I ended up severely underestimating just how much time I'd put into this piece. Ultimately, I think it was worth it, since I figured out some good painting tricks.

As controversial a character as Krystal has been for the Star Fox franchise, as a character either greatly loved or greatly hated with nothing in between, I've always been fond of her. It's criminal that it's been so long since she appeared in a new game. Star Fox has the same problem as the Spider-Man films in that the creative teams only seem to want to keep retelling the origin story over and over again. Star Fox has gotten that treatment three times between the original on the SNES, Star Fox 64, and Star Fox Zero on the Wii U.

I might do a few more couples pieces like this. As moody as I am IRL, I'm still a romantic at heart and a sucker for this kind of stuff.
