, through both the fifth and the sixth book, has become less of an omniscient deity and more human. Then again, it may just be that we see things through Harry's eyes, and he's growing up, so he's seeing that Dumbledore isn't perfect. Harry had such blind faith in him when he was a child, and it's only throw growing up and seeing that Dumbledore did make mistakes, especially regarding him, that Harry, and thus us as the readers, can see the humanization of him. I also admit, I liked Ron and Hermione's snarky fighting. Yes, I like snarky. When the birds attacked Ron, I had a good five minutes of convulsive laughing. I'd love to be able to do something like that to a few people!

4. Which house qualities do you value most?
I have to admit, it bothers me when people think that certain attributes are exclusive to certain houses. There are people outide of Slytherin who are ambitious. It's not just Hufflepuffs who are loyal. I think certain qualities are valued more, however it's not an absolute. That being said, I proceed. I obviously value ambition. I'm a very determined person. Anyone who knows me can tell you that. I'm completely stubborn and when I set my mind to something, it gets done. I think ambition is something you can't get by without in life. If we weren't at least a little ambitious, we'd all be sitting on the couch scratching ourselves in unseemly ways, though no offense to those of you who are at the moment. :-) I think ambition must be tempered with justice, which is where Hufflepuff would come in. You can succeed without stepping on everyone, though really, sometimes people do need stepped on. But you have to be able to decide when it's ok. That's a bit justice and a bit loyalty. You don't step on your friends. And you don't step on people who don't deserve it. But if someone tries to step on you...step harder. I think the Ravenclaw quality I admire most is wit. Life would be boring with sheer intellect and no wit. Aristotle said that wit is educated insolence, and I love insolence! It's such a hedonistic indulgence, and what's better than hedonism? I haven't forgotten my lovely Gryffindors. I know it's often said, but I do so admire the brave. As one who was once painfully shy, it's taken me quite some time to master bravery, and I still have moments of doubt, though you'd never know it if you met me. Honestly, how many occassions have you wished you had the guts to do something? Gryffindors do. You have to respect that. All in all though, I don't think you could survive with just the qualities of any one house. They all compliment one another and work to make a well-rounded person. Someone who could master a bit of each of the houses would indeed go far in life, especially in any type of career that put them in the limelight (ie politicians, actors, etc).

5. What are your pet peeves?
Oh, what a list. I shall list them as Mary's levels of hell.

Purgatory will be those who talk on their cell phones loudly while in my store (yes, I work retail) asking for help. I do not want to know who dumped who or, even worse, about your most recent doctor's appointment. Some things should be kept in private; not to mention, you should have enough respect for someone who is trying to help you to give them your undivided attention. Shame on you!
Level 1 of Mary's Levels of Hell goes to people who come into my store, where I sell CD's, without knowing the name of the artist, the song, or anything about it. Then expect me to know because such and such channel plays it all the time. Or who want to buy a movie that they don't know with that girl in it who was on an episode of that show once with the doctors and why don't I know this? Seriously, if you don't know, how am I going to?
Level 2 of Mary's Levels of Hell goes to people who give you slow service at fast food restaurants. Seriously, it's FAST food. If there's a line, I understand. But if I'm the only person there and I'm waiting twenty minutes for something common, you aren't doing your job. Stop flirting and start cooking.
Level 3 of Mary's Levels of Hell goes to people at bars who think it's fun to mosh to music that is NOT moshable and bump into you, thus spilling your drink. Warning: I will stomp back.

We all have lives and often have to go in the middle of threads, but even if it takes a week, you pick it back up. Yes, long threads do sometimes peter off, but when you commit to starting a thread and ditch it barely into it, it also prevents others from answering many times. So not cool.
Level 7 of Mary's Levels of Hell goes to anyone who repeatedly asks me to repeat myself. I HATE to repeat things and if you didn't pay enough attention the first time, why should I pay enough attention to you to repeat it? Mary's Special Level of Hell...movie talkers. You should be tortured. I'm not talking about an occassional whisper (and I mean whisper) to your friend if they don't mind. But if I can hear you over the LOUD volume of the theater, you're not whispering! And if you have your cell phone on, answer, and hold a conversation, you deserve more torture than even I can give.

6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The animal chooses you, you don’t choose it.)
Oh that's hard to say. I'm often compared with a cat do to my rather fickle temperment. When I'm sweet, I'm often called a pussy cat. When I'm mean, I'm often called a hellcat. My favorite shirt even says "kitten with a mean streak". However, as an animagus, I don't think I'd be something along the housecat line of felines. Nothing domesticated. I'm barely domesticated so my animagus wouldn't be. I would probably be something along the lines of a sand cat. They're solitary creatures, nocturnal by nature, and have acute hearing and ultra sonic sensitivity so they can stalk prey both above and below ground. They're survivors, able to survive without water in the desert living only off the fluids of their prey. They stalk even the most venemous of desert snakes without fear and prey far larger than themselves, even burying their larger prey to come back at later dates. They mature early, depending on only themselves. And they're darn cute too! So yeah, I think that's probably the closest I could come to figuring out my animagus myself.

That would probably be me, alone and old, in a state of disrepair synonymous with failure at life. That's probably my biggest fear - not succeeding. It's not a matter of not succeeding at this one task, but life overall. Every failure is like a tick on the permanent record of life and, I swear, after so many you lose! So failing at anything is kind of the same as failing at everything to me. And I don't think there's anything worse to be perceived as incapable of success. I think, over time, the Boggart could take many forms, but they would all come back to failure. It would probably be whatever task was looming over my head the most at the time. Totally screwing up a job interview. Failing school. Being fired. I could see the Boggart being any of those. So as to what exact shape it would take, that's difficult. It'd depend on the events. But I've told you what the Boggart would represent, so hopefully that's enough. It's such a difficult question. I think what you fear the most changes over time. If you'd asked me when I was a child, I had no concept of failure. It probably would have been a snake. If you ask me in a few more years, it may not be failure. I may have learned to deal with the fear of failure and it may be something else. I think your twenties are a time when you're expected to prove yourself, and everyone around you is so focused on the task that you're pulled into the fray. If you don't prove yourself now, it's like you run out of time. But after you prove yourself? Who's to say. I guess I'll know when I get there.

I have generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder which, let me tell you, are good combinations. What I worry about the most is literally worrying. I can worry myself into a frenzy over nothing and the more I worry, the more extreme things get. I start out worry about something mundane, like laundry, and next thing you know, I think no one likes me, I suck at my job, I'm a failure at life, and there's no point doing anything other than sitting on my couch eating chocolate and crying. Luckily I'm spunky enough that I can talk myself out of that most of the time before things get that extreme, and there's always medication if I worry until I get a panic attack. But I worry about worrying and the consequences. I don't know how many of you have ever had a real panic attack, but it's scary. And when you know what triggers it, you try not to do that. In my case, it's anxiety. Only when you're anxious about being anxious it's a vicious cycle!
The only other thing I can say I honestly worry about are my friends. I'm an Army brat and have quite a few friends in Iraq. My stepdad has been twice now. My best friend is there now. And I've lost quite a few friends in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's not as bad here as it is in Europe. When I'm visiting my mum or when I was in school over the summer in Paris, I could read Stars and Stripes. They put a list in every day of soldiers who've died. It's a daunting task to read the list knowing you've seen the names of people you care about on there more than once. You always turn there first and hold your breath while you scan the names and hope. When my stepdad and Foster aren't there, it's not quite so bad. You lose people you've cared for and it hurts. But when it's someone you know will take a large piece of you with them if anything should happen, it's scary. So yeah...I worry about that. Alot.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?
Yes, yes, yes! I would probably do it without even thinking because I couldn't stand not to at least compete. After I put my name in the Goblet, I'd worry about the consequences and I wouldn't be sorely disappointed if I wasn't chosen. However to not put my name in would be like admitting that everyone else was better than I am, and that wouldn't happen. However, if I was chosen, then it'd just mean that I had new people to compete with, so I'd definitely rise to the challenge. I like to be in control, and I'd tackle the tournament the same way.

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it?
I would have to say highly refined wit combined with biting sarcasm. I have a dry sense of humour which I can temper to charm people, or let loose should someone insult me or those whom I care for in any way. I've rarely in my life had to resort to any sort of physical violence, as I've found that the right combination of words can usually cause more pain. Whoever said sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me was obviously never around the right kind of people. I'm an emotional person, though I compartmentalize well, and I take words more seriously than anything else. I think when you respect words, it gives you more power over the language as a whole. Anyone who's ever seen me mad can tell you what a scary sight it is. On the flip side, I obviously read in abundance. I'm well-versed and can be quite the charmer when I wish to be. And I've got a particular gift to turn anything into a dirty joke.

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect?
Definitely. As I said, I like to have a leadership role. I think I've been that way all my life. I was a peer helper in high school. I organized study groups for hard classes. I'm forever organizing and reordering things. I've always found it a more plausible way to harness my nature. If you're in a leadership position and make an honest effort to be fair it works better than being the disgruntled bossy girl.

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess?
I amdire people who really enjoy life. People who aren't just along for the ride, but direct the way. I admire people who aren't afraid to take chances. There's a lyric by The Postal Service: I want so badly to believe that "there is truth, that love is real". And I want life in every word to the extent that it's absurd. That's always appealed to me. To have life in every word is a dream. It's living your life with meaning. I don't want to drift through life. I want to see things. I want to do things. I want to create things that will be remembered. As for being surrounded with people like that, to a large extent, yes. Many of my friends are more laid back than I. I mean, anyone just like me WITH me would be a little scary. But I go to art school and I'm immersed in a very creative cross-section of people. And to be paying like $27,000 a year to go to art school, we obviously take risks! Because you know everyone wants to hire someone with a degree from art school as soon as we graduate, right?

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way?
I detest liars and people who cheat in relationships. I think the lieing part because I'm an extremely blunt person. I always figure people are going to either like me or not, and I'm not changing who I am so they at least get the honest look at me. But I hate it when people tell you what you want to hear rather than what they really think. As for cheating, I think you should have the balls to leave if you aren't happy. Cheating is just weak. If you commit to something, you follow through. It's giving your word. And if you give your word to be exclusively with a person, you're with that person. If you can't handle that, then you tell them, openly and honestly, and move on. It's healthier for all parties involved. Hmm...I guess it goes back to lieing really. So be good...don't lie! Not that there aren't times when little white lies are necessary, mind you. I needed to add that as a personal disclaimer. Because if my mom says "do I look fat in this?", unless she totally shouldn't be leaving the house in it (and really, you have to save your mom and your best friend...it's required), I'm probably going to say "no, you look fine." Because there is a line between being blunt and being rude.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
I would see myself in the future, having graduated from school and worked on a few really good pictures, hopefully with an Oscar for visual effects on a film (you know...the part of the Oscars most of you don't watch and you wish those people would get off the stage? that's me!). I'd be settled in Europe, teaching somewhere like SCAD Lacoste. Some sort of laid back art school either in France or England...maybe Italy. I'd have a husband and children. No white picket fence, but a place near the beach would be nice! I'd have a garden and a place to write a book and paint. A darkroom wouldn't hurt either.

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends?
I have very very few true friends. I have an amazingly large set of aquaintances, but true friends I could count on my fingers and still have some left. My friends are really varied, but I can say two things that are common among all of them. The first being that they're funny. When we're together, we're that group of people in restaurants that drive people insane. We all have the dirtiest minds you could possibly encounter and it's constant laughs. Several of us usually end up in tears. And if there's alcohol involved, watch out! We made some of the people at dragoncon look boring this year! The second characteristic they all have is the fact that they're loyal. I know my friends would do anything for me and I'd do anything for them. If I got a flat tire at 4 in the morning hours from home, one of my friends would show up to help. They may grumble, but they'd be there. And if I have to leave work to go to Donut Connection to get one of my friends because her truck died, I'll go. All of the people I consider "true friends" are spectacular people who I love with all my heart. We're all different, but we click to form this perfect symbiote. We have the most fun together. But if anything's wrong, we're right there for eachother.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?
Oh how to sum up Voldemort. He's the superhero to some and the ultimate villain to others. Just like most major political figures, he is (or at least once was) enigmatic enough to draw a strong support base by compelling to the strong emotions held by one particular group of people. He's obviously extremely intelligent. He achieved things that no one has ever done before. He was an orphan but even when Dumbledore found him with no formal magical training and no actual concept of what magic really was, he was able to control his powers, and already using them to gain what he wanted from everyone. He was handsome and charming when he was young, yet he was never attached to anyone. He's always out for his own motives. I've heard people say they pity Voldemort, but I don't at all. He was his own creation. From a very young age, he'd determined what he wanted to be. Not necessarily "I want to grow up to be Lord Voldemort and commit genocide on mass levels", but that he wanted to be someone of singular power, in a position to do as he pleased and to have people see him as something great. I think Dumbledore made it clear to Harry that, to beat him, he must understand him. And understanding Voldemort will be a tricky task. And he's going to have to outsmart Voldemort as well.

17. What do you think are your main 3 characteristics?
Artistic - I'm a visual effects major, but I was torn between that, graphic design, and photography. I'm minoring in interactive game design. The good thing about art school is that you get to take classes that cover such a wide variety of interests. I helped run a graphic design community on LJ for a very long period of time (amazing designs if anyone remembers it!). I also maintain several websites. I'm a web DJ on Night Right Radio and have a great time with that! I love photography, especially medium format, and I like developing my own negatives and making my own prints. I also like to paint and photo-journal. I write, though I rarely share most of my writing. Most of my art revolves around art in some degree. And don't even get me started on music. This summer I went to Live 8 in Paris, V Fest, Glouchestershire, Rock-am-Ring, and a few other music fests through the summer in Europe. And yes, I loved it.
Funny - I know quite a few people in sorting hat who can back me up on this one. I can be quite amusing, and usually am. I like to be around people (though I do require solo time as well) and I love a good joke. My mind is in the gutter 99.9% of the time, and you'll be suprised at how fast I can turn anything you say into something funny. Life's meant to be lived and enjoyed, and I enjoy mine!
Ambitious - I went from pre-law in school to visual effects in art school. Both are high demanding fields. I've always taken a leadership role both at school and work. I always feel more comfortable when I can at least have some say in what's going on. I've never been a follower. I've always made my own path and I don't see that changing any time soon.

I think I could belong to just about any house. I have qualities that match several houses and could be an asset to any. I'm often told by people what house I belong in, and it's never the same house! So I honestly don't know where I belong. I'm leaving myself in your capable hands and hoping you can decide where I fit.

My true friends are like my family, especially since my mom moved to Europe. When it comes down to casual friends, I'd definitely pick family. But my "family type friends" are who I've spent the holidays with the last year. They're the ones who have actually been there for my birthday. They're the ones I have weekly meals with. They're the first people I call when something happens, good or bad. So I'm sure you can see my dilemma. I love them both, but at this stage in my life, my friends are my support network.

I also liked the idea that there are other wizarding schools. Order of the Phoenix was a chore to get through as all the characters were unlikeable.

They are all very loyal and would stick up for me in a fight. Also they would probably tell me if I was doing something they don't agree with or that they feel contradict my politics. 3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite? Yes, I have read all 6 of the books. To be honest when they first came out I had found them a bit wierd, but after giving it a try I was hooked! I'm stuck between book one and book sixth. I love book one because I had started reading it when I was going through a rough time in my life...To me it was like a friend, it made me feel like I wasn't alone. Book sixth I simply love because of the loads of suprises stuck into it. (Plus, my fav. HP pairings are H/G, R/H.) What can I say, I'm a sucker for romance. :D

4. Which house qualities do you value most? Intelligence, but not the kind of people who flaunt it to the point of me wanting to shove objects in my ear to drown them out...One quality I value alot would be loyalty. I can be very trusting and very loyal to people who have earned it, but if some one betrays that, it's hard for me to get it back or to deal with those who have. Personality is a big one...If I had to be around people who didn't have any sense of humor what-so-ever, I'd go completely mad.

