She grew to being at least 170 lbs (she died at about 12:45 a.m. Monday, just about 2 months shy of her 11th birthday). Malamutes are larger than Huskies, heavier boned, more "wolf-like", and have amber to brown eyes. Malamutes have been bred to haul heavy frieght, adult males can pull up to 3,000 lbs -- a team of 4 Mals can pull as much as a pony, and teams of up to 16 have been used to move houses in Alaska. Huskies are slimmer, faster, and more "high strung", plus they can have blue eyes, where Mals can't.
