Halisa
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
[b]From my sci-fi novel series, "Daggers of Darkness":
Here's Halisa, the sister of Línal, and classmate of Elí and Meyleh. Halisa is sweetheart and generally loves life, though having to watch her kind, fun-loving brother being killed by the ruthless Pliq raiders was understandably traumatic for her.
This is my first art project using the new hardware and software. I started it by making the initial sketch on paper using a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with HB lead and inking the outlines using a 0.1 mm Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen with black India ink. I scanned the sketch at 800 dpi in 48-bit color, then did all coloring in Corel Paintshop Pro 2021. Text was added in MS Publisher and image reduced for uploading using MS Paint (the original is over 54 MB in size).

I'm going to draw her brother next.
She helped me out some when I first started writing. :)
LeiLani had done a series of posts aimed at helping people with writing, so you might check to see if she still has them up. In one where she was talking about the use of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person, she said that my short, "A Dream of Shadows" was an excellent example of where the reader is the main character in the story (it assumed the reader was female, since I had written it as part of a contest on a local BBS back in 1991 or so -- I won the contest, btw, despite that having been one of my first attempts at creative writing). I have that story on here, if you want to check it out. Someday I might write that like a regular 3rd person omnipotent story (where the reader knows what the characters are thinking).
I'm glad that you enjoy my stories. :) I write because I enjoy doing it, not because I expect to be on the NYT Best Seller's List or make lots of money. I make a little now and then on book sales, though I mainly just want/need to tell the story. It would be great if they could be made into movies, though that'll probably never happen...at least not while I'm still alive, anyway. Ah, well, as LInda Ellerbee used to say at the end of her commentaries, "And so it goes." :)
