That just makes me sad.
But I like most how they corrected the problems they made in the film like adding the breath attack but mostly I loved the French lady that joins heat hehehehe!
I've seen a few episodes and I kind of liked them. I'm always a sucker for the underdog (even when the underdog can stomp a city). I never got into watching a lot of the series, though; I rarely watch TV and I didn't have a source for binge watching.
I do think though Zilla has an awesome look and if Hollywood had named the film and the monster something else it would have been accepted by all, I mean it was in my opinion a pretty good film and the monster design (if you think of it as just a monster and not a Hollywood variation) was awesome.

This story I wrote follows in some ways the original Gojira. He's an eldritch abomination, not an iguana.
What I did was I took out GINO, aka Zilla, and put in Gojira/Godzilla. The American Government knows what Godzilla is, that being a radioactive F-rays/plasma spouting monster who causes death and destruction and for the last 40 years, has tormented Japan...up until his disappearance in 1992.
That is until Gojira started appearing in the Atlantic and attacking American nuclear subs and then US nuclear power plants along the East Cost making his way up to New York.
And he attacks coastal cities while he goes to New York. Even makes a stop in Washington DC. In 1998.
And then, when he lays waste to New York, it looks like Hiroshima after he disappears.
So, no. This is not the Iguana...Zilla or Zilla Jr.
This is really Godzilla. The rampaging God of Destruction of Japan. He's 123 meters tall, 150 thousand metric tons. And his breath weapon is hotter than the core of the sun.
