The City of Doraville, Georgia originally earned SolSmart Bronze in 2022, then leveled up to Silver in 2024 by embracing comprehensive zoning upgrades, training city staff in solar best practices, provided essential information about solar and energy storage to residents, and more!

• Created an online permitting checklist, increasing transparency for community members and solar installers
• Reviewed local zoning codes and identified restrictions that intentionally or unintentionally prohibit solar PV development
• Trained permitting and inspection staff on best practices for permitting solar PV and/or solar and storage systems.
