Yay, a cougar! I've been wanting more felines in my gallery, so I was quite happy when skooma decided to commission me for one! As weird as this may sound, I always need to spend more time trying to nail down the face on cat characters. They're just more difficult for me, and they have been since I was a little kid. I don't mind spending the extra time, because that just means that its important practice I'm getting. I'm sure I'll learn a few tricks as I continue to work on them and eventually will have no problems at all. :)

As for the commission itself, I was given a second life model to work from (and a really well made one, I must say) and asked to put him in a more action-oriented pose. I was happy to oblige! I was working on more exciting lighting as well, and I tried to go for a more interesting perspective too. Though, honestly, I really need to get funky and try to draw characters from really weird angles like down at their feet or from the top and stuff. Hrm, maybe I'll work on that during my next free art day...
