No prob. My relatives hear from me every morning on our family Wordle/Canuckle group, so If the wife and I don't post they will look into it.

If I don't show up for coffee, there's a problem.

mmmm ... coffee. One big cup for breakfast and another, kona or flavoured usually, for sitting by the window with the dogs while I read the news.

I have to pour my own. Most mornings I'll take my coffee and breakfast back to bed, and watch the auto channel until I have to get up.

I can't go back to bed; my dogs would never stand for it. Plus, they would eat my breakfast.

One reason that, in spite of my fondness for dogs, we are currently on a pet free vacation.

Hope you find one (or two) soon.

One of ours found her present under the tree and started unwrapping it. She seemed to like chewing on the paper more than what she found inside. I was surprised that she got the right one though.

We used to have a husky that knew she had to wait until Christmas morning, but she always knew exactly which one was for her, and we let her get it herself before anyone else.

Spent some time with my clients dog today. Both very nice. Sadly, I'm not sure how much longer he'll be able to keep them.

It's always sad when someone has to give up a pet like that. We get a lot of people like that in the retirement home we visit with our therapy dog. We also see ads for older pets in the shelter because their owners died or had to move into a facility.

That's how we got our Siamese. They were nine when their owner passed away. They lived to be 19 and 23.

Wow! 23? That's old. The oldest we ever had was 16 when she had a stroke.

A record for us, too. He was healthy and active to the very end. Siamese are pretty bulletproof.

The one we had as kids lived to 19 it think. The one we had recently disappeared when she was 12. We put flyers in all the mailboxes for a mile in each direction but never heard a word from anyone that might have seen her.

They're curious, and tend to rehome themselves if given the chance. Ours would sneak out whenever it could. Rita's left and disappeared. It had done so before, but must have found a home more to it's liking.

That's what I hope happened. It's also possible that she was stolen. She was a rare lilac Point and a contractor that was working in the house were showing a lot of interest in her. I followed Kijiji and Marketplace for a few weeks but didn't see anyone advertising a hot pussy.

We always suspected that the cat had a second home that was feeding it and that it would go back and forth. I, too hope that our was taken in and adopted. Another reason that we stopped letting cats out ever, for any reason. Plus we have large wild animals, and rabies is not unknown.

One of the cats we brought back from China actually had a second home a block away from us. That cat used all of its nine lives by the time he was 16 and finally succumbed to a Ford F150.

No known antidote for that.

He survived getting lost in Beijing (where a loose cat is meals on wheels), biting into a 220 V cord, getting an infection that took out half his body weight, getting caught in a trap, being picked up by the SPCA and forgotten in the back of a cage … a few other things. The truck was incident #10

So there IS something to that 9 lives thing....