5. What are your pet peeves? I hate it when people bully others. I try to stick up for people who I see getting bullied, especially "nerdy" people..Why is it always the village idiot making fun of someone who is 10 times smarter than them? It makes no sense at all. I really dislike naive people...Also, discrimination of how some one looks..I can't STAND it when popular people sell tickets for school events, but always passes my lunch table. I'm sick of people labeling me as the goth chick, I'm sick of labels all together. .Last but not least, liars..Like I had mentioned in question 4, I can't deal with them..I hate being lied to..

6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The animal chooses you, you don’t choose it.) Most likely a raven. One personality trait that I think reflects hugely is the fact that i'm a loner. I don't ever feel like I belong anywhere. I said I dont like labels, but like I said people see me as the goth chick but I don't hang out with other "gothic" people. I have very little friends and I really don't like getting too attached to people. I'm very fine on my own, thank you very much.

7. What shape would your Boggart take? (Remember: Your Boggart takes the shape of the thing that you fear the most.) My dad dying.. : ( I can't stand the fact that one day he'll die, especially if it's a sudden thing. It's a big fear for me.

Of growing up and being alone...of not having any purpose in life...of being rejected. All of them I worry about pretty much equally, they all tie in together.

I think my greatest weapon I posses is to make people see logic in things...It bothers me when people make big decisions that aren't carefully thought out. I'd use it to help the person out and use it for people I care for...

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect? No way. I hate it when people tell me what to do and I don't want to be one of those people. I know if I get any power like that It would turn me into a complete monster...can you say power trip?

Reliability!..If one of my friends trusted in me for something I wouldn't let them down. At this period in my life I'm finding there are less people to rely on (considering i'm in high school, of course) and my friends are turning out to be very un-reliable.

Greed, vanity, and people that want attention. I dislike people who have money, buy pointless crap and brag about it. So SICK of people who look in the mirror 50 times a day and think lowly of others who aren't as beautiful. People wanting attention annoys me alot...for example, the other day...A friend was telling a heart wrenching story of how poor her family was...when she has a cell phone, home phone, computer w/ internet, cable, a two story 3 bedroom 2 bath house, and has clothes on her back...I guess that ties in with greed but it annoys me to no end.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see? I would see my parents showering me with attention and telling me how proud they were. (I'm the last of the 3 children my parents had, the oldest an athlete, the middle child VERY smart.)

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends? At this point i'm running low on good friends...but I'd have to say that I have one true friend that has been there for me...she listens to me and understands, she wouldn't ever er..for lack of a better term, screw me over. She keeps my secrets, and doesn't tell people even when we're in nasty fights...she's my best friend because we understand what its like to be alone and picked on...we have alot of the same personality traits, and like the same things. (bands, hobbies, ect.)

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort? I think he's very whiny personally. I mean, come on...If I chose to be evil I could do a better job than him....He reminds me of one of those mentally challenged bad guys who always screws up...kind of like the cartoon with the coyote and road runner (haha, bad example but i'm sure you understand what I mean.)

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite? I have read all six. My favorite was Prisoner of Azkaban, hands down. The particular mysteries and quests of the storyline were appealing to me, as were the new concepts that were introduced (ie Animagi). I also particularly like the character of Lupin, who was (of course) introduced in POA. I also think Rowling was at her best for writing style in this one. She seemss to have been getting warmed up to things in the first two books, and the fourth and fifth really have too much exposition compared to the amount of progressing plot. HBP was an improvement upon this, but it just wasn't the same kind of exciting to me as POA was.
4. Which house qualities do you value most? I'm interpreting this to mean which values from each house, as opposed to which one house has the best qualities. In order to be most successful in life, one really must incorporate aspects from all four. Ambition is necessary, or else one will never have any goals to work for in the first place and therefore causes stuckness. In order to acheive that ambition, hard work and perseverence as well as intelligence and specialized skill are required. And I personally feel that honesty is a given alongside all of those, since a dishonest approach isn't a true and fair success.
5. What are your pet peeves? I can't stand it when people read over my shoulder or when people randomly stop for no good reason in front of me in the hall. Another source of many a rant from me is when people try to tell me how I should write my own characters, how I should lay out my own drawings, or how I should think about my own music, as if they think they deserve to leave a mark on my creative process. Input and critique is good when it's requested, but it just drives me nuts when people try to "sign themselves on" to one of my projects.
6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The animal chooses you, you don’t choose it.) I'd probably be a wolf, but not a werewolf! Wolves are intelligent and inspiring creatures, and I'd like to think I'm intelligent and inspired. They are also often misunderstood and get a bad reputation for it; I was one of those constantly teased and maligned people all through grade school. Wolves function well in groups, but also are perfectly capable of self-sustenance; I love group situations such as orchestra, but also need my personal space and quiet time. Lastly, wolves are very musical in their vocalisations; I wouldn't be a creature that had no musical capability.
7. What shape would your Boggart take? (Remember: Your Boggart takes the shape of the thing that you fear the most.) It would be some sort of sentient cancerous tumour or blob of heart disease. Of course, that would be scarier if it were inside me, but Boggarts don't work that way. And nobody wants to meet a giant sentient tumour on the street...yeeuck.
8. What do you worry about the most and why? (Note: This is not the same thing that your Boggart becomes. Your biggest fear and your biggest worry are two different things.) I worry about failure, about not being good enough to get to do the things I want to do. Music is my life, and I want to be involved in many aspects of it. I play several instruments, compose, and am learning how to conduct. I also spend a lot of free time studying music history. I worry about not being accepted into any orchestras, about never having pieces performed, that I'll never get a chance to conduct a live ensemble, that nobody will think I know enough about musicology to make interesting and insightful points. I worry about not being good enough with other things, too (art, writing, language study), but not as intensely as with music.
9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire? Nope. It would just be too stressful all around, and I'm not crazy about competitions. A simple audition is enough to send me into major twitchiness, and that's really not comparable to what happens if your name is pulled...
10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it? Not to sound cliched, but I think that my greatest weapon is my mind. I enjoy reading and finding out new things, so I have a lot of random facts floating around up there and can generally participate in all kinds of discussions and prove people wrong when they're being obnoxious. I've also always been good at reasoning through things, which can be more formidible than standing there with a physical weapon and no idea what to do other than waving it around. But if all thought fails, I can always whack stuff with my viola case as well...
11. Would you ever want to be a prefect? Not particularly. While I feel I'd be capable at it, the duties associated with it, combined with schoolwork, would leave me much less time to myself.
12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess? Individuality. Of course this is a broad category of things; ones individuality is a combination of other qualities, but there are plenty of people whose qualities don't include anything that makes them stand out very far. People that follow crowds, don't question anything, and have no interests outside the most main of mainstreams are just not terribly interesting. I definitely surround myself with particularly varied individuals. We share many interests, but all of my friends are totally odd and quirky in their own ways. Nothing any one of my friends says could be mistaken for something another one said. A real meeting of the minds, and the eccentric minds at that.
13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way? Dishonesty is the main one, because it causes so many other problems. I'm not talking about little white lies, but rather manipulative mistruths used to gain position or trample over other people. Dishonesty becomes more of problem, though, when one repeats a lie enough times to believe it's really the case. That kind of "believing" just sets the foundation for more lies that might not even be apparent as lies to the teller. Jealous spite is another; there's nothing good or worthwhile in trying to bring someone down from something they earned just because one is upset it's not his own position or achievement. Another bad quality is the lack of desire or motivation to learn about the world in which we live. Too many people are clueless about their own environments, and it causes them to say truly stupid and inflammatory things. Nobody wants other people to be jerks to them, so everyone should try to be a decent world citizen. (Note: Arrogance can be really darn annoying, but it's generally ignorable. It only becomes a problem when other factors like I previously mentioned become involved.)
15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends? I have a lot of friendly acquaintences, but around 10 truest and closest friends. These are people I've known for a long time, people who have always kept in touch and been there, and I've done the same for them. They are all sensitive, intelligent, eccentric, and creative people. They're the kind of people that may not share my passion for something but are still interested to hear what I have to say about it, and likewise with me listening to them. They're the kind of people that, even if we disagree, we can still have intelligent and civil discussions about that disagreement. My friends and I never think anything less of each other no matter what happens. Relationships like this don't form quickly, but they last forever after that.
16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort? He's bad news. Anyone whose only way to ascend to higher positions is by bumping off the people in the way (as opposed to simply doing better than them) is frightening. Particularly when his motives aren't clear. Fortunately, HBP clarifies a lot about Voldemort, but that doesn't change that he's killed people, and someone that kills and sticks around to kill again is scary under any circumstance.

But genetic bonds aside, even family members are just people with which one interacts. Though people are influenced by their entire surroundings, most important to someone are the people they choose to associate with. One can pick up mannerisms and ideas from these people unconsciously, and one often deliberately tries to acquire certain desireable traits seen in close friends. Most people make the unconscious and easy choice to associate with their families; most people are on relatively friendly terms with their family members. Therefore, friends are more important, and family members can qualify in that category.

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite?
No, I read the first four books and then lost interest early on in the fifth. I was not a fan of Angry Harry, for one, and my interest was more in Harry’s time at Hogwarts not in the war. In the fifth book it shifts too much in the beginning for my taste. (Don’t worry though, I know nearly everything that’s happened in books 5 and 6 thanks to my girlfriend’s obsession.)

To answer the second half of the question I think I liked Prisoner of Azkaban the best, but I’m not really sure why. I suppose what I really like the history of it. In this book they really start getting into the past. In everything I read I want it to have a good solid sense of history because it’s something that I am just fascinated by. I love history.

4. Which house qualities do you value most?
I think that each house has good solid qualities, but I value some more than others. Courage is admirable but it has the potential to become impulsive and foolhardy. Really, bravery isn’t my thing. Ambition is good, too, but you shouldn’t let it blind you. As far as intelligence goes, who doesn’t value it? No one likes being surrounded by stupid people. Loyalty, I think, is the strongest quality. In a tight spot I like knowing that someone has my back and that I have theirs.

5. What are your pet peeves?
I hate people who think they know everything and don’t shut up. They’re never actually as smart as they try to come off and they just ramble without knowing when to show up. If I was corrected every time I opened my mouth, I know that I would have the sense to sit down and shut up.

I also have a loathing of those action movies that are just one long explosion from start to finish. Why the hell would you pay $10 to sit through a loud obnoxious movie with no plot and sub-par acting? I also hate the people who go see an absolutely amazing movie (like say and artsy foreign movie) and loudly complain that it’s boring the whole time they’re sitting behind me.

Well I’d say that I’m either a bear or a sloth. You see, I’m really lazy and I like to sleep a lot. I look pretty passive at first (dare I say cute and cuddly?) but if something threatens me or my or my cubs I’ll eat your face.

Right away nothing physical comes to mind. I suppose what I’m really afraid of is dying cold and alone.

My own failings as a human. I know humans aren’t perfect and we all make mistakes, but I’d really like to get through life and avoid some major screw ups.

I’m a pretty good problem solver. I’m not the fastest when it comes to figuring it out, but I’m certainly diligent enough to stay until I understand it. I’ll work at it for hours if it can hold my interest.

The private bathroom is definitely a perk, but I doubt I would ever get selected to be a prefect. I’m not sure I’d want that kind of responsibility.

A sense of humor. You really need one to get through life and have fun doing it. I absolutely make it a point to surround myself with people who know how to take a joke. I’ve even been known to crack a few jokes myself when I’m having a good day. But not more than two. I have limits.

I hate people who are quick to judge without ever giving something a try. They are so comfortable in their own little world that they don’t ever take any risks and they just stagnate. What’s worse they surround themselves with people just like them and when they don’t like or understand something they mock it mercilessly because it doesn’t fit into their cookie cutter view of the world.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
What I really want is a comfortable life. I want a nice house with a cozy fireplace, plenty of leisure time, surrounded by the people I love. And a penguin. I need a pet penguin.

I would say that I have just one, my loving girlfriend who is also my best friend. As to why we’re friends… we can’t exactly figure that one out. We’re kinda just stuck together. She’s probably the only person in this world who actually understands me. We’re practically the same person.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?
He’s a flat one-dimensional character. He’s too much of a typical villain for my taste. Yes, I know he had a rough childhood but really, lots of kids have absolutely atrocious upbringings and they remarkably turn out okay. I think JK is using it as a crutch for her inability to come up with a truly intimidating adversary for the Boy Who Lived. C’mon he’s been thwarted how many times by this little teenaged punk?

He’s also an idiot. He is so confident in his abilities that he couldn’t just use any random witch or wizard to return to power, it had to be Harry; and we all know how that one turned out. To take it further he surrounds himself with morons like himself who muck up his half-baked schemes. They’re not loyal, just intimidated by him. When he was violently ripped from his body they didn’t exactly come running to his aid.

Murdering rampages don’t make you evil. I think the word you’re looking for is insane.

17. What do you think are your main 3 characteristics?
Sense of Humor: Sure it may be a slightly warped sense of humor but I pride myself on it. I’m always the first to laugh at myself and at my mistakes. It was always a good defense mechanism in grammar school. Kids always stopped laughing at you when they saw it didn’t bother you in the least.

Laid Back: I don’t let things get to me. Really I don’t care what other people’s opinions of me are, I’ve never been the type of person to be bothered by it. It can be a very good thing at times and at others not so hot. My grades in school were never great but I never really cared about them so eh…

Stubborn: I really think this one is self-explanatory.

Funny question, that. Now if I said where I ideally want to be someone will say I’m pushing for that house and squib me. But then if I say I don’t know someone will make some snide comment that I must know where I think I belong. Is there a right way to answer this without pushing for any house?

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite? Yes, I have read all six. I would have to say that the sixth book is currently my favorite. It offers character development in Snape and Malfoy, a very intricate plot, a tone which completely capivated me the whole way through, and generally quite amused me with certain situations. (Imagining Luna Lovegood announcing the Quidditch games with McGonagall trying to keep her on topic is just one of the many.)
4. Which house qualities do you value most? Each house has values which I agree with: cunning, loyalty, intelligence, and courage. Cunning is a quality I value in myself and the people around me. I greatly appreciate loyalty because I loathe being betrayed (and have been known to seek some sort of justice for such violations). Intelligence is something I can not exist without; mazes, riddles, games (word, board, card and the like) and things of that nature are just a large portion of my free time for me. And courage is something I am always trying to increase in myself for obvious reasons.
5. What are your pet peeves? Most of my pet peeves have to do with people. Most owe such detestation to carelessness or inconsterate acts; among these are people who take over arguments and think they win by talking louder than anyone else, people who do not use their manners regarding others (especially on the road), and people who are too busy being apathetic, angsty or lazy to notice/care about anyone or anything else. Other pet peeves: poor grammar, lack of imagination, trite or redundant language, and closemindedness.
6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The animal chooses you, you don’t choose it.) A Chartreux cat. The cat is a sturdy survivor with a good personality which loves heights. Plus, as cats often are, I am fond of sleeping.

But not just any type of clown you might spot at the Fair or circus. I can deal with those ones. This clown would be like eight feet tall, huge red nose, extremely pointy teeth, escaped-lunatic eyes, huge hands, and the typical massive amounts of clothing with outrageous colors and polka dots. I don’t think I need to explain any futher than that.

