Hello all!

So, it's been a while, I'm terribly sorry it's been so long. People were asking about me and I forgot my password and all these silly things.

I've moved home, to a new flat in Chesham, London - closer to work and I've got a Remus Lupin roleplaying tumblr which is the real reason I've been absent, I sorta got sucked in.

However, it does mean I have some new/semi new artwork to show since I've been absent. So, here's a sketch dump for you!

Who knows, just updating this might make me come back on tomorrow, I'm just awful at doing things.

Big News

Sorry I haven't been here, but life has got incredibly busy my end, work and family and everything else.

But I just wanted you all to know that I finally got engaged last night :)

I am hoping I will be here more often, but we're also moving house at the end of the month and just so much is going on so yep. Big times. I hope you are all well and maybe I'll be back online more to show you things I've been up to, though it's mostly been writing.

Hi, I just wanted to tell you i'm alive.

So, here's some stuff to tell you, just a few bits, since the beginning of June:

It's trying to kill me
I've been off work for two days and ill the last fourdays because it's just so awful
So yeah, boo!

Notes: Harry Potter’s own How I Met Your Mother. I gave Lyall a James Dean 50’s hair cut (as the year is 1959) and put Hope in a pretty dress. I’m afraid I don’t know what a welsh woodland looks like but I put it on a slant because Wales is filled with valleys and hills. The excerpt from Pottermore, which I had to type out because Pottermore is evil is below.

Notes: huldrejenta and I were talking over comments about wizarding life expectancy being 137 and three quarters. So I drew our favourite werewolf and his pink haired auror in their 'hundreds' :D
I haven't decided an age, and it was sooo difficult to age them so yeah, I hope I did this justice.

We also said that even though Tonks could meta' and change into a younger self if she fancied it we believed she wouldn't and would want to match her husband sooo..hence the white hair :D Enjoy!

So I decided to draw our AU Teddy. He's much rougher around the edges, quietly angry with the fate of his mother and also being compared to her and he races his broom illegally around London for kicks and prize money.

Harry Potter Studio Tour Photos & Second Visit Feels

So, if you were on the planet yesterday you would have noticed I went to the Warner Bros Studio Tour yesterday.

I was surprised to find a lot of fans I speak to (possibly don't really know much about the place, really. In terms of how the tour works, as it's actually at Leavsden Studios where it was all filmed originally in the ten years they spent on set.

So yeah, it's got loads of awesome stuff there, from the original great hall to the costumes and hair, to the dorm room and the common room etc. and the concept art work is BEAUTIFUL.

I have already been, and the first time was a bit of a sugar high, this time was much calmer, I spent two hours in the first sound stage alone and it was just...really nice.

Hard to explain unless you've been but it feels...magical. They say that it's not as fun for the adults, that it kills the magic, but maybe because of my film background I actually think it adds for me. It creates that sense of wonder that this was someones job for almost 10 years, to help work on this.

And some of the details, are gorgeous. From the fact that Harry's cupboard has a bloody electric meter in it, to the fact that there's a bar of chocolate sitting next to Lupin's record player...it just, made me feel glad to be a fan.

I also got to do this with Jamie:

Wand combat training was so much fun. ~~I want to do it again.~~

And look into the mirror of Erised and see Jamie and his mum standing behind me, Oh wait, they were standing behind me!

And I may have also been able to afford to spoil myself this time with this lot:

Our last Half Term starts here

I can't believe that half term has come already, I've been so busy with work that the last seven weeks have literally flown by.

That, and I will have 7 weeks off in 7 weeks time. God, the number 7 isn't going to leave me alone.

I'm going to go mad. Two weeks I just managed without going insane...

So, I'm going to have to find something to do in the summer, or I might kill someone with boredom, maybe I should set myself more fandom tasks. Anyone got any ideas?

I go to the Harry Potter tour today with Jamie and his mum, Even though it's my second time I'm very excited because I'm going in my "Tonks outfit" My leather jacket, hufflepuff scarf and jeans (though, I don't think she'd be wearing a marauders t-shirt.)

Also, I'm taking my DSLR so be prepped for pretty photos. Is there anything anyone particular wants photos of?

