Yes, I am quite proud to have been featured.
I realize there's a bit of a negative stigma behind adding Second Life screen-grabs on virtually any art or photography website (I mean, hell, FA outright banned it), so I'll be keeping these to a minimum. I do recognize and understand that a vast majority of what people call "art" through screen capturing is flat, looks like it crawled out of 1995, trite, or whatever else you'd like to say. There's a plethora of really bad shots out there, and I don't mean that to discount the folks who make truly lovely *works of art* via this medium, because I have seen some truly amazing things come from it.
I've seen, and read, plenty of tales involving some of those amazing pieces where you get criticizers saying, "Second Life doesn't look like that." Well, *it does.* Or rather, it can, providing one uses a later generation viewer and has a computer that isn't over five years old. This *is* how I see the world every day, and it's because of some of the amazing things I see that I want to take these pictures. And, sure, there's the narcissistic view too that we all like to see our own characters/avatars looking beautiful, or what we subjectively have decided is beautiful.
So, what is this picture then?
This was done for a sort of "fashion feed" on Flickr, where we were challenged to make an outfit and take a picture of us wearing a particular color. This color was called "Wenge," and I decided to use a friend's propery as the backdrop, since it was quite lovely. THIS PICTURE IS NOT TOUCHED UP. The only thing I've done to it was a crop and to decrease the size. There's been no Photoshop filtering, no blurring, nada. What you see is what I saw when I hit "save screenshot." If you want to see more of those kind of things, look me up on Flickr. Otherwise, I'll reserve the posting of these for things I think are special.
In terms of the avatar, the skin (body appearance) and shape were created by me, including a couple of textures that aren't terribly visible. So, I'll say that the sculpts (objects) and some of the textures were designed by Uchi Desmoulins (Curious Inc), Toki and Racush of Tokushi, Orange4 (Mephitis Jezebel, of Chimera and Aventity). More detail into other properties of the image are available from Flickr, for those involved in SL and want to know where things have come from.

I'm flattered you used one of my screens as a background. I'm glad you liked one of them enough to do so!
