a list of things! awesome things.

First things first: new counter for the band AU. It's moving along nicely at this point, and I'm through two of five sections, so it's staying on track length-wise, too, which is nice (if slightly unusual; part four is probably going to explode into some sort of monster at this rate).

Next: today was the most awesome post day, guys, seriously. Usually the post is extraordinarily unexciting and is, quite often, no fun at all, because most days I'm getting bills which, as I'm sure you know, are uncool. But today! Today, the awesome outweighed the bills! I got
-a package of tea and tea-things from delicatale, stjarna1984, and theellibu, and I've already had a mug of the pomegranate tea they've sent, and it's fantastic
-a lovely pair of pale green wristlets from the extremely talented james
-a valentine card from theeverdream
-a season of Smallville on DVD from shinysylver

Add to that the fact that my Gram is doing great (she had her knee replaced a week ago and is doing really, really well) and that I had a pretty good night at work, and yeah, today? Win. :D

Now I just need someone to convince me that I don't want to start writing angsty DC fic. Seriously. Persuade me.

I've figured something out about my likes and dislikes in comics over the last couple of weeks, and I think I've pinned down the what if not the why. With Marvel, my favorites are all big names - I love Steve and Clint and Tony and Bucky, and they're a lot of the well-known ones for the most part (especially after the movies came out). In DC, I couldn't care less about the main players. Batman and Superman hold very little interest for me; instead, I'm enjoying the interplay between all the different Robins (there have been five or six, depending on how you count) and the Teen Titans/Young Justice crowd. It might have something to do with the Marvel movies focusing on the big names, but then again, shouldn't that make me more interested in Batman, at the very least?

But yeah, like I said, I figured out what, just not why. And now I'm half-planning some sort of angsty Kon/Tim sort-of-AU with lots of feelings and lots of Dick Grayson being awesome, because, well, he's Dick Grayson.