The biggest worry in my life is if I’m doing the right things by everyone I encounter. Am I doing right by my friends? Am I in the right courses to get the job I want? Was I not nice enough to that old man who dialed a wrong number? Did I say the right thing to that lost student? Am I doing right by me?
9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire? Yes, but only because I would not be chosen. I would not expect to be chosen as a competitor as I usually prefer being in a group but would do it to give the Goblet the option to choose me (and to take part in the pre-competition jitters the others in my group would be experiencing).
10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it? The greatest weapon I posess is surprise. This weapon is typically used when I have kept quiet as a part of a group until I am needed to spring up and take charge. On these occasions I have the talent to help hypothetical circumstances come to fruition and the advantage of being slightly mysterious or underestimated so others have difficulty predicting what I will do or how well I will do it. I also quite like seeking the shocked faces on those who completely count me out.
11. Would you ever want to be a prefect? Not really. Too much responsibilty and spotlight, not enough freedom and discresion.
12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess? Being well-put-together. This is meant to illustrate that type of person that you know has enough common sense, creativity, intelligence, joviality, and seriousness that you know you can stand being around them and want to be around them as frequently as possible. It is the total package overall that really counts. I tend to surrond myself with these people due to the fact that this quality or combination of qualities provides a dependable and interesting person.
13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way? Closemindedness and apathy are two of my pet peeves as mentioned in quesiton 5 partly because they make horrendous character traits. The singleminded, defeatist, and the irrational (in both thought and behavior) are equally repugnant. This is simply because there is no talking to people with these traits or working with them. Either you ascribe to their point of view (whenever or however it strikes them) or you are instantly disregarded as unimportant or worthless.
14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see? I would have a glass of champagne in my hand, a nice-looking man on my arm, my friends around me (also with champagne), a full wallet in my pocket, and I would be smiling.
15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends? I have two true friends. One posesses copious amounts of imagination, the best sense of humor I have ever known and such great intelligence that I am so incredibly grateful I know her. The other happens to be the most honest person on the planet, a competant leader, and quite a character unto herself. Both are my friends because they inspired me to be something more than just another kid, quiet and surly. Plus neither has been able to shrug me off yet.
16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort? I am personally against his cause (or his crusade) but he, on a personal level, has my pity. He is an orphan who basically grew up in a negligent enviornment with a chip on his shoulder large enough to build a mall on it. It is almost as if he should have had a really fuzzy puppy when he was little to prevent all that happened afters. Granted, he just might be innately evil, in which case he would either kill the dog just to watch it die or train it to attack on command. I ossilate between the two trains of though; pity or evil. Cause-wise, Voldemort's style is not my style. Plus I would rather serve my own purposes to help my family and friends (and have them do the same) rather than see them die horrifically for or at his bidding.

I am honest as I can be about everything partly because it is a good way to gauge where other people relate to the truth and partly because I tend to be a bad liar (or have been in the past; I've been working on it). Being nice is an exceptional quality for me because I try not to burn bridges before I know if I need to cross them. And intelligence is not a quality I would ascribe to myself generally, however I have been described as such by enough people to accept the fact that it might be true.

Well, if you still find them vague, I am sorry, but they certainly aren't short. 3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite?
Yes, I actually just moved from WA to CO and whenever it wasn't my turn to drive I was devouring book six. (I spent the summer re-reading the series...and now I own them all too! w00t!) That said, I am not sure about the having a favorite bit. I am very much of a book person, and whenever hw (gag) doesn't dominate my life, I read, and despite the hundreds of books I have read in my lifetime, I am not certain that I have a specific favorite of any of them. Obviously some rang out over others, and I have re-read those books, because I enjoyed them, but in the case of Harry Potter, I enjoyed the series as a whole, further, having just finished book 6, I am terrifically irritated that I ran out of Harry Potter to read, the new book I started is very interesting and very good...but not as good...need more Potter...left hanging...must know what happens next...*mimes a fish out of water*
I can definitely say I favored the latter half of the series over the former. Why is that, you ask? Well, there are many reasons. This explanation is long and drawn out, just stay with me here, I promise I am going somewhere with this...so here goes: I am firmly under the impression that if you woke me up tomorrow (birthday or not) and told me that I was some super hero and everyone in some community I hadn't previously heard of knew about me and my heroic *I did what now?* deeds, nothing personal, but I wouldn't be thrilled. I would think the idea of being a part of this other world was cool, but the fact that I was famous for something I don't even remember...that would annoy me. I like people to judge me based on me. Not on stories, rumors and legendary heroics that I honestly have no recollection of being a part of. Would this stop me from going and checking out this other world? Hell no...I would jump at the chance, but I would hate that fact that I had to try and fill these huge shoes that are somehow mine, and everyone would expect things of me when I didn't even know what to expect from myself. It’s a little unnerving. I know a lot of fantasy books are all about the heroes and how great and glorious they are, and how amazing are the things they did, but no-one ever really goes into what the heroes lived through to accomplish whatever made them great and glorious, and often, if you pry into history, you will find that some of the things the people we revere lived through are almost mind boggling in their horror. Harry never really had a chance to define himself for whom and what he was in the wizarding world. Everyone already had some preconceived notion about him. It is kind of like being the younger sibling of the star quarter back, and everyone excepts really great things of you, most likely of the sort involving football, but you don't even like to play sports and you aren't that great quarter back. You are just you, and great for your own reasons, not the ones people make up for you...like that, only worse. Anyways, I am rambling, the point of that was, I think that many of the hardships of who and what Harry was, what he had done, and the implications there-of were addressed really well in the latter half of the series. In those books, you see a little deeper into how all of this has affected Harry. I grant you, that he isn't always the great and gallant Harry Potter as much in the later books...I mean, he is still awesome, but seeing the...I don't know...human aspect of it, the anger, the irritation, the frustration, made it mean more to me. More real I guess. Not to say there wasn't emotion of that sort in the beginning of the series, there was...just not as developed. I think that the "definition of personality" became clearer as Harry as a character developed...and obviously, the more you write about a character, the better you get to know him, thus the easier it is to express what they think and feel. Having said that, as I stated eariler, I don't have a favorite book, so now, after droning of forever, I shall tell you what I liked about each of the books, in general only, otherwise you won't get past the first question before tomorrow (having re-read this entire thing once I actually completed it, you still might not finish reading this before tomorrow, but I think it is worth the read, but I am biased, after all, I wrote it.)
Sorcerer's Stone/Chamber of Secrets:
Quick easy reads, introduced the characters well, quickly establishing the good, bad, evil, and annoying, yet it was done in such a way that the reader was almost tricked into thinking he had decided the basics of the characters for himself. This is a good talent for any author; the "let the reader identify with them" bit (and wish they could go to Hogwarts.) I enjoy writing, and that is one of the key aspects I struggle with all the time. I am never sure what I need to tell the reader and what the reader should figure out for themselves. Mrs. Rowling did an excellent job with that. I felt that each of the characters (primary or otherwise) was given a good piece of the spotlight, enough that it was rare to run into a faceless name. There were a few, but not many. This allowed the various characters to develop throughout the book, rather then "this is character A...they behave like this...” As stated previously, this allowed the reader to form their own opinions about each of the characters without excessive influence from the author. The only impression I got which I felt was a little bit to weighty was that of Slytherin House. We all know that more bad wizards come of Slytherin then the other houses, but in all of the books, all Slytherin's are made out to be 'bad' in comparison to other characters. I am not sure that I think that that is fair to wizards in Slytherin. Ok, so you might be cunning and determined, and perhaps even a little racist on the "who should and shouldn't be a wizard" thing, and while I would say that the pureblood aspect annoys me, those qualities in and of themselves aren't necessary evil. Just often misunderstood, and to represent the whole of Slytherin and the "generic bad guys" just seem unfair to me. Besides which, the pureblood thing can be overlooked, because despite all his evil, Voldemort was a half blood and in Slytherin. Lastly, I really wanted to kick Dobby. Especially after I saw the movie, I kept hoping somehow that Dobby would screw up, and everything would be ok...but that's like hoping that Anakin Skywalker won't fall to the dark side. *shrug*
Prisoner of Azkaban:
Let me see...the specific things I liked about this book...it really is harder to say it simply. I enjoyed learning about the antics of Mr.'s Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs; both in their guises on the marauder’s map (especially when they were "talking" to Snape ^_^), and for those that still lived, their parts in the story. I honestly loved Sirius, once I knew he wasn't going to kill Harry. I was able to identify with that whole crew; they reminded me of how my friends and I interact. We are less impetuous, but only because we can't do magic. (Oh the stories I could tell...I had so much fun freshman year...playing tag in the engineering center...at one in the morning with all the lights off...big, dark, building, screaming laughing kids...good times ^_^) I also really liked Lupin; I really enjoyed how well his stolid acceptance of his life came off. He seemed resigned to the fact that he knew he wasn't a horrible creature, but that no matter what he didn't, the world at large would always look upon him with fear, so he accepted it. I think that was very brave, and something that is very hard to do. There are parts of all of us that we wish we could just banish, but the person who realizes that some parts just can't be changed and moves on with their life, making the best of what's left. This book also started to bring some of the "outer" edge characters into better definition. I won't say which characters specifically, because the characters that I judge to be less significant then others might be someone else's favorite, so in the interest on not offending, let's just leave it at: this book did a lot for bring the magical world into shaper definition, further concreting the environment. I must also admit that I had nightmares about dementors for weeks. I woke up more then once, pointing at the shadowy corner of my rooming, shouting "Expecto-Patronum!" Having admitted to that, you'll just have to wonder what happened next...I am obviously still here to write this nice short application (^_^), so either the shadowy thing of my dreams wasn't a dementor...or...I am just the coolest kid ever...
Goblet of Fire:
As I said, this book started bringing the dark side of the hero to life, not to mention brought back the real enemy. It was really cool also to find out about all the other schools, their head masters and mistresses, and the various lead students. It would be awesome if there were a fanfic about what happens in daily life at one of the other schools. One of my favorite parts was at the Quiddich world cup, the wizard in the nightgown. I could look up his name, but off the top of my head, I don't know it. He cracked me up. I also really liked how none of the wizards really understood what "inconspicuous" meant. *rolls eyes* I want a tent like the ones Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys stayed in. I really like the outdoors, and I can tolerate roughing it, but to say I like it would be a drastic overstatement. I really like being clean, and I hate bugs. My boyfriend wants to go and hike the AT when we graduate, from New Hampshire to Maine, which is just about a full month on the trail. I hope I am up to it, but if someone feels like inventing a Weasley tent in the meantime (preferably light weight, maybe under 2 lbs if possible) I would gladly test it out for you ^_^. Going on, I also enjoyed the definition of each contender's character. Each one was very distinct, and their approaches to the various challenges were unique and innovative. Cedric's dad irritated me, but I was sad to see his son die, Cedric was pretty cool. This book was for me what "the empire strikes back" is to star wars. At the end of 'A New Hope' everything seemed to have turned towards the good, it was going to be alright, when *splat* something unexpected comes along and everything that was going so well falls into shatters at your feet, as your greatest fear comes back to life. This book took the series from a children’s story that adults could enjoy also to good series, still for both kids and grownups, but…deeper? Don't get me wrong, the other books were good, and Prisoner was getting there, but this book took it the rest of the way, suddenly, the happy ending wasn't, and that difference was critical. I also really liked the bits with the pensieve, accidental and otherwise, those parts were very cool. That said, there was so much I liked about this book that I left out, but in the desperate attempt to not yap your poor eyes? off, I will end this here.
Order of the Phoenix:
My favorite part about this book was the DA. I thought it was cool that Harry finally decided to teach some of what he had learned in his various adventures to others. To take the action that needed to be taken and do what needed to be done (even if his friends pushed him into it), despite all that stood against him and what he stood for. Dropping back to the beginning of the book: I liked that Harry got mad. His reasoning was perfectly logical, I would have been pissed too (We just went through all this together...TOGETHER! and now you are cutting me out? *insert age appropriate curse here!*) I also understand Dumbledore's reasoning, even if I fault his approach (as I am sure will come into play later, I am a firm believe in the 'tell it up front' ideals of honesty, I'd rather know, and deal with my reaction then wonder and be frustrated. It just makes me skin boil when I think people aren't being completely honest with me!) On the character side of the book, I really liked Tonks, she was great, I really want to be a Metamorphmagus, I just think that is very cool, and she was such a punk :) I really like people who just are who they are, regardless of what society thinks. I suppose you could say she changed her face a lot, but not in the sense that matters :P I liked meeting the real Moody. Mr. Crouch's son, for all his deceitfulness, did a very good job impersonating Moody, but there were certain characteristics he missed, and those were made apparent in the real Moody. I also enjoyed Sirius' house and history, for all of it's darkness and bleh...it just made Sirius shine that much brighter as a character, I mean look what he came from, and look who he became.. As I said before, Sirius was one of my favorite characters, and I was very sad to see him go. I also really liked Luna, I saw a lot of myself in her, the strange girl that no one really likes or dislikes, and they just think that she is fundamentally missing a bolt or a screw. That's me, I am the "off-kilter" one of everyone I know...and they all like me just fine, but often, I will say something (makes perfect sense to me) and just get a strange look. I swear that everything I say is perfectly logical and thought out, but 9 times out of 10, you'd need to be inside my head to understand the chain of logic that goes into whom and what I am, and honestly, inside my head is not a place anyone wants to be. It’s a little dark and scary in there, and furthermore, you won't fit. Moving onward: I HATED Umbridge. I wanted to slap her every time she made that stupid noise "hem-hem". I am also not convinced that feather of hers wasn't some kind of dark magic device that should have been banned. She just seemed to go out of her way to make things difficult for everyone. A simpering annoying idiot who is convinced her way is the only way, and any trick you try to get around her rules...she'll catch you and add 10 new rules to stop you from ever slipping through her nets again. The urge to just scream in frustration was rampant throughout the book. Read the introduction for my opinion on dark side of hero. It's not that I think that there is a dark side to everything, I don't. However, as a person, I really can't justify the feelings of hope and despair. Call me Vulcan if you must, but it simply isn't logical. Not to say that I am immune to hope and despair, that is certainly not the case, in fact, I am so much stuck in the mindset that I have been know to pray to..something..for lights to change. I am not quite defined on my religious beliefs, I would go into a brief explanation, but you've seen how I write...so, how about another time, mayhaps? Especially as that has nothing to do with Order of the Phoenix. I liked the fact that in this book, despite the very best efforts of those involved, anything that could go wrong did. This struck me to be a lot like real life in that when you are at your lowest and all you want is to see the light at the end of the tunnel, all you get is a freight-train rushing your way (good song). I want to comment about the end, but I could go on for another couple paragraphs. Let's just say that I wish Harry had better mastered occlumency, because then Sirius would still be alive. *wanders off into thoughts about the end for awhile.*
Half Blood Prince:
*ok, I'm back* First things first: I hated the title. It honestly didn't really relate to what happened in the book, but the book itself I adored. I picked it up the day I left Seattle, and finished it before I arrived in Denver 2 days later. I am very much looking forward to the next book. I know, I have awhile to wait, but I refuse to give up on Snape yet. For me, he has always been a source of annoyance and irritation, and yet, I liked him. Alan Rickman did an amazing job at the roll, and fit very nicely with the Snape in my head. Anyways, despite his experiences with James, it annoyed me that he judged Harry before Harry ever opened his mouth, yet even after the unbreakable vow and murdering Dumbledore (yes, I recall how he was described as he did it. Let me fool myself!) I am not ready to give up on him or Draco. Draco hesitated, that speaks in his favor, and Snape, I don't know, I just...I want Dumbledore to be right. I guess I have this thing about people and being good. Yes, there has been a lot of evil in the world. Hitler, Stalin, the United States (yes, the US is evil. deal with it. ok, maybe not to the Hitler/Stalin ideals of evil, but still...the US has done a lot of horrid things in the past, and continues to do horrid stuff...both to the world, and her own citizens...another rant for another time..) Regarding my thought on good and evil, a dear friend of mine died 7 years ago, in his journal, which his mom gave me at the memorial service were inscribed the following words: "man, despite his faults, is inherently good." Call me an idealistic fool, but I would like to believe that that is true for the vast majority of people. I also really liked Harry's 'chest monster' concerning Ginny. That amused me.
Ok, so that doesn't even begin to touch on my opinion of the books, but as I don't have a favorite, I did my best to pull out the bits and pieces. There is more, much more. I think it is safe to say you all know now my fabulous talent for droning on at length, regardless of whether or not anyone is listening. It may not show, but I honestly did cut this down an awful lot. However, as a random side note: I get my opinions on heroes from another favored series of mine: the six duchies "9-ology" by Robin Hobb...however, my favorites from that series are the first and last 3, the middle 3 were good, but not as good, but yea, my hero opinion is derived very much from the adventures of Fitzchivalry (the "main" character).