By the way, I apologise if i spam your friends' list today, As I'm sorting out my art and fanficition lists so I'm separating and re-posting a lot of art work that I dumped in one post for convenience...so sorry about that!

Notes: Inspired heavily by me delving into Ted and Andromeda fandom and shimotsuki's head canon about Ted and Andromeda using the the two-way mirrors. So I drew and coloured this in. :D I might do Andromeda's version at some point too. I am aware the mirror isn't very clear, but I drew it intending for it to be more about his expression than about the mirror itself :)

So, as I thought about how to tell you about what's been going on, I realise that actually, it's not really a lot. School is mega busy as usually. Our year 11's or our seniors, I guess in the rest of the world, are doing their exams and I'm one of the invigulators.

It's the most boring job imaginable. I can't even read a book whilst they do their exam, not allowed a phone or work, I can't draw. I just have to stare at the clock.

Thursday it was two hours. Two very long hours. I'm not looking forward to doing it all again next week, and throughout most of June. It's gonna suck.

However, I am going to the Harry Potter Studio tour on Saturday 24th, so yay! I have that to look forward too - we're taking Jamie's mum and I'm taking my camera.

On RL news:
My mum had a load of tests and found out she didn't have cancer (not that I knew any of this until last week when she got the all clear)

Jamie had another panic attack on Thursday, he needs to go see a doctor...It's worrying me now but I can only do so much.

Also, Jamie drew me Remus from my story Tales from The Pensieve, here is it with an extract.

“I am not letting you rent that property again, you filthy dark creature. Do not come back here again or I will blackball you in this estate. Is that understood?” With that the landlord went to close the door and Remus panicked and stepped between the door and the frame.

“But wait, what about my things!”

Mr Predeghast seemed to have been expecting this because he suddenly threw down a cardboard box. Remus could hear the sound of something smash as it hit the concrete ground and as he scrambled to the floor to pick up his things the door slammed shut after his landlord. He decided then that maybe he shouldn’t knock again and ask if he could have the month’s rent he’d paid for upfront. That would be suicide. So now, Remus Lupin was left alone in the hallway.

below is some gifs (with a drabble to proceed one of them I created (I know, I know how to make gifs now!) based on Andromeda and Ted, who aside from Remus/Tonks are slowly becoming my other favourite pairing in HP.

PB's are Philip Seymour Hoffman for Ted, Laura Linney for Andromeda from the film The Savages. Which btw, I highly recommend.

The whole time they’d traveled to St Mungos, Ted hadn’t let go of Andromeda’s hand. He looked very pale, as white as his almost white hair.

“Can anyone tell us what happened?” he asked, trying to be calm for his very impatient wife who wanted to boss the healers around on arrival.

It wasn’t like he wasn’t impatient to know, but what else could they do right now? He chewed on his lip as the healer sighed, she was new, and Andromeda was her boss so she was shaking a little.

“Mad Eye Moody brought her in, the auror…said it’s spell damage, duelling. He couldn’t name the curse…but she fell from a height so that might be the main problem…” She took a breath as Ted went very still, his wife still holding his hand - as it seemed to be a constant battle to support the other.

“Can we see her?” but the words came out weaker than he intended. He needed to see his daughter and make sure she was alright, and he knew Andromeda would also be able to assess damage, being a healer herself.

And this little heartbreaker right here is a kick in the teeth. No drabble necessary for this one.

And that's it really...nothing else to report. How are you guys doing?

Battle of Hogwarts Anniversary.

Err, yes. I was just informed that it is the anniversary to the Battle of Hogwarts. I know it should be a happy anniversary but...

(cries in a corner because that means that Teddy is now 16 years old (and not far off Harry's age), and likely hood being that Andromeda is going through hell today, as is Molly and Arthur and George and everyone still left from the war.)

Fanclub, HP & Photography

So, an update is in order. What's going on with me?

Well, Tales was updated which you can find here - and yay for introductions of original characters :D

I've written three fanfics in the last week or so - one very recently, Ted/Andromeda, and one for rt_morelove called Organised Chaos, also Ted centric but focusing on Remus/Tonks and denial fic Teddy's Train Home

School is going fantastically well I've been given a new role, focusing on learning and creating skills with our autistic children, and so, with the permission of my colleagues, we've created FANCLUB! Where we make stuff about things we like.

