A Chance of Serendipity: Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Getting Closer
Sean arrived at the lobby and walked to the concierge desk to inquire if the clerk had seen any unfamiliar persons walking in as he, himself, glanced around before he had asked anything. The said clerk was a hyena, in full suit and tie, all with finessed easily styled black hair that displayed pointed and nicely pierced ears, one of them in my direction as their head lifted from doing what was assumed to be "clerk things."
"Excuse me," Sean said as the clerked looked around to visualise any memory of anyone around.
"Yes, Mr. Tatchi?" they answered. Before Sean asked anything at all, he took another quick look around the room again to see if his friend was present.
"Anything the mater, Sean? You seem a bit distracted," the hyena said, intrigued.
"I-it's nothing. Well, not entirely. Have you seen a red-headed Lion, about my shoulder height, and thick-bodied?" he asked, being a bit descriptive so they can imagine a decent mental picture of him.
"Sorry, dear. No recollection of any type of Lion here," the Hyena said as their ears drooped a bit.
"O-oh. Don't worry. He's probably outside," Sean said as he shrugged, thanked the Hyena for the help and walked outside to look for said "red-headed Lion."
As for the Lion, he was outside in the parking lot, searching for the beginning of such, and the front door of the residence. He walked in between hundreds of cars, until he finally found the lot's entrance.
"Ugh, finally!" he exclaimed as he walked out and started making his way on foot to the front of the building, bewildered and frustrated, looking around for that big lug of panther that was actually located just in front of the building, looking out to the parking lot until he spotted the little lion.
"S-Sean!" the lion almost yelled as he immediately ran to the front door, swung it open, and met Sean in a very tight, but happy embrace. Suddenly, the lion was raised into the air in a by the tall feline.
"Oh my God, where were you, Addie?!" he asked, almost lumping for joy as he hugged his best friend. He placed the little one on the ground, giving him a chance to stand on his feet...completely.
"You're not the only one that has a car, you know. It took me almost a half-hour to look for a parking spot, and probably another half-hour looking for an exit from the lot itself," the little lion said timidly, his arms folded across my chest. He unfolded them, placing them in his pockets as Sean ruffled his neck-length auburn hair.
"I'm glad you came, buddy," the panther said happily as he started walking back to the apartment complex's elevators, the lion following close behind. He stopped walking, opened the door, and motioned for the smaller male to walk in before him.
"So am I, I'm psyched to see what your flat looks like," Addie said jokingly as he now walked ahead of the panther, but stopping since he was in unfamiliar territory. Elevators are simple enough, but with 30 floors, some elevators went to certain floors, and Addie was not about to choose like he knew the place.
"C'mon, now. Take my paw, and I'll lead you to my place," Sean said as he held the smaller male's right paw in his left, causing a blush to appear on said lion. Him and Addie have always been affectionate friends towards each other, but not so publicly, not out of fear, but because they were not ones to put on a show for others. For some time, Sean had been attached to Addie somewhat more romantically than platonically, and although Addie did notice, he didn't initially feel the same, yet it began to grow on him...kind of.
"A-all right, I guess" Addie answered back, stammering a bit as the panther lead him to an elevator. The doors opened, the lion walking in first and the panther following after as he pressed FL-3 on the series of buttons that almost completely occupied one of the walls. Addie leaned against on of the walls that were empty, Sean suddenly placing an arm against the elevator over the lion's head, and keeping his larger body close to the lion as his back stayed pressed against that wall. Sean leaned in, giving Addie a quick peck on the lips as a grin splayed across his face.
"I missed you so much," he said calmly. No one was in the elevator besides the two, so an audience was not present, for the time being. Sean chuckled to himself as he lifted the lion's chin the same way Addie did to him not too long ago. "I told you I should've driven you here."
"I needed to go for a little drive, anyways, Sean," Addie told him. "I wanted some fresh air, and I got some. 'Nuff said."
"Waiting five minutes wouldn't be hard for you, though," Sean said as he licked the lion's left ear, causing him to shiver a bit as looked up at Sean, being able to pick up the soft cologne he had always worn, it lingering on the soft fabric of his shirt and neck fur.
"For me, five minutes was fine. However, the drive felt like an eternity for in my head," Addie giggled back to Sean as he tiptoed, hesitated a bit and kissed the panther's muzzle softly. He placed his right paw on the lion's waist as he slid his paw up and down against it. Their tails lightly intertwined as they kept kissing, it having been one of a few ways they were...somewhat more than emotionally connected. Addie ceased the little kiss, a string of saliva connecting their muzzles as they looked into each other's eye, Sean's being a pale green, as stated earlier, and Addie's, a deep blue. The elevator doors opened as they relaxed and quietly walked out of the elevator's area, their paws clasped and digits intertwined as they quietly walked to his apartment's door.
"I wonder what the place looks like," Addie said softly, not wanting to be too loud in the hallways as Sean unlocked and opened the door...