4. Which house qualities do you value most?
I believe that no-one can be defined by one specific quality; everyone has aspects of their personality that fit in all the houses. After all, we are all the sum of our experiences, good, bad, and ugly. That said; let's move on to specifics, shall we:
Gryffindor: The ideal qualities of a Gryffindor are bravery, gallantry, chivalry, and more then willing to bend the rules. I would generally describe them as your well rounded scout type figures, you know: "be all you can be...most of the time..." The qualities that appeal to me about such people are how they are willing to sacrifice of themselves for the gain of others, in the awareness that their needs may not be as important. To be a geek again, I quote Sarek: "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." This is very true and yet, often so easy simply set aside and ignore. This is a skill that I prize highly both in myself and the people I choose to surround myself with. I often make choices that involve a sacrifice to for me that results in a gain for another person...and honestly, more often then I would like, these sacrifices are the kind that easily go unnoticed in the general scheme of things. Yet, when events end up working out for the person or persons sacrificed for, I feel such happiness in knowing I had a part in it, regardless of whether or not the affected persons are aware of my involvement.
Hufflepuff: The ideal qualities of a Hufflepuff are honesty, loyalty, fairness, patience, and the willingness to plod through a task until completion, even if it is not a task they particularly enjoy (example: clean a bathroom, some folks will just rush through it, so they can claim they did it and move on to more preferable activities. A Hufflepuff will go, clean the bathroom correctly, so that it is actually clean, and then go do other stuff...even if it means they miss out sometimes.) The aspects that I admire most about a resident of Hufflepuff are their fairness and loyalty. I would judge a Hufflepuff to be the type to hear out both sides of a story completely before making a judgment call. I also think that even if the judgment they came to was less then the popular opinion, a Hufflepuff would stand by their choice. I admire this. I try when faced with various issues, to be sure that I fully understand what happened and why before I act. I find that this has in the past affected me somewhat adversely in the past, but in the big picture, has always worked out to my favor.
Ravenclaw: The ideal qualities of a Ravenclaw are a steady mind, intelligence and love of learning. I honestly think that for my example of a good Ravenclaw, I will have to use Hermione. I know she isn't a Ravenclaw, and she does have a lot of Gryffindor in her, but I think she could have easily fit into Ravenclaw. My favorite aspects of the ideal Ravenclaw would be the wit and love of learning. I am very much a geek (I know, it doesn't show at all...*rolls eyes*) I pride myself on my geekdom. I like details and knowing how things work, and I honestly prefer calculus to partying, any day (but that has more to do with being fairly anti-social). I am an aerospace engineer in progress (1 year left) and so I am surrounded by the intellectually elite. (Important note: engineers are not the smartest people in the world, no matter what we think on the subject, but for some strange reason, the maths and sciences are regarded as harder and thus requiring greater intelligence...this is a lie people...it is just where individual talent lies. example: I can do really complicated flow problems without thinking about it, but I can't tell you what a hanging simile is.) I have found that the people I see around me (90% engineers) are very focused on what they are learning, and thus exists a quiet, proactive environment full of quiet, motivated, hardworking people. More importantly, and contrary to popular belief, engineers do have senses of humor, usually subtle and dry, but that is the form I enjoy and find hilarious. I suppose one could consider it higher end humor, but for sooth, it really is just geeks being geeks :) (example: while walking through the mall on a mission of sibling mercy (needed a ride home) my best friend and I spent the entire search for my brother discussing how the mobs of people in the mall could be adequately replaced by a higher order chaotic function, and how if one was able to take the time to evaluate said function (not impossible, just annoying) then navigating the mall would be a piece of cake.)
Slytherin: The ideal qualities of a Slytherin are cunning, ambition, and desire to lead (call it power-hungry if you want, I think the term power-hungry has a rather negative ring to it, and as I said before, any quality can be twisted and made evil, but honestly, cunning, ambition, and the desire to lead are very important personality traits, a person who possesses such traits has the ability to go far in this world. Without ambition, no one would ever bother trying to be more then they currently are. Cunning: this word also has a bad rap to it, but while a cunning person can be evil person, who uses guile to get his/her way, a cunning person can also be a parent who offers a child a treat in exchange for a moments peace, or the teacher who makes the critical difference to the troubled child by using cunning and ingenuity to teach through experience, thus winning the child’s heart and starring in some holly wood film. This ends up working out well for both of them. Anyways, the traits I respect most in a member of Slytherin are the ingenuity and ambition. The drive to succeed is a critical piece of the human psyche, and coming up with creative methods of doing so is a skill that is essential to every project and goal attempted by humans, from making a fire to designing and launching the CEV. No matter what your path in life, you will encounter resistance: a hard class, an injury, social issues, whatever, it doesn't matter, everyone runs into such things, and the mastery of cunning, ambition, and ingenuity provide the basis of the skills needed to get past such obstacles. After all, who hasn't heard the phrase "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again.." however, what is left out of that little phrase is "if at first you try one way, and it doesn't work, and you try again the same way, and it still doesn't work, don't give up...try another way.." In order to take stock of the options available and come up with a creative approach, one has to make use of cunning, ambition, and ingenuity.

5. What are your pet peeves? I am afraid I have a lot of pet peeves. That said...the pet peeve above all pet peeves is itinerant noise. I hate noise for the purpose of making it. Examples: whistling, tapping fingers, popping gum, dragging feet, singing the same verse of a song over and over, dripping water...you know the sort. Such things just grate my nerves really quickly, usually resulting in me finding some way to very quickly eliminate the irritation, occasionally by shouting or hurting...whatever it takes, the noise must stop. I dislike being touched, I can tolerate it in measures from some people, my boyfriend and my parents, but in general, no one else is allowed to touch me, and will get hissed at if they try. If they try a second time, I bite. I am a neat freak, and hate messes. I am not capable of focusing in a messy environment, and will put off doing more important things like going to school, for example, in order to clean my room. I also hate procrastinating and general inefficiency, getting very irritated when in deep thought or involved with and certain task and am interrupted by anything, be that phone, boyfriend, end of lab, whatever, and if put off my track, I will be most annoyed that I lost my train of thought. There are many more, many, many more...kind of sad really, but the others are less character defining and derive more from being a diagnosed obsessive compulsive.

6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The animal chooses you, you don’t choose it.) I imagine that 9 out of 10 people say that their animagus would be a cat. I hate to follow into that category, but in my heart of hearts, a cat just feels like the right answer. There are many reasons for that. I tried to think of as many animals as I could, and tried to imagine myself as that sort of animal, but with every animal I tried, only a cat felt right, and by cat I mean a small house cat. I thought of tigers and lions and whatnot, but those cats are too big. Now, I grant you, my thought process might be somewhat impaired by the amazingly cute and warm fuzzy thing sitting next to me, but I don't think so. Personality and physically speaking, I am very much like a cat. I enjoy the company of those I know well, and sometimes tolerate strangers, but will more often go hide in my room. I am easily distracted, and rolling a ball across the floor is a perfectly viable way to get my attention, assuming you can distract me from what I am working on. I do bite and I do scratch if someone either corners me or does something to me I don't like. I am a sucker for having my hair played with and my back rubbed. If I could purr when such things occurred, I assure you I would. I also question people if I misheard them or if I am greeting them by mewing at that them. I hiss in response to things or people I don't like, and I could be just fine being told to nap for 18 hours of everyday. :) Further, I get into all sorts of things I shouldn't, including but not limited to: climbing onto of elevators, slipping under beds, hiding in the dark and refusing to make any nose, even if someone is talking to me, and to disappear with out telling anyone I plan to leave. My friends also tell me I need to be de-clawed. My nails are very long and very sharp. I shear them down to nothing every two weeks, but a week later, my nails have grown almost an 4th of an inch, in two weeks, you can't tell I cut them, and I will not hesitate to use said claws to scratch if I feel such an action will serve me well. Lastly, I don't care what people think and tend to do what I want regardless of the opinions of others. I think pretty much covers it ^_^

7. What shape would your Boggart take? (Remember: Your Boggart takes the shape of the thing that you fear the most.) my greatest fear is of being abandoned by those I trust and love. I was trying to figure out how a Boggart could take the shape of such a fear, and I think the best I could come up with is the Boggart appearing as that group of people upon whom I base my foundations looking at me with that look. You know the one; most people have seen it at least once in their lives: the look of cold hearted dispassion, almost disgust. The kind of look a person gives you when what you say doesn't matter. The person has closed themselves off to you, and any relationship you previously shared with them no longer carries any weight. Worse, you do not matter to them any more then any other random person they might pass on the street does, maybe even less…the look that says that to that person, you mean exactly nothing. I have only seen this look once, but it was from my former best friend. We never had a fight to end our friendship or anything like that, it was just that one day I mattered and the next she decided I didn't. I know, you might ask: how is it possible that such a person could possibly have been my best friend, and the story behind that is long, convoluted, and typical high school drama story that just moved on to college. Either way, it was one of the single worst things that ever happened to me, and it destroyed my ability to trust people. So therefore, my greatest fear would be to see such a look on the faces of the very few I have come to trust since that tragedy took place. I am not sure I could bear to be completely rejected as a human being again. I just couldn't deal with it; it nearly destroyed me the first time.

8. What do you worry about the most and why? (Note: This is not the same thing that your Boggart becomes. Your biggest fear and your biggest worry are two different things.)
short term fear: This is going to sound petty since it is directly concerned with the here and now, but I suppose in some form it is something that I do constantly worry about. The small furry thing I described earlier is sick. I know, I know, she's just a cat, just a pet...but she is my pet, my first pet. Yes, I have had pets before, and while I might have been their chosen person, the responsibility of such pets always fell to my parents. Gabrielle is the first animal that has been mine, and I have only owned her since the 17th of august. She was adopted from the humane society and she is a year and 4 months old. Her name is actually an interesting story. A very dear friend of mine (and devoted cat mommy) adopted an adorable kitten a year ago, had her tested for feline leukemia and she came up negative. Two months ago, her kitten started to act strange, so she took her in, and that cat was diagnosed as being in the final stages of feline leukemia. She had to put the cat down a week later. That cat's name was Gabrielle. In tribute to my friend, I named my new pet Gabrielle also. Hoping that this time, everything would be alright, and somewhere, there would be a happy Gabi cat in the world, and I am terrified that she isn't ok. I don't really know what to look for in a pet...and if she does end up getting sick, what kind of cat-mommy am I? I love kitties, I always have, but what if, the first time I try to deal with having one of my own, what if I screw up? It is really freaking me out, because she seems fine, but she is sneezing ALOT and has thrown up twice in the past 48 hours. I know, stupid worry, and TMI, but you asked for what I worry the most about, and for now, Gabi is it. She is still eating and drinking, and she is hardly sitting still. In fact, if I hadn't cleaned up the throw up, I wouldn't even know she had. The vet came last week to check her out, and he said he didn't think that anything serious was wrong and that her symptoms should fade...they haven't yet, but the things he told me to look for haven't happened yet either. What if I am just missing them, and she is dying and I am just fundamentally doing something wrong. I very much want for her to be ok, and I am very much worried about her. I am sorry to use a fear that is so much in the present, but I seriously doubt I will ever stop worrying about whether or not I am doing a good job of taking care of her, so maybe in that sense it can be viewed as a fundamental fear of failure. Only in this case, if I fail, she might die.
long term fear: My longest ever term fear is that I won't be good enough. I am always secretly afraid that no matter what I try (even this application) that I will manage, with astounding success to screw it up. A example of this fear in action: I am a very smart person, I know that I am, but if someone asks me a question that I am not prepared for, my mind goes blank, and I do exactly what I fear...I screw up and look stupid. I really hate that, and thus start babbling, appearing even stupider...it is a fantastic, cyclic catch-22.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire? No. I know I am smart, and I am very good at what I do, but I am simply not that good. I tend to doubt myself and my abilities to the extreme, if something doesn't come easily; I always fear that I can't do it. This is true even when I know others have faith in me and my abilities. In the case of the Goblet of Fire, the specific reason I wouldn't enter is because there would be other people whose lives depended on me, I just couldn't take the risk that I would freeze up and they would die. Yes, I know that none of the hostages were ever in any real danger, and that several of the champions screwed up, but I just am not sure I want to put myself in a position where other peoples lives depend on my abilities. My only talent lies in engineering, and yes, I know that especially with my aspirations for my future in aerospace engineering, my work, and thus my abilities would be directly related to people's lives. However, I do not see that as the same thing. A champion has only himself and his wits (and in Harry's case, Dobby) to rely on. In industry, one person is never solely responsible for a specific factor of a design. There are always built in factors of safety, fail safes, and redundant parts, and while we all know that plenty of these over engineered gizmos have failed, the failure was never the fault of one specific designer, and 8 times out of 10, the cause of the failure was not in the design but rather in the political administration. *insert long rant here about the aerospace industry* To sum it up, I do not feel qualified to be responsible for a person's life, when I am the only one I can rely on. I might have the skill and the ability, but I don't trust it, and the glory isn't worth the sacrifice. <-this would be that long term fear rearing its ugly head...

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it? Greatest weapon? I recall the first time I read this question, I was thinking of a literal weapon, and my first thought was: "in the modern day, it is very rare that someone actually knows how to use an actual weapon...and I don't really recall much in the way of weapons use beyond Gryffindor's sword...” As I stated in my original application, due to some fluke of nature, I am actual trained to use an actual weapon, or in my case, a set of weapons. I have been training for 3 years in the art of fighting with two swords, one long and one short sword. So...in the literal sense, that would be my greatest weapon. It is the only one I know how to use ^_^
However, having put that on my previous application...I realize that is not what you mean by greatest weapon. That said: I believe my greatest weapon is my ability to use logic. My father often tells me that I missed my calling as a lawyer. I can literally talk circles around just about anyone on any topic...I am not as good at it if I don't have some background in the subject, but I can usually BS my way through just about anything. I guess you could say I have this innate ability to confuse, confound, and to deliberately twist words the wrong way. This might just sound like a something that would just annoy if encountered, and honestly, I often do annoy people who try and argue with me. (Not that that has ever stopped anyone from trying...), however, if applied correctly in an appropriate situation, a weapon such as mine can be terribly useful. An example of practical use: on the bus, crazy stranger approaches and refuses to not have a conversation with me...*engage super weapon* I can now talk to strange creepy guy for the rest of the ride, twisting the conversation so that it is really only him talking to himself, I just supply the intermediary dialogue. This skill is also useful when trying to get someone to tell you something they shouldn't. I would say that you can compare my operating parameters to that of Luna Lovegood, with the exception that my dad isn't the editor for the Onion and I tend to read it right-side-up.