Mac likes Lego and Star Wars, Harry likes the Avengers so we're making stuff all to do with that. I am very excited. Here is some of the things I did on Tuesday below.

Home life is cool, Jamie's not had a cigarette in a month, which is great - after his panic attack a month ago, and the video below a few posts ago has done really well so yes, very proud.

My mum and dad don't move on Friday now, like they were planned, I'm really looking forward to seeing their cottage.

I'm going to the Harry Potter tour on the 24th of May - my second time :D I'm very excited about that...and I'm going with my camera to get nice high def pics, so looking forward to that.

And Saturday I'm going to go be a wedding photographer for the forth time, and I don't usually show you guys my photos so here's a preview of them below. if you want to see more my portfolio is at the website here. These are from my most recent wedding - my best friends' over Easter.

And that's it, really. Nothing else to report, just...getting on with things...

Fic: Spot the Difference

Title: Spot The Difference
Summary: After a fierce fight with Nymphadora, Ted becomes peacemaker and not for the first time.
Word count: 1,426
Characters/Pairings: Ted/Andromeda mentions of Remus/Tonks
Warnings: Ted being lovely count as a warning?
Notes: I've been RPing Ted and Andromeda, and I'm falling in love with them very easily. Also, I'm finding it harder and harder for the reasons as to why Tonks's parents would have a big issue with Remus being married to their daughter, so this is my rebuttal to that...

And as an extra thing, here's a young Ted/Dromeda pic too :D

Andromeda had held her head high the whole evening, but Ted knew better. The final argument with their daughter that evening had, without a doubt been one of the hardest conversations Ted had ever had to witness; Mother and daughter out to get their point across without listening to the other.

Sometimes, he wondered if Dora had taken any of the Tonks genes at all, though that couldn’t be further from true.

With Dora at work, and her new husband also out, for reasons the pair didn’t know, Ted started to search the house for his wife.

It wasn’t that the Tonkses’ home was huge, far from it, but Andromeda seemed to disappear into crevices to clean that Ted barely knew existed even after living in the same house for at least 30 years.

“’Dromeda?”

“I’m in here, Ted.”

The voice was tough, raw to listen to as he turned into the room that used to be Dora’s, completely sparse of furniture because she had taken it with her to the Ministry Flat when she’d started training

It had now doubled as a laundry room until this morning when Dora had arrived with Remus in tow, asking for a place for her and her husband to stay.

When Ted walked in, apart from the very few bags that the Lupins had left being the only change to the room, his wife was using a drying spell on some of his shirts.

“I thought I’d find you hiding in here.” Ted told her, his arms folded, as his wife didn’t quite look him in the eye, dutifully flourishing her wand to the wireless that was set behind her, each shirt put itself on a hanger and hung itself up on the wardrobe behind her.

“I’m not hiding,” Andromeda said, still not facing her husband of thirty years.

“Sulking then?”

“I’m not sulking either, Ted,” Andromeda told him, this time meting his gaze. “Why would I be sulking?”

“You always sulk after fighting Dora, it’s part of the recuperation process.” Ted moved into the room, closing the door behind him in case their new houseguests turned up.

“And why don’t you sulk after fighting with our daughter?” Andromeda said.

“Simple.” He gave her an effortless smile, “I don’t fight with her.”

Andromeda gave up, hanging up the last shirt before looking to Ted fiercely. “Oh so I’m the villain because I don’t think it’s fair that we didn’t even know about any of this until this morning? That she’s married? Married to Sirius’s friend?”

Ted sighed, his eyes creased and lines forming after every smile and frown to age him.

“Dromeda, she’s twenty five years old…”

“Exactly! She’s too young too--”

“We were seventeen when we eloped…”

“But he’s twelve years her senior, a werewolf- our marriage was completely different—“

Ted raised an eyebrow at his wife, unable to help it, she just couldn’t win the argument on this one.

“Oh, it was different, was it? Tell me what is so different about this situation that we have seen our daughter fall into?” Ted sat down on Dora’s bed, his arms outstretched, whilst his wife lent against the wardrobe looking weary.

Ted Tonks started to count the points on his fingers, every count making his wife’s face pale further and further.

