Resting Panther
From an ongoing effort to improve my drawing efforts comes this resting black panther that I sketched from a photograph. The sketches usually take under ten hours, but despite their purely technical nature, I’m quite fond of them.

Drawing from reference is the basis of any visual artists, which is sadly something I refused to see for a long while. Because even when drawing fully from imagination, it really only boils down to drawing from the reference we already have in our brain. It as sort of building a databank in our mind, from which we draw upon need. Interestingly, people with eidetic memory have serious advantage when it comes to art.