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect? I could do it, but I wouldn't. This is not to say that I wouldn’t be an excellent role model, I have the ability, but it is more the ‘always working’ aspect of being a prefect or an RA that drives me off. I do not like the idea that no matter what I was doing, everyone would always expect me to behave a certain way. I am not very good at being good. I am certainly not a George or Fred, but I am known for being a good and a prankster, and I really enjoy having fun with people and wouldn't want to give it up. One of my favorites it to steal discarded shoes, fill them with water and freezer them. It is great fun, when after 7 or 8 hours of hw, the party finally breaks up, and someone goes "do any of you know where my shoe is?", everyone (even me) looks diligently for a minute or so until offended party suddenly recalls whose house we are at and what happens to people who visit my house. (Somewhere between the diligent looking and the sudden realization, I run away...)

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess?
The quality I prize above all others is honesty. In relation to my life, that comes in multiple strains (and is also the reason that Lupin is one of my favorite characters, he simply accepted who and what he was, and did his best to live with it.) To me honesty is more then just telling the truth, it's about facing the truth, in all its manifestations. It is true that the truth can hurt, sometimes cut really deep, but I truly feel that I would rather face myself as who and what I really am over trying to live up to the person I am expected to be. If I lie to myself about some flaw in my personality, it doesn't change the fact that the flaw exists, and further, if I deny its existence, then I cannot do anything to remedy the flaw. When I said "all its manifestations" I meant it. Honesty is everything from how you face yourself, how you treat your friends, how you view other people, how you evaluate your experiences. I am far from perfect, but pure and simple honesty is a goal that I constantly strive for. I know that I will always pull the wool over my own eyes about something, but part of being honest is owning up to the fact that I can never be perfectly honest with myself. That said: I definitely feel that honesty is a quality that both I and the people I surround myself with possess. One of my favorite things about my friends is the fact that they are simply who they are. They do not go to any extra lengths to try and be something they aren't. They do not try and impress anyone, each one of them is firmly under the impression that if you do not like who they are, then that is just too bad for you, and that is not to say that I like everything about every one of my friend's personalities. Some of their traits drive me up the wall, but on the other hand, I can always count on them always being...them...it's refreshing to be able to drop all the walls and just be. If you have a question, you ask, and even if the answer is difficult, you will be answered. Blunt, straightforward honesty, no stories to remember, no games, no wondering and imagining...you know. As I said, base honesty of this sort is not all fun and games, sometimes, the honest part really hurts, but at the same time, as I keep repeating, there are no doubts, pain or not, there is no confusion. (odd side note: I was reading over some of the recently submitted applications and was horrified to realize that I had managed to...lose...two questions...I know this is horribly long...especially since I have spent so very long working on it..but...I lost questions and I don't know where they went. Obviously I replaced them...but I don't recall eliminating them in the first place...very strange..this came to mind because this was one of the questions I lost...this one and #14)

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way?
Close Mindedness: I just get so irritated when a person can't see beyond the black and the white, and as I tend to be on the "wrong" side of the line for a lot of issues (e.g. pro-choice, pro-animal testing, pro-gay whatever, pro-equal opportunity, etc.) That said: I am always willing to hear people if they feel like having a discussion...what drives me crazy are the people who won't listen back...very hypocritical. The world simply isn't black and white, and it is honestly not a good thing to try and see it that way. Even if hearing out an opposing position only increases your own feelings on a particular issue, at least you have heard both sides, and can defend your opinion with a well rounded and thought out answer.
Hypocritical: I also really dislike hypocrites. Sadly, on occasion, even I am a hypocrite (to say otherwise would be hypocritical) but it does bother me very much when people set a certain standard for other people that they can't even uphold themselves.
Liars: I dislike the entire concept of lying. I am never one to play with the truth: it is what it is and that's all there is to it. I used to lie an awful lot when I was kid...even about things that I didn't really need to lie about. One day, I just stopped. I can't honestly remember why…since then, I stopped playing all games, I do not play girly games with my boyfriend, if I am pissed, I don't wait for him to notice, I tell him, and the blunt honesty between us makes our relationship very solid. It would be true to say that I have sometimes said things to him that really hurt him, and vice versa, but there was never any wondering what the other person thought. I like that; it makes things so much simpler.
Racism: People who are racist just irritate me beyond reason. Example: on the bus this morning, someone behind me told a joke about a white woman and a Native American woman. It took all the self control I had not to turn around and yell at the joke teller for telling such a tasteless joke. I am lucky in that in my life, I have never really encountered racism...not really. I am a white middle class American citizen who went to good schools (despite my inability to use grammar or spell correctly...) I honestly wasn't really exposed to any kind of diverse culture, I mean truly different from anything I have ever known until college...but I was raised to believe that people are just people, and they might be different from me, but that's ok. I am really glad I have never really encountered racism, just thinking about it, I can feel the anger in my heart...I would get really mad...which is kind of bad...I mean...is it racist to not like racists? Either way, I don't...
There are many other heinous qualities that I think people should avoid, but those are my top four.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?hmmm...right at this moment? If I was to stand in front of the mirror right now (literally this second...), I would see my boyfriend, my two best friends, and myself hanging out together relaxing. I would be leaning against my boyfriend, and my two best friends would be nearby and we'd all be laughing, maybe even drinking ^_^. No stupid school work to distract us or stress us out...it would just be us, being us. This desire come from the fact that one of my best friends graduated in may and moved to CA, my other best friend and my boyfriend are both taking senior projects this year, and I am busy with my own classes. I do not blame any of us, but I do miss having time to just be. I know that we will have time in the future to relax and chill, but in the meantime, I miss them, and that is literally all there is to it.

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends? I do not have many friends. All told, not including my family, I have 4 true friends. They all have many different pieces of them that appeal to me but fundamentally, the qualities that they share are as follows: They are all open minded people, they look at the world and aren't afraid of it. They aren't afraid to stand up to me. I have been told that I am very scary and that I intimidate people. These four people are not afraid of me in the slightest, and are perfectly willing to slap me across the face if I need it. I really appreciate that in a friend. They are all "real" people, they are who they are, regardless of what the world may think about that, and each one is unique. They are all learners. They have a vested interest in all sorts of things. One is a computer geek and can code or build anything electronical (yes...I said electronical, and I meant it.) Another builds chain mail, is obsessed with the ancient mythological world and adores languages, and yet is a modern day bi-sexual punk. Her sister shares her interests, and has the unique major combination of anthropology and aerospace engineering...I have told her more then once that she likes the future and past, but can't stand the present ^_^ The last one is just talented at whatever he tries to do (except dance...he really can't dance..) For the firefly fans, if you cut the dance part of the quote out, Simon's description of River would describe this last person well: "River was more than gifted. She was..a gift. Everything she did, music, maths, theoretical physics -- even dance -- there was nothing that didn't come as naturally to her as breathing does to us." As I said, leave off the dance. :P
Explaining why I love my friends is very difficult. I just do. They are "good peoples". Unique and learned, interested in all sorts of things, but most importantly, each one of them just is. By that I mean, they aren't fakers or pretending to be anything they aren't. They are just content to be the person they are, and I really enjoy how every person that I would bother to spend time with falls into that category...and that goes beyond the 4 really good friends. All told, I have 10 friends, and they are all like that...I just know the 4 better.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort? I would compare Voldemort to Hitler.

Everyone done freaking out? Good, then I shall explain. (I would like to point out here that I am Jewish and I have the following opinion): Hitler was a genius. He did horrible things, really amazingly awful, and destroyed the lives of countless people...but what he did was very impressive...he mobilized a society to believe whatever he told them. He took advantage of their bitterness over the results of WWI and molded it to his will. Voldemort did the same. His target followers were those who believed in the purity of blood, and in learning of all magics. This may seem like a weird place to draw a quote from, but I think Emperor Palpatine said it quite well in "Revenge of Sith": "The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be unnatural." That is not the full quote, but it is all that I could find easily. I recall the complete quote as being something along the lines of: "If you want to understand the force completely, you have to be willing to learn all that the force has to offer, good and bad." In addition, Voldemort, like Hitler, was a hypocrite, he encouraged the mass killings of mud bloods and yet he himself was a mud blood. Hitler said that anyone with a grandparent who was Jewish was Jewish themselves, and thus, a candidate for the camps, but yet Hitler had a Jewish grandfather...so technically, he qualified for his own roundup. However, the extreme loyalty of his followers ensured that none would turn on him. I do not like Hitler, in fact, I hate him. I hate what he stood for, I hate what did, and I would like to say that I don't have respect for him, but that would be a lie. I have a lot of respect for what he did, even if it gives me nightmares. I think the best I have ever heard it said was in the movie variety of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. After Harry finds the right wand, Mr. Ollivander said "Oh, we do not speak his name! But I think it is clear that we can expect great things from you, Mr. Potter. After all, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things also. Terrible, yes! But great."

17. What do you think are your main 3 characteristics? This is a tough question, because it doesn't indicate if you are looking for positive and negative characteristics. I also think it is hard to tie an entire person down to just 3 characteristics. Human beans are complicated little things (yes. I said beans and I meant beans...think BFG.) Having said that, the 3 basic characteristics that define my personality are blunt honesty, sadistic sarcasm (I have a wicked sense of humor), and determination.
Blunt Honesty: My thoughts on honesty have already been expressed, but just so no-one gets mad and tells me that my answer isn't long enough (although, if you have made it this far, and are still reading, you get a gold star...this thing is...perhaps a little long...just a little ^_^) So yea, me and blunt honesty: the truth is best in all situations, and trying to sweet talk the truth just makes it all the harder to hear. Regardless of the price, I think it is always best just to speak the truth, no frosting. I find it makes life just that much clearer and easier to understand.
Sadistic Sarcasm: I think everything is funny. It is literally that simple. If you walk into a wall or a door, I will laugh at you. I am fully of all kinds of happy little thoughts that make fun of just about everything I see. Sometimes I share such thoughts, but 99.9% of the time, those thoughts are the "you kind of had to be here" sorts of things, and as none of you are actually in fact sitting here next to me, you will just have to be deprived of my glorious sense of humor. I am not sure if I should pity you or congratulate you.
Determination: When I set my mind on something, I don't give up. When I decided I wanted to major in aerospace engineering, I ran into my first obstacle with Calc 2. During the first go, I had a friend decide to up and die on me. For some strange reason, I didn't do well that semester. I also did not pass calc. Not even close. So I took it again. That time, due to some idiot alien possessing my brain, (I honestly don't know what happened...) I just decided not to do my homework. I aced all the exams, but homework was 30% of the grade, so I got a 68%, which translated as a D+. By most standards, that is pitiful, but passing. Not so for the school of engineering. So I took Calc 2 a third time, and aced it. I could have decided at any point in there that perhaps Aero wasn't for me and found some other major, but I knew that I wanted to do aerospace engineering. So I did what I had to do to get what I wanted. Once I pick a path, and it finds its place in my heart, deterring me is next to impossible.

18. What house do you feel you belong in? I think I belong in Ravenclaw. I say Ravenclaw because I am geek, plain and simple. I like learning, understanding, applying, and learning more. I absolutely adore it when I can see how all the little pieces fit together. For example, in Aero, first years take structures, materials, aerodynamics, and thermodynamics. Second years take all the same courses, but during second year, the intricate relationships between the different disciplines are the focus, rather then the fundamentals. I thought it was the coolest thing ever to put the whole picture together and come out with a cohesive understanding of how and why planes fly. Totally awesome. :) Also, despite my adventures with Calc 2, I am really good at math, and I derive great joy (yes, someone slap me) from working out really hard problems, just to see if I can. That is what I do for fun on airplanes and road trips. That or logic puzzles. I _love_ logic puzzles ^_^ (I grant you that I can not speak English, and have horrible grammar, but for what it is worth, I am well aware of that fact, and used MS Word to spell and grammar check this monstrosity before posting it. Yes, it's true that MS Word's spell/grammar checker is not exactly perfect, but I guarantee that it is better then me...)

19. "Blood or water" - Which is more important; friends or family? I won't choose. I do not have very many friends and the friends I have might as well be my family...but I am also very close to my immediate family. Having written that and re-read it, if you are willing to accept on faith that the few friends I have are in fact a part of my family (the rest of my family loves them and has adopted them and surrogate sons and daughters) then I guess I choose family. My family is my resource, my safety, my knowledge base, my support, and my sanity. I saw a great quote for college kids once: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again...and then call mom." That made me laugh, but if you like your family, and I do, it is so very true. I feel the most comfortable, safe and loved when I am at my parent’s house (mine for a long while too) and my whole family is there. We don't have to be in the same room, in fact, we usually aren't. I just take great solace that they are there and that they love me. I would miss them more then I can say if I were to lose them.

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite? Of course I've read all six books. I like all of them equally--every 'year' the character's grow and mature into young adults (close enough). But if I HAD to choose a book, I'd pick HBP--Jo gives so many hints in the book; leaves lots of room for theories.
4. Which house qualities do you value most? Courage, intelligence, determination, kindness, acceptance--I think that'd make for a great person.
5. What are your pet peeves? Hm... I hate it when people take stuff that doesn't belong to them without asking. People discriminating other's whether it be there size-weight or height, race, creed, sex, or the fact that they don't buy the latest fashions--it's utterly pointless! Hell I just wear what I like and that's that--don't like it don't F****** look.
6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The animal chooses you, you don’t choose it.) I think I'd be a cat--cute but deadly. I'm nice and sweet but when you screw with me I turn nasty; nails and all... Besides I'm sneaky and curious and being a cat I could sneak about undetected and satisfy my curiousity.

I worry about ..well everything basically--I worry about choices I had and have made, whether they were right, wrong or good enough at that point in time. I worry about my family because something bad seems to happen to every few years--but we always seem to pull through.

I don't want to admit this but my greatest weapon would be my ability to convince other's to either do, get, give, buy something for me or follow me. I don't know how I do it--I'm quite the big mouth so I just go on and on until that person does it...sad really. But it gets me what I want/need and I do it every day, without realizing it. But again, if it means life or death; or to succeed I'll convince someone to do it.

Loyalty--you've gotta admire someone who stands by a friend or enemy regardless of what they have done--even if they're guilty. A few people around me are that loyal, myself included; regardless of how much I HATE my eldest brother, I stood by him when no-one else would in our family.
13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way? Stupidity, dishonestly, and (over the top) cruelty. Everyone shares these qualities, but too much makes for a terrible person. Nobody likes an idiot that just does stupid things/asks. I just hate cruel, stupid and dishonest people, but granted everyone's that way to a degree; it cannot be helped.
14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see? My entire (living and not) family standing outside in the snow, watching it fall--content and happy in the moment....

I was harmed as a child and from it I don't trust easily and people lose my trust like that. Around the board they're all accepting of other's flaws--they accept my weird and strange nature for what it is and of course me.. no matter how nasty and touchy I become.

I already spoke about loyalty--I stand by my enemies and friends even if they deserved what they got; but I can never seem to say 'no' to someone. I am smart, though I (was forced) dropped out of high school last year--for god sakes I read constantly and write all the time... but I hated homework, never did the crap, made up some lie...oops? (I'm not trying to push for a house! I'm being truthful here) I'm beyond accepting when my ex (after we broke up) told me he was gay, I didn't scream at him or even think about kicking his ass; I hugged him and said that was okay--in all honesty I thought as much. I welcome everyone I meet with open arms and blunt honesty--shit happens and I don't understand why everyone puts up a front and hassle when someone who doesn't 'look right' or 'sound right' to them..it's goddamn retarded! Just accept other's and life'll be somewhat simpler.

