As Taylor grew older and more distant from her family to put some emotional walls up between her and her parents for the inevitable death of her mother due to cancer, she invested her angry and hurt energies into music. She grew a strong attachment to her older, adopted brother, Max, the raccoon jazz sensation that had swept the big city. It wasn't long until she grew some notoriety of her own, playing not just guitar but learning from her brother how to play the drums as well. She used to hang out a lot at his jazz club he owned and operated, feeling most at home there and being given the most freedom from a brother who understood what she was going through. Ahya also picked up the bad habit of smoking as well, something Taylor did not mind and even encouraged during these rough teenage years.
