It's not that crazy hard. And also maybe it's me. I'm trying to learn something, and so I'm not yet using shortcuts. XD

Well correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like the final picture is like a combination of the other three? I never thought you drew multiple "layers", I figured shading was just sort of a scribble here, scribble there sort of operation. Of course the last time I attempted to shade anything was in my......middle school years maybe.

Also I'm starting to notice the cartouche popping up a couple of times now, is that your signature? Cause like awesome points for originality man

The cartouche is My avatar name, yes. Sometimes I forget to sign :P but it should be on all the drawings I color.

Technical details:

The 3 are indeed combined in the final pic, but there's a little trick. What you see are actually the masks, and not the actual colors I mix.

The masks I tried to make would represent the surfaces that are exposed to the light source. So what you see is if the light source didn't have drop offs.

The mixed one, I do drop off the light intensity with distance. Since the rings are punctual sources, the gradient fades fast. However, there is no moonlight dropoff as it acts like an ambient light.

So yes, most of the drawings shade with scribbles to accentuate shapes. A little more involved is to shade with a layer of gray to make the shadow. Here it's one step further, to shade with colored lights and multiple light sources.

If you look at the better furry art, it's usually not porn, and the shading and lighting is actually pretty evolved, the background is a full scene. I'm far from that yet. Well I guess you could look at artists like Todex for awesome -erh gay- shaded porn :).

Interesting and I don't think I'm going to have any luck translating cause I can't even figure out what the scarab means, it's a triliteral? No idea what that means.

I'm not sure how you translate an actual signature, that's what a cartouche is. I am using the actual signature of the pharaoh. I am not an Egyptologist. I suspect they might not have a litteral translation/syntax.

As for the tech talk on drawing, it's all simple if you have someone to make you understand it. There's nothing to fear.

If I come across good shaded straight porn I'll hauler. :) But there's tons of clean furry art that's spectacular.