I have six friends that are really close to me, and I dont think I could live without... 3 guys and 3 girls. I think the reasons why we are so close is because I feel as though I can trust them with anything and everything. They are my reason for living, my everything. They are also understanding and easy to talk to, and they can make me laugh easily.
16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?Voldemort.. hmmm... I think he is messed up in the head, honestly. He Kind of reminds me of Hitler, because he is killing off people in much the same fashion as Hitler did during World War II. I think if he had some theropy as a child, he wouldn't have turned out the way he has.

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite?
I've read all six books numerous times. My favorite is Half Blood Prince because I really felt like Harry was growing up and I could take him seriously. I also enjoyed reading about Malfoy doing something more substantial than just calling Hermione a Mudblood. And I'd be lying if I said all the romance within it didn't help the cause. :-) Me loves me some good shipping and all my ships sailed so whee! Sorry if I sound like I'm gloating but shipping + me = unhealthy obsession. God, I've completely digressed, haven't I? Yes I have. Back to the books. Before HBP my favorite was Goblet of Fire because of the Tournament and the other schools and I will forever have a soft spot for Chamber of Secrets. Why? Because I got to see another House common room (I'd love to see all the common rooms but alas, that will never be. I really wonder how the rest look.) and it felt like the first real book because SS/PS was all about introducing us to the universe and in CoS we could just enjoy ourselves.

This is a dangerous question. Many of you Squibbed me the last time because of this question. So my answer this time will be quite long and thought-out and when you're scratching your fingers down your face because it's not over yet you'll only have yourselves to blame for scaring me about this question. First of all, I admire all of the qualities from all of the houses. I can find something I like about each one but that is not the question. The question can be found by looking up where it's bolded and it has a 4 next to it and in case you're lazy, here it is again, from my perspective, which house qualities do I value most?

Personally, first and foremost (and I'm not trying to push goddamnit!) I value intelligence (I guess this is a Ravenclaw trait). Without it, I'm sorry, you're lost. I think 24/7. People will IM me in usual teenage fashion and will say, "hey larissa, what's up? whatcha doin?" and I won't say "just chillaxin, u?" and I will say, "thinking" and then after a moment remember to be polite and ask them what they're doing. And if I'm not thinking I'm reading. I read all the time and anything I can get my hands on. I lug about six reading books to school each day in my handy-dandy messenger bag (not satchel, sadly) to ward off boredom. A wall in my bedroom from the ceiling to the floor is covered in books and I have more in a large closet downstairs. But even beyond booksmarts I value intelligence in life. The knowledge needed to make logical choices. Because without the right choices you can't make the right plans. Whew, that's a lot on intelligence, isn't it?

I also value loyalty to ones’ peers. (Hufflepuff/Slytherin trait) If there’s one thing I can honestly say about myself it’s that I have never let down a friend. I always have a very…elite (I guess that’s the right word) circle of friends because I don’t get along with many people so I make it my business to stand by those who I do. In fact, I’ve been told a great many times that I’m loyal to a fault and I guess that may be true.

5. What are your pet peeves?
I have so many! I am possibly the most easily-irritated person ever to walk the earth. We'll ignore the big things like ignorance and blind patriotism and homophobia and racism and my stance on abortion because that's just an argument waiting to happen.

Let's start with chewing gum. I hate the thing and I hate the act. I don't like chewing on it myself, I don't like watching other people chew, and I don't like how it looks after it's been chewed when someone's rolling it between their fingers or something *shudders*. There is nothing grosser.
No, wait, there is.

When food gets anywhere on a person that's not in their mouth. It can be around the mouth, in their hair, near their ear, on their finger...it's just nauseating to me. I have developed a tolerance though. I won't vomit from it anymore. When I was eight, a girl in my class had a piece of tuna dangling from her pinky. I barely made it to the toilet in time.

When people use "LOL" in an online conversation that is inappropriate for laughing out loud. A girl I know uses it with every sentence she says. And when I'm talking about something serious or how upset I am and she's using "LOL", it really pisses me off.

Oh, how about them MySpaces. I just don't know why they irritate me so. It's the politics of it. That's it. Ashlee tells Mandy that Mandy looks "hotttt" in a picture that Mandy took of herself in her underwear using a mirror and Mandy gets to say it back to a black & white model-esque picture of Ashlee "rocking the aviators". See what I mean?

The song "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani. That replaced "So Yesterday" by Hilary Duff as the song that launched a thousand radio station changes. To summarize my hatred for both songs: Gwen, I know how to spell the word bananas. And Hilary, if the light is off then of course it isn't on!
*breathes deeply* Okay, done with the pet peeves now.

6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The animal chooses you, you don’t choose it.)
At first I thought I'd end up as some kind of a feline because my favorite way to spend an afternoon is relaxing and grooming myself. But then I gave it more thought and now I think I'd be a scorpion. Not only because that's my zodiac sign but because of how scorpions are naturally. They have a shell which prevents other creatures from getting too close and I definitely have some kind of emotional shell or barrier which keeps people away. Scorpions also sting if you cross them and believe me when I say, you don't want to cross me.

I'll be honest when I say most of the things I fear are figurative. I fear death and I fear infertility but those aren't things a Boggart could become. So I'd have to say a cockroach. Big or small, those things freak me out. They can survive nuclear war. Anything that can survive nuclear war needs to stay far, far away from me.

This will sound rather general but I'm most worried that things won't work out the way they're supposed to. I always have a plan and I'm constantly worried that my plans (AKA my life) will just fall apart and I wouldn't be able to pick up the pieces, so to speak.

Nope. Definitely not.

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it?
Wow, greatest weapon. I still think it's my ability to make plans. My ability to calculate risk in any situation. I'm constantly aware of what needs to be done and not to toot my own horn but I think I generally have a good idea of how it needs to be done. So I use this weapon daily, it's my means to succeed.

The thing is, I’m not entirely satisfied by this answer so I decided to ask two people close to me what they thought (I didn’t tell them what it was for). If you think that’s wrong or cheating, feel free to skip the next bit.

My ex-boyfriend who I’m still close to thinks my greatest weapon is “deception”. When asked to explain he said, quote, “You are very convincing in certain aspects…(it’s) taken me years to become immune”. I was really surprised by his answer actually. I felt a bit bad.

My best friend gave multiple answers. She said: “1) Your amazing memory. No one can ever be just a little unspecific so you'll correct them and that pisses a lot of people off. Plus, it can be used if people are trying to get you and lie to you. They won't because they know it's a bad idea. 2) Another is the way you can steer a conversation without making it look like you're steering…This is good for wheedling or forcing information out of people.”

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect?
Me? Telling people what to do? Where ever would you get that idea? Haha. But seriously, yes. I'd like that. I'm a bossy-boots. And there's the bathroom. I love my bubble baths. I also love the authority that I would no-doubt abuse. Oh and hello, you get a badge.

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess?
As I said, the last time I applied: ambition. I may value intelligence but I admire ambition. For eleven years all I wanted to do was be an actress. From the time I was four, when I came home from kindergarten and announced, much to my parents' amusement, that I was through with homework and I was moving to Hollywood to wear kinky clothes. I did say kinky. And I did throw my backpack down with flair. And I started lessons that weekend. From 1993 to 2004 I took acting lessons. I stopped then to give myself a much-needed break but I do intend to take it up again. I also intend to get a Ph.D in English literature. Any friends I've had who weren't as ambitious didn't stay my friends for long. For instance, a former friend of mine graduated high school two years early. At first I thought, "Wow, he'll make something of himself. He already is making something of himself." But he spent those two free years in his mother's basement playing video games and feeling sorry for himself.

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way?
Stupidity and laziness really go hand in hand and I think those are terrible qualities but even more than that; dishonesty. When you can’t be honest with others you can never really be honest with yourself and vice versa. It’s a terrible thing. And the worst quality I think one can possess.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
Myself happy and laughing with my wonderful husband and our beautiful children on a comfortable sofa.

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends?
Not many. I don't trust people easily so I don't have a large amount of true friends. The friends I have are fun to talk to and to be around. They've got more than one personality, if you understand me. They're not always cheerful or always boy-crazy or always philosophical--but they are sometimes. Most of all, my true friends accept me. They’re aware of my flaws but they’re accepting of them and honestly, who could ask for more?

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?
He is a genius. Albeit, an evil one. Even if you don't want to admit it, I will. Other than that I don't really give him much thought. He is who he is; the Dark Lord, You-Know-Who; though I tend to call him Voldemort 'cause I'm not superstitious...I don't think he's got a soft-side beneath the evil or anything. That theory was cemented by HBP; he was evil, born evil. I truly believe that.

17. What do you think are your main 3 characteristics?
Honesty, ambition and intellect. Someone requested the last time that I go into depth a bit more about these. I've already talked about the intellect and the loyalty so I'll go into the honesty thing. I am blunt and honest to a fault. I'll tell lies, don't get me wrong, but generally the truth can hurt more than any well-thought-out lie and the truth will ultimately set you free. I feel as long as you can embrace yourself honestly for who you truly are, then you're a person worth living and ultimately, worth knowing.

18. What house do you feel you belong in?
Last time I applied people said I was pushing for two houses and that I'd eliminated the other two. I'd like to make it clear that you can put me in any house and I'd be fine with it. I don't hate any house and I'm really not picky. I don't want to specify a house if only because I don't want to sway your decision in any specific way.

I think family has less to do with blood and more to do with bonding. My closest friends aren’t related to me by blood but believe me when I say, they are my family.

I have read all 6 Harry Potter books. My favourite was "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" because I feel this is the first book in which we start to see the characters true personalities. In the first two books we mostly learned about Harry's background and Rowling still had to set up the story line, but in the third book we start to see what truly makes the characters tick, what makes them behave the way they do. You learn more about their families and they start to come more together as a group. This is the first book in which I started to become attached to the characters as people.
4. Which house qualities do you value most?
I most value cunning and courage. I value cunning because society today has become completely dog eat dog. You have to know how to get what you want using any means possible. Sometimes you do have to lie and scheme to get your way and if you aren't capable of it it can be difficult to obtain your goals. I also value courage. My one goal in life is to try to change society in some way. I want my name to be remembered as doing something great, but to do something great you have to have the courage to go against the beliefs of several people and speak out about what you believe is right. I admire more than any other the people in history that have had the courage to speak up for what they believed in.
5. What are your pet peeves?
My biggest pet peeves are:
1. People that don't use correct grammar. I am a grammar fanatic. I'm always correcting people on their spelling and such. It tends to drive my friends crazy but it drives me more crazy when they don't get it right.

2. People that talk too much. I hate when someone's trying to make a point and they just can't think of the way to word it so they aimlessly talk until they figure out what they were trying to say. Either get to the point or give up!

I think I would be a Siberian Tiger. Siberian tigers are so majestic and mysterious, yet if you're around them enough (such as a trainer or something) you can see that they actually have personalities and can be playful at times. Tigers are often seen as ferocious or an animal that would automatically kill you, but if you treat them right they won't hurt you.

My Boggart would probably turn into a clown. When I was younger my older sister had a collection of clown dolls. Every night before I went to bed she would tell me they would come alive and attack me in my sleep. I used to, and sometimes still do, get terrible nightmares about clowns eating me alive.

One of the biggest things I worry about is being abandoned. I always worry that one day everyone will just stop loving me and leave. I'm not really sure why. Just one of those pathetic insecurities I guess.

Yes, I would put my name in the Goblet of Fire. Succeed or fail I would still get recognition and become well known, and it would be a good goal to try to achieve on a personal level.

I believe one of the greatest weapons I possess is my ability to hide emotions. Happy, sad, embarrassed, whatever … no matter how I'm feeling if I don't want people to know that's how I'm feeling at the time I can hide it until I'm alone and can do something to release that emotion.

I would love to be a prefect. I enjoy extra responsibilities at times I often like being in power and having something structured to occupy my time. Also, it would make it easier to stay out of trouble and keep my friends out of trouble.

Above all others I admire creativity. To succeed in life you have to think of creative ways to stand out from the rest of the crowd. If you're just like everyone else you can't get anywhere in life. The people I surround myself with are some of the most creative people I know and I try to be. As much as I try to be creative it is still something I work on and try to make an effort to incorporate into my daily life, as with everything I try to be.
13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way? The worst qualities a person can possess are the habit of complaining and not caring about the future. I hate when people complain (even though I can be accused of it at times) because if you sit around and complain about it you won't change anything. Get up! Do something, don't just sit around and complain, that won't change anything. I also dislike when people don't care about what's going to happen to them. Far too many of the people around me don't care about their education. It's very important (especially at my age) to start thinking about what you're going to do with your life and if you don't care how hard you work now you're not going to have a good life in the future.
14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
If I were to look into the mirror of Erised I would see myself ten years from now happily married with at least three kids living in a nice little cottage on the western coast of Ireland. More than anything I want to grow up and start my life independent of my immediate family. I have always loved kids and hope to eventually have several, but I've also always wanted to be a young mother. I still want to remember what it was like to be a teenager while my kids are in their teen years. Also, I've always had a strong connection to Ireland even though I'm not of Irish decent. To live in Ireland would be the ultimate dream come true.
15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends?
I only have about four people that I consider true friends. Above all other qualities they are loyal, I can trust them, and I know they aren't going to talk bad about me behind my back or spread rumours bout me. These people are my friends because they've seen me at my worst, they don't care and neither do I. They stood by me when all the other people I considered friends abandoned me and for that I'll always be grateful.
16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?
I believe Voldemort is widely misunderstood. At this stage in his life the things he has done are unforgivable, but I think if someone had cared enough when he was younger he would not have turned out the way he did. He was just someone who was slightly brainwashed as a child and became too power hungry for his good. Then once he obtained all his power I don't really think he learned how to properly use or control it. If someone would have stepped in and taught him a different way of life things could have turned out much differently.
17. What do you think are your main 3 characteristics?
My three main characteristics are:
1. Forgiveness - no matter what anyone does to me I'll give them a second chance. It could be the most horrendous thing possible and I'll still give you one opportunity to amend it. Although, I will be tentative around you during this one opportunity and if you screw that up I will do everything in my power to wish you hadn't.

2. Trust - This isn't really a good characteristic, but it is one of the things I am well known for. I do not trust anyone until they earn trust from me. It takes a while for me to trust anyone, but once I do they become the best of friends.

3. Shy- I am very shy. As much as I enjoy meeting new people it is very hard for me to open up and be myself around them.
18. What house do you feel you belong in?
This is a very difficult question I often ask myself, which is actually a large part of the reason I'm putting in an application here, but I think it would be Gryffindor. I like the courage that Gryffindor's have. They seem very prideful and there's good interaction and little animosity between the house members.

I believe both are very important, but it has to be friends over family. You don't get to choose your family, and sometimes your family won't be anymore trusting or loyal than the worst of friends. But you get to choose your friends and if you choose the right ones they can become closer than any family member ever has been.

I elaborated all right. Some are short as to keep you readers awake.

