Dragons were known to be kind and caring to the creations of Mereliah, doing their best to shepherd them on the path to their best selves. Although nurturing in a stand-offish way, they did their parts in guiding Mereliah's will, which included assisting with crossbreeding between her children where otherwise it was impossible. However, such mistakes did occur in the form of Drakkonids like Kanya. It was quickly found out that dragons have no parental instincts and did not know what to do with these odd children they helped bring to life. Since dragons cannot reproduce among themselves, their number being finite and their lifespans immortal, they had no need for such instincts - and so the crazy antics of these varied drakkonids brought much irritation to the dragons, but since they too were part of Mereliah's creation, they did their best to tolerate them. Although sometimes the drakkonids did do their very best to provide maximum vexation of their parental dragon donors.