“So, our daughter has fallen in love with someone the wizarding community have set a stigma against during a war that’s pulling the wizarding world apart, again. That by choosing him she is putting her and him in danger, and now they have eloped because they wanted to be married against the prejudices around them…”

Andromeda watched her husband with a fierce look on her face.

“And now,” Ted finished, with a soft expression, his voice still as pleasant as ever that drove his wife mad, “after this morning’s conversation she and her husband believes that their own parents against them.”

“I’m not against them. I’m against…Oh Ted!” she said his name with fierce anger then, her hands at her sides. “I didn’t want this for her, I didn’t—“

Andromeda turned away, to look out of the window of their little home, the home that they had scraped to afford; the home that they had struggled to survive in when they first became husband and wife. No one ever tells you how hard it is to begin a life when everyone is against you, that even having two jobs between you are barely enough to keep food on the table…that the thought of getting through the day without fearing to be found by your in laws and torturing you is a day well spent.

“I just wanted her to be safe, not have what we had...”

“I didn’t think what we had was so bad?”

“No food and fearing that a death eater was going to kill you every five minutes doesn’t sound bad to you, does it?” Andromeda snapped back at him with harsh expression and Ted sighed and wrapped his arms around her when he stood, resting his head on her shoulder.

Andromeda hated how he was always considered the calm one despite the fact he was the one who always acted on his impulses. Always. His hands, rough from manual labour in his youth rest against hers and the faint smell of coffee, oil and the faint aroma of a dusty room.

“I know it was hard for us, but I’m afraid Dora’s already made her choice without our help. Besides…she’s an auror in the Order of the Phoenix…and we can’t do anything about that either…but we keep them here and help them feel welcomed as we’d of liked our parents to do and let Dora know that we still love her, that this doesn’t change that.”

Andromeda Tonks pulled away from her husband to look back at her husband and away from the window, her hands around her chest, looking anxious all of a sudden.

“When did I become my mother, Ted?”

Ted laughed so suddenly that he almost it was a serious question. His wife’s fierce eyes met his and he raised his hands in protest.

“You didn’t. You could never do that, I met your mother remember? When she wasn’t so happy to meet me.” Ted continued to laugh for a moment before settling himself back into his calm stance, “It’s not too late to say sorry…” He played with her hair and the wispy grey streaks that flushed across it.

“And lets’ be honest, love. Are you really surprised that Dora would go the more dangerous road? We’re not exactly the best role models…a blood traitor and a muggle-born who dared marry a Black. How did you expect her to turn out?”

Andromeda’s face buried into Ted’s chest, his broad shoulders, and wished she could take away all those horrible things she’d said. She took a breath and then let go of Ted and she gave a sigh.

“You really don’t get angry? You don’t…feel disappointed?”

Ted gently shook his head, his eyes flickering to the window. “I like to tease Dora, but sometimes…us Tonkses just have to go with our gut…I can’t by disappointed in that, that’s what I’ve done my whole life, it’s what led me to you.”

He gave her a knowing smile, squeezed his wife’s hand. “I’m making some coffee, do you want some?”

“With carnation milk?”

“That’d be the one.”

She nodded as she moved back to the shirts she’d been hanging whilst he moved to the door of the room to leave.

“I love you, Dromeda,” came his pleasant tone from the hallway as he headed down the stairs just as Andromeda was about to flourish her wand, she paused, softness in her face, never tiring of her old nickname and his calm words and his impulses and the way he made her feel. She’d tell Dora to give up everything for someone to make her feel like that...

And she would, when it was the right time, when she knew that Dora would be in the mood to listen. Andromeda hung up her first shirt before finally calling back to him.

“I love you too Ted.”

And Andromeda was quite sure she could almost hear the way his face could form into that effortless smile all the way from where she was in the bedroom…

…and so, Mrs Tonks smiled back, even if he wasn’t there to see it.