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite?
Yes. The Goblet of Fire was my favorite. I hated to read, so my sister talked me into reading Goblet. She actually read me the first chapter, then went to take a shower. I stole the book and continued to read it, having never read the first 3. Once I finished that book, I read the rest in reverse order, and since I was a little confused, I read them again, chronologically. It made a lot more sense after that. The action was almost non-stop, friendships grew greater then ever. You actually saw growth from the 3rd book to the 4th. Being a huge fan of Quidditch, I loved the World Cup. You got to not only experience the sport, but you got a taste of what life was like during the first war. The chaos was rapid and not too predictable. The fourth book will always hold a special place in my heart because it got me reading books. I read a few books a week, and it’s due to The Goblet of Fire.
Prisoner of Azkaban was also one of my favorites. It was filled with action and suspense that kept you reading. I think the fact that for the first time Harry wasn’t alone made it a good book. Harry’s had Hermione and Ron, but for the first time, he had Sirius, a connection made to the most important person in his parent’s life. That connection to Sirius made Harry feel like he had a part of his parent’s once more.
Order of the Phoenix was amazing as well. Yet again you got a taste of what life was like growing up when Voldemort was in power. You saw the angst-y Harry who was mad at the world, a Hermione who cleverly came up with the DA, Ron who held his loyalty through and through. Umbridge was horrible, and you loved hating her. You got a better look on how Sirius was treated in his own home. Kreacher was a nuisance and you wanted to see him dismissed.
Half-Blood Prince was fantastic, if not a little short for my taste. I thought everything moved a little too fast. Before you knew it, Christmas was there. Then you were on Ron’s birthday. I hated the pacing. You didn’t really get to see events unfold, only Harry’s obsession with Draco and hocruxes. I loved Slughorn, just because he wasn’t Snape. And Snape? Well, I don’t really care what you think, he’s still on the good side. Why? Dumbledore doesn’t plead for his life.

4. Which house qualities do you value most?
Hufflepuff-
Loyalty- ‘Puffs are incredibly loyal. I love being around someone I know won’t let me down. Loyalty is something that I find in the most books I read. If I love a book, it’s usually because the main character has revealed his loyalties or has kept his loyalty through the whole book. The issue of Snape and where his loyalty lies has never crossed my mind. Even though one of my favorite characters’s died at his hand, I still feel like he’s loyal. That’s what makes me excited for the final book.

Slytherin –
Cleverness- The Slytherins are amazingly clever. They seem to always find a new way to solve the problem. I love the fact that they always seem to have a new idea. And I think they’re funny about what they do. They’re not uptight, and they are very talented at Quidditch. The cleverness shows in almost every aspect of their lives. I love being around people who are always finding ways to get out of jams. They always seem to know the right people. Slytherin is a good house, no matter what others think.

Gryffindor-
Bravery- Gryffindors seem to know all about bravery. They are always willing to risk their necks for someone they care about. I love thinking that I could trust someone so much to know that I would never have to ask for a favor. I’ve always wanted to feel that kind of care and friendship. The fact that they take care of people and protecting themselves and others is so cool. They have a good Quidditch team and seem to balance life well. When they get into trouble, they don’t bail you out: they’re sitting next to you.

Ravenclaw-
Intelligence- ‘Claws are ridiculously brilliant. They could outthink even the smartest of people. Einstein would have rejoiced to see what brilliance is in one house. I love being able to carry on decent conversations, and I would always have something to talk about in Ravenclaw. They would be the ones I’d want in a fight, because they could make easy decisions to change the end of a fight. I hope to make friends will the brilliance of Ravenclaw.

5. What are your pet peeves?
I can’t stand it when people act false to impress people. Being true to who you are is important, and those who only act certain ways to fit in are silly. I find that being true is important. If people don’t know who you really are, how can they gain your trust? Friendships that are built in a lie never last. It’s when you’re honest that lasting friendships grow. For years I’ve dealt with people who act fake to get what they want, and it’s only led to betrayal and deception. I tend to want to be with people I know are honest.
The best friendships, along with relationship, are all built on truths. You can’t act false to win someone’s heart, then become who you are once it’s too late. It’s that falseness that irritates me. I’m such a believer in true love, that when people lie to use someone for sexual or personal reasons, it makes me lose faith in humans. I know that people can be good, but some people are phony.
I hate it when people are hypocritical. It is people who think they are better then anyone else, but do the same thing themselves that make the world a difficult place to get along in. I work with people who will preach up and down about the wrongs you do, but they never actually live by what they say. I can’t stand them, and yet we have to learn how to deal with them. I deal with hypocrisy at work and I can’t stand it. People getting jobs who don’t earn that position. It’s bugs me to no end. I wish that people would realize that they can’t step on those to get higher up. They should work hard and have lots of determination and get it the hard way.

I think I would turn into a unicorn. Majestic creature, Unicorns hate to be ridiculed. I hate it when people tease me because I’m different. I’ve lost a little bit of trust in men, (no offense to those good ones out there. I just have yet to meet one.) so I tend to hang out with my girl friends more then any of my guy friends. Some people love me for my ‘magical abilities’. I can make anyone smile, and bring a room together, if only for a moment. I tend to unify those who are different. Unicorns are really pretty too. I think I have a pretty personality, and a lot of my friends feel the same. I might not be viewed as beautiful, but I’ve got a good heart, so that’s what matters.

My Boggart would turn into myself, selfish and alone. I’m terrified of not having anyone in my life. I would hate to find myself without any one to rely on. And I hate thinking only of myself. My thought and my money tend to go to helping others. If someone can’t buy lunch, it becomes my treat. Of course, I usually get paid back. I love my friends so much that I would hate to fins myself with no one to pull strength from.

8. What do you worry about the most and why? (Note: This is not the same thing that your Boggart becomes. Your biggest fear and your biggest worry are two different things.)
I worry about letting myself fall in love. I’ve been hurt when I’ve opened myself up to others. All my life I’ve dreamed of true love that happens in fairy tales, and I’ve searched for it as long as I remember. Yet my friend, who cheats on every guy she dates, seems to get more guys then I do. I’ve longed to date a guy for more then a few months, and I’m single. I hate to think all the guys out there are gone, but my faith has diminished. I’m afraid that if the right guy comes along, I’ll be blind to him, and won’t realize that he’s the one I want. I’m truly worried about falling in love. Getting hurt in the end doesn’t seem worth it. I hate to think that my happiness relies on a guy, but I’m sick of feeling alone. I have my friends… but I won’t get the love and passion that I would from a guy.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?
I think if I were of age, I’d place my name in the Goblet. I enjoy challenges and a chance to bring honor to my school. It’s almost like a personal duty to honor your house like that. I would make sure that if I did get picked; I would use my resources and ask my friends to help out. If I wasn’t picked, I’d still help whoever was picked and help them out as much as I could. I would help them study and review spells and work hard to give them all the help they can get.

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it?
I think my greatest weapon is my quick thinking. I can come up with new ideas on the drop of a hat. I tend to come up with ideas that others don’t think about. We put it into action and end up coming out on top in the end. I’m a pretty good leader, and that also goes along with my quick thinking. I love having a challenge to solve and make it my own. I hate to think that people would consider me stupid, but I know people do. And I hate to think that people are jealous of me, but can be. I’ve been told that people don’t like me because they think I try too hard. I try to lay back and let what happens, happen. But I can’t be an idle horse. I refuse to let others hold me back from my full potential.

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect?
I would adore being a prefect. I love setting the example for others. I enjoy helping others and enforcing rules. I don’t know why it makes happy to help others, but I love it. It’s the respect that you earn that makes it so appealing. I don’t mind the added responsibility. In fact, I thrive from it. When I have to do something, or get blamed for it I tend to make sure it gets done well. Pressure makes me learn faster and better. Why? I have no clue, but it tends to make my life easy.

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess?
The ability to love selflessly is a quality that I admire, and that I wish more people had. I think that too many people get into relationships to get what they want out of it. Not enough people realize that relationships should be about what you can give someone else. I hate being used, and if more people would stop worrying about sex, relationships would last longer. But it’s too much to ask in a world where we show sleeping around as a casual thing that every one does. It’s not enough that it shows cheating as a plus and something everyone does, but it shows people how not to have a good relationship. Am I think only one irked by that?

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way?
I think vanity is a horrible quality to possess. Looks aren’t everything. Thinking that looks are the only important thing is a bad habit to develop. I love my own, but if I were to lose them tomorrow, I’d still try to feel beautiful about the kind of person I was. It’s not something to be taken lightly. With the media putting importance on beauty, it’s hard for others not to believe that same thing.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
I would see myself in 10 years, finished with college. I’d be wearing an FBI Special Agent badge and I’d be smiling brightly. Behind me would be my friends and family, enjoying life with me. I’d have a child and a loving husband. I’d be successful and content, the excitement of my life would always be present. I think as long as I’m happy, I’d see what I wanted to in the mirror. I’ve had my desired for so long now that I don’t need a mirror to see that. I’ve wanted to be in the FBI since I was little, so it’s not like I don’t know what my heart wants.
But maybe, in all reality, I don’t know what my heart wants. All I know is that mirror might distract me from my real goals.

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends?
I consider 2 people my true friends. They tend to be honest and trustworthy, pretty forward and funny. We joke around and have fun doing whatever we can. Jackie and I have so much in common. We both work hard and dedicate time to our families and acquaintances. I would trust her with my life. Jackie’s my friend because she knows when to be serious and when to have fun. She and I can talk about anything and dance and goof off, but we’re down-to-earth when we need to be. Lisa is my other best friend because she’s what we call my predestined-best-friend. We have so much in common and know when the other is having a bad day. We can tell when the other needs a frappachino or a hug. We plan on doing as much as possible together. She’s my friend because of the fact that she can read my emotions. We can flip each other off as a sign of affection. She’s silly and kid-like. I love her like my sister.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?
I think Voldemort is an in-depth man that must be understood to be defeated. He’s very complex in his thinking, and has many traits that define him as a man. He’s not someone to be taken lightly. I can’t stand what he’s done in the past, or what he’s doing currently. He’s killed too many innocents to be forgiven.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s evil. That’s a fact. But he’s got a background that would be interesting to trace, further then even Dumbledore has. He’s a villain you really come to hate. Hocruxes are complicated, and he pulled them off. So even if he meets his end, if Harry hasn’t destroyed them all, then he can return. Which makes me wonder- Did Voldemort not die on October 31st because he still had hocruxes out there? Maybe it had nothing to do with Harry in reality, but his own creations? Of course, if that we the total case, then Harry would have died, but then we get into the mother’s love thing…
Oops, I strayed off the topic. Voldemort… good villain (oxymoron) and a well thought out player in the Harry Potter realm.

17. What do you think are your main 3 characteristics?
Easily Amused- Sometimes I have childish tendencies. I love going to watch a good Disney movie. I hold an importance in youth, and I love the fact that I can act like I’m 15 for a few more years. I love enjoying Disneyland with my family. I just adore being silly and happy all the time. I think people try to grow up way to fast. Holding that childish spirit makes me feel like I’m working on keeping the world as pleasant as possible.
Artistic- I can play 5 instruments- violin, viola, cello, bass and vocals. I can pick up new instruments easily. I feel that the ability to put flare into life is important. It’s music that helps simulate the mind and make learning easier. I’ve been into musical and such for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been in advance classes because of that. I work hard to improve my abilities musically and I love
Leadership- I value my leadership skills. I use to be in AFJROTC and was constantly a leader- not because no one else would, but because I was good from the beginning. I dedicated myself to the program, learning whatever I needed to know to strive to be better. I worked with others, taught them what I knew. I gave them instructions and made sure to follow up and see if they had any questions. I put my whole heart into that program and into those people who were like family to me. I think I’m a good leader because I’m not harsh, but when it comes down to business I get the job done. I try to show that even a leader sometimes has to do the dirty work, and if I don’t do it, I give credit to those who do. When something went wrong, I took the blame, not pointing the finger at someone else.

18. What house do you feel you belong in?
I could really fit into any house, but since I should pick one, I’m going to pick Gryffindor. I think they have such comradery. I love the pride that they seem to radiate. All the houses are like that, but Gryffindor seems to just personify that.

19. "Blood or water" - Which is more important; friends or family?
Honestly, I think both are really important. I know that I have a step-family, and even though they aren’t blood, they mean more to me then anyone would know. My friends are my family. Blood doesn’t seem to be a standard for making lasting relationships. So I guess I’m saying water. I love my family more then my own life, but I include my friends in that exclusive family.

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite?
I have read all 6 books. Up until I had read Book 6, Book 3 was my favorite, but the events in Book 6 have over-ridden my former favorite book. First, I enjoyed the introduction of the Horcruxes. I had always wondered how Voldemort survived the Avada Kedavra backfire and the destruction of his soul in the diary, so this helped explain much of my confusion. Even though it's annoying to wait for it, I like how JKR links her books together and explains in later books why something occurred. Another example of this is when we found out that Snape was the one who told Voldemort about the Potter's child. I had suspected this all along and was happy when I saw that I was correct. Second, I liked that Snape finally got to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts. Snape is and has always been my favorite character and I was happy to see that he finally got his wish, after waiting nearly 15 years. I loved the second chapter most of all because we got to see where Snape lives and it was interesting to see how friendly he can be when he needs to be. Third, I enjoyed the humor in this book. This is the first book that has actually caused me to laugh out loud and it just made it a more enjoyable experience overall. Fourth (and I know a lot of people are going to hate me for this one), I was glad to see Dumbledore go. It's not that I dislike him (because I really did love him) but he needed to go in order for Harry to kill Voldemort. Harry needs to do it on his own, so when I saw that Dumbledore died, I knew Harry had to grow up and be a man.

4. Which house qualities do you value most?
From Gryffindor I value chivalry the most. I try my hardest to be polite to people and follow normal social conduct. I think others should try to do the same, as long as they're deserving of the respect. From Ravenclaw I value intelligence the most. I love that I'm considered intelligent by my peers and pride myself on it. Intelligence can do so many things for people, from succeeding in life to becoming
even more knowledgeable in a given field. From Hufflepuff I value loyalty. I am very loyal to my close friends and family and expect that loyalty in return. I think loyalty in a relationship is one of the most important factors because if you can't trust someone, you aren't going to have a good relationship. From Slytherin I value ambitious. I consider myself to be ambitious because of the amount of effort I put into my studies and in other areas of my life. People really need ambition if they want to succeed, no matter how intelligent they might be.

5. What are your pet peeves?
My biggest pet peeve is people who think you're strange because you don't conform to a group. In my situation, an example is football. I don't buy tickets to my school's football games because I have a heart problem which causes me to be sensitive to heat. When people ask me why I don't go to the games and I tell them this, they normally choose to ignore it and think I'm strange and abnormal, which brings me to another pet peeve of mine, people who ignore others. The majority of the time I have seen this happen (and this has happened to me) because people think they are better than others or myself for no apparent reason. Another pet peeve of mine is people who constantly talk about themselves. It really annoys me that people can really think that much of themselves and it has been my experience that these people really don't understand anything else except how to make themselves look good, even if they have no qualities that might be rewarding.

6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The animal chooses you, you don?t choose it.)
Most likely I would be a cat. While cats are normally smart and sneaky creatures, they tend to keep to themselves (much like I do) and avoid humans most of the time. I'm also like this. Honestly, I wouldn't mind curling up in a ball and sleeping at all hours of the day if I could either, which is another reason why I would make a good cat.

7. What shape would your Boggart take? (Remember: Your Boggart takes the shape of the thing that you fear the most.)
My Boggart would definitely take the shape of a murderer. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been afraid that a murderer would break into my house and kill me and the rest of my family. Now that I'm away at college, I'm afraid a murderer will come into my dorm and kill me and some of my other dorm mates. The feeling is especially bad now because I live on the first floor and my bed is directly next to the window. At home my room is on the bottom floor as well. Perhaps if so many people weren't murdered every year I wouldn't be so worried but this world has made me very afraid. I can't help but worry that it'll be me next, and that my pictures will be all over the television the next day, telling everyone to look out for the murderer of this 20-year-old. I know the odds are very slim that I will ever be murdered in my lifetime but I tend to believe the worst in people and so, my fear will probably continue until the end of my life.

