Madeline Low & Nick Clark are the owners of UNet-Legacy, a new energy retailing company, promoting Solar. They are also the founders of Utility Network & Partners, est. 1978, with a long history in promoting climate change initiatives and helping to green the grid. Now in their 70’s and 80’s, while they moving closer to retirement, they are not stepping away from being actively engaged in the future of Alberta’s Decentralised Energy Micro-Gen Sector.

[History of our journey]
1998 – “Green Report” was developed to track fugitive emission for UTILITYnet clients in Alberta’s Oil and Gas sector.
2012 – “Light Up Alberta” retail program was introduced and designed to financially support Alberta Micro-Generators.
2015 – “RECs” introduced as an option for consumers to purchase.
2019 – “Solar Club” The club is Canada’s largest Virtual Solar Community (VSC), known as “Hummingbird.” Collectively, the VSC has an installed base of over 225,000 solar modules, making it the second largest solar farm in Alberta.
2023 – “Pre-Solar” New low rates available to new customers who have signed a contract to install and not yet turned on.
2024 – “Cashback” 3% cashback on all energy imported from the grid.
2025 – “Preview of Bills”, “Backdating of Rate Change”, “Hi Rate Increased to 33 cents per kWh.” “Cashback” increased to 5% for micro-generators who own an EV

November 2025, UTILITYnet.ca is being rebranded as “UNet-Legacy.ca.”
