First Flight
Title can't be empty.

“It’s okay! I’ve got you!” Nemui reassured the trembling rabbit. The small, white-pelted lapine was a true beauty, dazzling the starry sky in the many colours of the spectrum. Nemui’s eyes were warm as a gentle flame as she let out a slight giggle despite herself - it was adorable seeing the younglings learning to spread their wings, big or small.
“Look, see? I’m holding your hands, I won’t let you fall.” she murmured gently, her tone soft as the clouds they dwelt betwixt. “Remember, Celestials cannot lie.”
The rabbit let out a soft gasp as she felt the air dance around her feet and sensitive ankle wings, her tiny pair fluttering as hard as they could as Nemui let her shift in close for support.
Becoming a Celestial was never easy, having to bear the light and power of a star within your very body - which had once been so fragile - and to balance it was a high demand of these younglings. Nemui was one of them once and so held them in a far more understanding esteem, versus the Elder Celestials who viewed their descendants as relatively simple-minded in comparison to their luminosity.
“Now, Lullie, I’d like you to look down.” Nemui slowly unclasped their hands and when Lullie looked up, she was flying all on her own. Tears welled up in the bunny’s eyes as she gleefully spun, then gasped in awe at the blue globe beneath them, along with the rainbow trail of her own, and the golden threads of Vitaether trailing behind Nemui. “Is that…?”
“Yes, it is! Your home, Earth.”
Lullie let out an exhilarated sigh, then glanced back to Nemui. “It’s beautiful.” she stated simply, Nemui responding with a nod.
“It is, and it is our job to protect it. As we protect all light and all beings. Are you prepared?”
Lullie’s cheeks flushed with light, before she braced both of her fists before her, giving a solid nod. “Yes!”
“Then stay near me.” Nemui murmured, smiling as she clasped her hands around the rabbit’s. “You have much to learn...but I will never leave you behind, Starlight.”