8. What do you worry about the most and why? (Note: This is not the same thing that your Boggart becomes. Your biggest fear and your biggest worry are two different things.)
I worry the most about never graduating from college and never becoming an actuary. I've worked so hard for the past two years and college and still continue to see people my age drop out and take dead-end jobs. It kills me that this happens and I constantly worry that I will be the next person who doesn't succeed in life. I would not only be hurting myself but also my parents, who have paid thousands of dollars for my education and who moved us to a different city so that my siblings and I could attend a very good public school instead of going to a mediocre private school. If I don't succeed in my career plans, I'd most likely then be the most disappointing child my parents have and this would kill my self-esteem. I worry that after receiving my college degree I won't be able to find a job. This is a stupid thing to worry about because actuaries are so high in demand at the moment, but I still worry about it, and will continue to do so until I get a job.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?
I would never put my name in the Goblet of Fire. First of all, it's very dangerous. I wouldn't want to put myself in that amount of danger where I could possibly be seriously injured or killed. Second, I wouldn't want to be put on the spot. I would hate that everyone would be watching me and the amount of stress from that alone would probably cause me to fail. I would hate that everyone would be depending on me to bring some glory to my house and the obvious cruel remarks I would receive from those who didn't support me.

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it?
I believe my greatest weapon is my wit. When I was in middle school and high school there were quite a few people who didn't like me for whatever reason. They used to pick on me and since I'm not a fighter, the only thing I could really use to defend myself was my words. The majority of the time I was able to talk myself out of bad situations and usually was able to overcome my attackers. Normally what I had to say in retaliation wasn't very nice but at least I was left alone, and by the beginning of my Junior year of high school, everyone had ceased picking on me. I will continue to use my wit in any bad situation I get myself into in the future. I hope I won't need to but obviously, I'm going to have some problems in the future.

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect?
I would absolutely love to be a prefect. I love the responsibility that comes with the jobs. I love that I could have power over the other students and threaten to take points if they ever talked down to me. Prefects are often liked very much by the teachers and tend to have a better relationship with them, so I would like that very much. I am a stickler for rules and would love enforcing the rules, even if everyone referred to me as a git like Percy. I would love feeling special and feeling like I was put up on a pedestal. I mean, it would be quite an honor to be picked out the hundreds of students, especially since the first step to my being Head Girl would be to become a Prefect.

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess?
The quality I admire the most is compassion for others. I think it's very nice that there are so many people out who care for others and put them before themselves. For example, a girl I know is currently getting a group together to go down to New Orleans and try to help the hurricane victims. She said she is going even if no one goes with her. She's going even if she has classes or schoolwork to attend to. That is a great example of compassion for others. She is putting other people before herself and these people aren't even people she knows. While I do have an average amount of compassion for those I love, my compassion can't even compare to hers, so unfortunately, it's not one of my big qualities. I wish it could be but it's not really who I am. Many of my friends have compassion for their families and friends but not for others, so I don't normally surround myself with overly-compassionate
people.

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way?
I think the worst quality a person can possess is racism. I have never understood racism. People base their opinions on stereotypes and this is clearly wrong. I have many friends of color and I hate it when people look down on them for their ancestry. We are all descendants of the same people so in reality, we are all connected. I think racism causes the majority of the problems in the world and if it were to stop, everyone could get along and there would be no war. If racism were to end, people would be able to discuss their problems instead of bombing the hell out of each other. I think that in the majority of situations, racism comes from the parents and in the manner a person is brought up. If more parents would teach their children that racism and its ideas are wrong, less and less people would become racist.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see?
If I looked into the Mirror of Erised, I would see myself working as an actuary for an insurance company or bank. I would be very successful and would have enough money to buy anything I ever wanted, from my BMW to my large house or penthouse apartment. I would look happy as well and have an intelligent, handsome man holding my hand and no children. My family would be with me in hope that they would still love me and support me throughout life, even when I won't need them financially anymore. I would like to make a difference in something and be remembered, though I don't know how yet.

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends?
Of the friends I have, I consider three of them to be true friends. All three of them are loyal to me. They have kept my secrets when I needed them to. They have never gossiped about me or spoke down to me. They have always treated me with respect. I'm never left out with them and they always try to make me feel included in nearly every part of their life. They spend quality time with me and never make me feel like I'm wasting their time. They make me feel special, which is so much more than I can say for other former friends of mine. There are so many other things I want to say about them but I'm unable to put them into words because these friends mean so much to me. All of these qualities are equality important to me and when combined, make truly terrific friends. These people are my friends because we all had a similar interest (music) and it just grew from there. Even now we discuss music constantly, from classical to rock, and occasionally play together, and every time I think about the first time we met.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort?
Voldemort is a horrible person, the worst of anything a person can become. Anyone who kills hundreds of people without a single thought must be thoroughly disturbed to every core of his being. As much as I hate him, I have to compliment him on his brilliance. The manner of splitting up his soul 7 times was absolutely brilliant because he knew people would try to kill him. Only a very powerful wizard could do this, and that he was. He evaded death in this way and I have to look in favor of him on this. He was also able to find a lot of followers to do his dirty work for him. Being able to convince someone to kill someone for you takes a lot of brainpower and skill of the mind. The Death Eaters fear him so much that they call him master and lord, which says a lot about the power he holds over them. Even Bellatrix thinks of him as some sort of god, almost worshiping his name and cause, a lot like people do regularly on Sundays. It was also very smart on Voldemort's part to give his Death Eaters the Death Mark so that he could summon them. In this manner he was also controlling them and this factor represents the ease he had in getting what he wanted from people.

17. What do you think are your main 3 characteristics?
Musical: I am very musical. I have played the piano for 15 years and the clarinet for 9 years. I have excelled in the field of music since a very young age, receiving Superior ratings for nearly every competition I entered. I constantly was admitted to Honor Bands for playing the clarinet and was even admitted to our school's Symphonic Band as a Freshman, even though that is a rarity for a Freshman. That particular band was mostly compose of Juniors and Seniors so it was a great accomplishment for me at that age. I have always loved music and love nearly all genres from classical to rock, especially classical and jazz. In my spare time, I enjoy writing small compositions for myself and friends who play. I love attending the symphony when in the city and love going to see my friend play jazz in his combo on the weekends when I'm home.

Shy: I can be very shy. This keeps me from making friends and from keeping close relationships. The majority of people who know me now say that when they first met me, they didn't like me at all because my shy demeanor came off as being cold and distant. When I was a young child, I danced, and wasn't shy at all, but after quitting, I become an introvert. For whatever reason, I'm not very shy when playing a musical instrument or in the classroom, but in any other circumstances, you won't hear me say a word.

Math-oriented: I am very much into mathematics. I have always loved math since Kindergarten, when I was first introduced to adding. Thereafter I succeeded in math and took advanced math classes every year up until I graduated from high school. Everyone thought it was very strange during elementary school when I left during the math lesson to tackle more advanced problems, but it didn't bother me because I enjoyed it. Now I'm majoring in math and want to be an actuary where I can do math every day for the rest of my life.

18. What house do you feel you belong in?
Considering that I'm a Ravenclaw at two other sorting communities, I'm going to say Ravenclaw because of my level of intelligence and wit, and love of school and learning. However, I've had a good amount of Slytherin votes in my time and am often referred to as a Slytherclaw, so I could also do well in Slytherin. It's all up to the voters, of course, and I would like for you all to place me where you see fit, even if it isn't Ravenclaw that you see most in me.

19. "Blood or water" - Which is more important; friends or family?
I think family is much more important. You will always have the same family. Nothing can change that. However, friends will come and go. If you lose a friend you can just make another one, but if you lose your mom or dad, you can't get another one. I care more for my family than anyone else because they are always there for me and hopefully will always stand behind me, while friends might leave or disown me. I have been hurt by people who I thought were my friends but barely have been hurt by my own family.

3. Have you read all 6 Harry Potter Books? Which book was your favorite? Yes, I've read all six books. My favourite is probably The Half-Blood Prince for several reasons. First, Harry Potter is no longer a children's novel. It matured into something dark and depressing, not to mention romantic (though the pairings Rowling used were disgusting). We got to see more of Draco, Snape and Voldemort, which was good because we've only seen the good side so far. Harry angsts a lot and I'm an angst fiend, so I loved that as well. And even though I'm-not-saying-who-it-is died and he was one of my favourite characters, I would not have it any other way. The mystery is intriguing and it's driving me insane to wait for the next part. I just really, really love this book.

4. Which house qualities do you value most?
From Gryffindor, chivalry. I myself would probably wet myself in dangerous situations, and I admire those who defend honour and have manners. My boyfriend of almost eight months is the most chivalrous person I've met, and I can't help liking people who are.

From Ravenclaw, intelligence. Not only are smart people fun to have conversations with, they can really help you out with homework and the like.

From Hufflepuff, loyalty. I believe that nothing shows love like loyalty to one's friends, family, and peers. I also admire 'Puffs for their hard-working nature; they try as hard as they can, and that's what I love about them.

From Slytherin, cunningness. They're so skilled at getting what they want... enough said.

5. What are your pet peeves? America. Religios zealots. When my brother forgets to flush the toilet. Warm weather. Not having a messy bedroom. Pushovers. Obedience. Depressingly dumb pop music. 6. Based from your personality, what kind of Animagus would you be? (The animal chooses you, you don’t choose it.) I think my Animagus would be a cat. I'm small (only 155 centimetres tall), quick, and I have reddish-hair, and I've been told that I'm a very cat-ish person. I can be both playful and sneaky when I want to be, and the next minute I can be sweet and cuddly. I like cats, too, but Mum won't let me have one.

This is going to be very embarrassing, but I have a policy to be honest about myself, whether it scares people or not. I scare everyone anyway, and I can't be arsed if I frighten you. Anyway, my Boggart would turn into Miranda Otto dressed up like a clown with spiders crawling all over her while being helplessly humped by Bigfoot. I have insane fears of Miranda Otto, insects of any sort, clowns (I won't go near McDonald's if they have that stupid clown there), and that Bigfoot thing is just too disturbing.

8. What do you worry about the most and why? I worry about what will happen to me in the future. I'm not at the best time in my life right now, I'll be honest with you. My third year of secondary school starts this year, and I'm nervous. My parents pay a lot of money to send me to NDSS, and I'm not even talented enough to be there... I'm nervous. I have to try to get good marks so I can go to college... I've skated by for the past two years by doing assignments at the last minute and sucking up to my professors, and it will not work now at my age. And, to make things worse, I'm unsure as to what I want to do with my life. Of course, I may not have many options right now; I'm going through a serious pregnancy scare, and things aren't looking so great. I might be having a baby, and that SUCKS.

9. Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire? Probably not. I mean, I'd like to and all, but competition and I don't mix. I get very competitive (and fussy if I don't win or at least place in the top three), and I'm very clumsy besides. I fear failure & I would definitely fail at tasks like those. Fighting a dragon would terrify me to the point that I couldn't think straight and I'd end up as its dinner. And I really, really dont want to die. I'm not going to enter a contest and fight for something unless my friends or I are in immediate danger, and a tournament does not qualify as "immediate danger."

10. What do you believe is the greatest weapon you possess? How, why, and when would you use it? Hmm... I'm unsure, but I think I'll go with my tendency to manipulate. My other best weapon isn't that great of a weapon: my anger can get out of control, therefore losing any battle I attempt with it. I just go insane and end up in the headmaster's office. I use my words to talk people into things and reassure them. Heck, I seduced my boyfriend! It doesn't always work, but it's better than than losing control and losing an argument in the process.

11. Would you ever want to be a prefect? I don't know. I'd probably be a horrible prefect, due to my lack of obedience to authority, and leadership positions don't suit me well. But yes, I think I would like to be a prefect. I'd get to use that huge bathtub (perfect for late-night sex) and have privileges, and it would look good on my record. That means a better chance of getting a job and my dad would be oh-so-proud of his little girl for once.

12. What quality do you admire above all others? Do you feel that it is a quality you or the people you surround yourself with possess? I admire loyalty and compassion. People with those qualities the most selfless, lovable people you'd ever meet, and I love them. I am loyal to all of my friends and they are loyal to me, and if they break my trust, then there is no going back. But yes, I would stick by my friends through anything. It's repayment for what they've done for me and I love them too much not to be loyal!

13. What are the worst qualities that you believe a person can possess? Why do you feel this way? The worst quality a person could possess is intolerance. When someone says that I am a "sinner" for being bisexual, agnostic, pro-choice, liberal, or not a virgin, it's like they stab me right in the heart. It hurts me that they can't accept me for who I was born to be just because they're intolerant. People like that have ruined my friendships, abused me, even laughed at me. I don't care what they think of me, but not accepting me because I'm different from them? Come on! You can find a reason to hate me other than the fact that I have crushes on girls. I could have spread rumours about you or kicked your brother where no light shines... those are grounds for hating me, not my religion, orientation or beliefs.

14. If you were to look into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see? I would see myself helping malnourished orphans in Sudan, maybe with the Peace Corps or something. It saddens me that these kids are suffering for no reason and there isn't enough aid to support them. Life really isn't fair, especially not the Sudanese refugees and all the people in Africa afflicted with AIDS. I want to make a difference in the world and I'm going to do it, even if I have to run away from home to join the Peace Corps. Also, I might see myself making love to David Wenham in a huge vat of whipped cream, chocolate sauce and cherries. Mmm... that's hot.

15. How many people do you consider true friends? What qualities do they have that are important to you? Why are they your friends? I have a few close friends. Regina, Lisa, Jenny, Nicole, Annie and Amy, to name a few. So, that leaves me with six close friends, half of whom I met on the Internet. All of my mates are compassionate and they give great advice, and I don't know what I'd do without them. They're my mates because we have things in common: interests, beliefs, goals, you name it. If it wasn't for them, I would have been dead long ago.

16. What are your thoughts on Voldemort? To tell you the truth, I pity him. Voldemort went through a lot in his life: he was an unloved, misunderstood orphan who had no friends, but he worked hard at his magic and became one of the greatest wizards of all time. Even if Voldemort's an insensitive moron, I admire him. He alone found ways to split his soul - seven times, I must add - something Albus Dumbledore probably couldn't do if he tried. I don't think I'd ever support Voldemort, but I don't oppose him either.

17. What do you think are your main 3 characteristics?
Determined: I know what I want and I will go after it, and I will fight you if I don't. I try not to let anything get in my way, but sometimes bad things happen to me. Well, they happen all the time to me. But I keep trying, and I always will.

Impulsive: I do almost everything, legal or not, on a whim without thinking first, and it leads to consequences I can't handle. I also can't change the habit. I think about what I did wrong and ponder what I should have done after, but it doesn't help. I just get angsty and depressed.

Curious: I am rarely seen without my nose in a book or magazine just to scan the articles for information or strange things. I'm fascinated by the unknown, which is why I'd love to go to Hogwarts and take Divination. I'd love to visit every country in the world. I want to know what everything is like.

18. What house do you feel you belong in? I feel that I belong in Ravenclaw. Like I just said, I'm extremely curious to the point that it scares everyone. I once asked my biology teacher if it was possible to smoke a tree frog, and she thought I was a drug addict and gave me strange looks all year. You can smoke a cane toad, or so I've been told. I should look that up. I know more pointless information than I will ever need and I have these insane freak-out sessions if I don't read the newspaper first thing in the morning. If I don't, I whine and watch the news instead. I like to stay informed, you see. I also get excited at the prospect of writing research papers... weird, I know.

19. "Blood or water" - Which is more important; friends or family? Family is more important... to me, that is. I could live without my friends and they would leave me alone if I asked them to, but my parents never do. They geniunely care for me and love me, or I hope they do, and they try to do what's best for me. I don't always agree with Mum and Dad (actually, we never agree), but I still love them. I could live without my friends, but it would be hard. My parents are just very supportive and I can't thank them enough. And they have credit cards... you can't forget the credit cards...