Fic & Art: Teddy's Train Home

Title: Teddy's Train Home
Summary: The Lupins reunited, June 2015

Warnings: Denial!fic.
Notes: Comes with it's own illustration :D the illustration came first, but this is what i thought of the whole time I was drawing it. Also, is it just me Chalion fans, but whenever I draw Remus with a beard, he becomes Caz? :/

The breeze that whisked passed the werewolf was a warm one, as Remus Lupin took a walk around Kings Cross Station. His wife was already waiting for the train but Remus had decided to take a walk to distract himself as she'd pressured them all to go and wait for their son far too early, but atleast she wasn’t alone; Andromeda had also joined them for this momentous event, this seemingly impossible day.

Today, they were picking Teddy up after his final year of Hogwarts. Our boy is seventeen years old.

Remus Lupin tried to focus on something else apart from his age at that statement, the ripe age of fifty five, which had given him further lines, further grey and a beard to match. He took a look around the old station with much enthusiasm, which was was always improving with every year he visited, and every year since he'd travelled from the station to attend school. Comparably to when he started attending in the seventies it was now bright and modern and filled with muggle cafes and restaurants, giggling muggle school children whom had already started their summer, and commuters waiting for their modern trains.

He checked the time on his watch that he had tucked in the his suit, one of his best sets of muggle clothes before moving back towards his desired platform. One moment he seemed to be walking towards the wall between platforms nine and ten and the next he wasn’t there at all.

“Remus, just in time, the train’s on its way, lets get closer!” said Dora, yanking him with her towards her mother to wait for their son. It was time like this when he recalled his age – and their ages collectively and that she had far more youth in her than he did.

Though you’re both not spring chickens anymore, Dora turned forty three this year…

Though, to Remus she didn’t look a day older than thirty, tight jeans and a lime green cardigan, slightly faded pink hair that fell around her shoulder and dangerous high heels. If Tonks had been a beautiful woman when they met, she was far more desirable now with the maturity of motherhood and seventeen years as his wife to add to her arsenal She was still Tonks, still clumsy, still mischievous, still his wife, just with a few more lines on her face and a few more worries and a lot less worry too.

The blaring flash of red slowed to a halt, the sound of steam reminded Remus as it always did as an overactive kettle as it stopped in front of them. His wife and mother in law looked tentatively to the windows and he put his hands on their shoulders.

“He has to get out eventually…relax...” he assured them, as they stared at the train he could also feel his own anticipation mount. He did miss Teddy dreadfully when he was away. As much as he loved the company of his wife and mother in law, it was easy to get "outmanned" and he looked forward to some fair play in the house with his son back.

Finally, their seventeen year old came into view. Teddy was always the most noticeable of the students at Hogwarts, being that his hair was almost constantly a variety of shades of blue. Today, was no different, he was tall and striking wearing a faded denim jacket with the sleeves rolled up, his trunk at his side and he beamed towards his family; the same family that waited for him on the platform with baited breath.

He finally got close enough to see them fully and he stopped barely a meter away from his mother who had seemed to get the closest to him.

“Wotcher…” said Dora in a low happy voice as if daring herself to speak, and her son’s face cracked the widest smile as he moved towards her.

“Wotcher to you too, mum.”

Then they were embracing tightly in instant, his wife looking tiny in comparison to Teddy. Remus always wondered if his height was because of his powers as a metamorphagus or if he really was just very tall – taller than him and his own father by nature but he figured unless he asked he would never know. Teddy certainly dwarfed his mother who liked to stay her natural height and his grandmother. The young man tackled Andromeda in the same homely fashion, before finally turning to his father.

“Hello Dad,” Teddy said, his eyes shining, and Remus matched that expression and doubled it with a warm smile.

“Hello Teddy,” he said revelling in the moment before patting Teddy’s shoulder affectionately but it appeared that shoulder touching wasn’t enough for the young man however, as he pulled father into a bear hug, Remus didn’t fight it, didn’t flinch, just stayed there and rubbed is son’s back for a long moment letting himself absorb the feeling for as long as he could.

The young man pulled both mother and father round to him so he was in the middle, one under each arm, ruffling his father’s hair and laughing at the fact his dad was getting greyer and greyer with each passing year.

“Gram, lead the way, it’s time for us to go home,” he said with enthusiasm that Remus was adamant it didn’t come from his side of the family, to reserved, too quiet, too mild mannered. Remus was unable to even attempt to fight the feeling tugging at his mouth as he started smiling widely as he stepped in line with them to walk home; finally, his family were finally together again.
