Fund 5.5
Within hours of the 2020 earthquake in Petrinja and the Sisak-Moslavina region, Solidarna reactivated Fund 5.5 to deliver fast, coordinated relief. Through the national “Solidarity with Petrinja and SMŽ” campaign, we raised over 17.2 million HRK from individuals and companies across Croatia. The Fund supported urgent needs, long-term recovery, and housing reconstruction and was awarded the European Citizen’s Prize for its impact.
Solidarity with Ukraine Fund
In response to the war in Ukraine, Solidarna launched the Solidarity with Ukraine Fund in March 2022 to support people displaced by the conflict and seeking safety in Croatia. With donations from citizens and companies, and in partnership with civil society, we provided urgent assistance and longer-term support, from essential supplies to Croatian language classes reaching thousands of people rebuilding their lives.
Active Citizens Fund
Foundation Slagalica, the Solidarna Foundation, SMART and CNVOS jointly managed the Active Citizens Fund in Croatia, a key source of support for civil society working on human rights and democratization. The programme supported 157 projects, strengthening 245 organisations and engaging more than 16,000 people across the country. ACF especially empowered local organisations to reinforce their advocacy role and reduce regional inequalities, leaving a lasting impact on active citizenship in Croatia.
