You have shortened the muzzle and added more fur/hair fluff detail. Even the clothes have better shading and detail. His arms are thicker and belly a little more pronounced. He looks older than before. I would guess you are devoting more time to drawing the pages. It shows off your artist's skills better. I'm looking forward to seeing more.
a few people are being incredibly childish and rude towards the new style. I mean sure he has his things to work on with it, but people are simply being unfair with this all.

I would also suspect the majority of viewers accept the change. When change takes place, it seems to be obvious that negative comments are more likely to be posted than positive ones. Of course the majority of the posts will always relate to what's happening within the story and not so much to changes in style.
So don't let those "incredibly childish and rude towards the new style" people bother you. It is your comic. Draw it as you see fit. The only reason to consider conforming your comic to others perceptions would be if it was commissioned or part of a job, (or if you want to try and make EVERYONE happy).
