Serval - Fort Wayne Children's Zoo 08-07-2009
This may well be my best picture of a serval with my old DSLR. I hope to do better in a few days with my new DSLR when I go to the Memphis Zoo and see the girls.

I have to say that I am impressed with how well it came out. I got rid of the mesh in front and blurred the background into a pleasing mottled green. The camera also focused dead on on her head.
Beyond that, I got some help from the very cloudy conditions. I do not have strong shadows but did get good fill lighting in places like her neck.
As you might tell, I am very happy with the results. :-)
I find that my new camera is doing a really good job on shots like this. It is still limited by the optics, but it tends to focus ont he subject a lot better than my much older camera used for this shot.
