Chapter Two: Foresight, Part Two

Some Crazy Amount of Millions of Years Ago…

“Today, we have finally created a massive device that will combine us with the Energywalkers, today we will be the dominating force in this dimension and soon the manipulation of dimensions shall begin!” Dawn said yelling out at the pantheon of Kagens before him, everyone except for the sharks jumped and clapped, with the aquatic animals providing a protest.

“Yeah, yeah Twilight. Go take your hippie protest somewhere else; we don’t have time for this.” Dawn yelled out as Twilight, in this regeneration having strange long flowing hair and wearing a leather vest. The shark waved a peace sign into the air and all the other Kagens in the room groaned at the symbol.

“You don’t get it man you weren’t there. You don’t know what went down outside of the shield!” Twilight yelled as he led his people in song, themselves waving back and forth and being a general annoyance to the Kagen Dragon. “Now then sharks, do our peaceful waves.”

Twilight put his hands up and waved them side to side, his sharks soon joining in on the action. Little did they know how much in the future Twilight would be a nuisance in the future. Or would they know, as Dawn tried to deal with Twilight and his hippy gang’s actions, a glow appeared and two shadows of two sharks appeared behind the large technobabble device.

“It was a strange time back then, there were a few things in the air of the shark world.” One of the shadows argued as he manipulated a few wires on the machine, mixing them and matching them, as they manipulated the time streams as well. He looked back at them trying to figure out which of them were witch.

“You did pot in the Kagen World!” One of the shadows loudly whispered, but Dawn would not know. Perception filters keeping the two hidden from the Kagen Pantheon. He looked confused as a shadow could as he checked a paper, trying to make sure that all the wires were in the right place.

“It was a different time, and technically we are on Earth right now. Listen we need to two hundred more combinations of these wires for each different universe, so let’s not argue about past me.” The shadow said as he checked one of the papers, making sure everything was in place for the future.

“OK, this will create three moons and this blast will knock Earth off to the right angle, ok now we can talk about me in the next timeline.” The shadow continued, as a glow enveloped both of them and they disappeared. After that it was Dawn finally finishing his monologue with a speech to Twilight about how he was wrong.

“Now then, lets a go!” Dawn said as fire blazed around him, he turned around and pressed the button. Energy signals getting mixed up as they went through the wrong pipes, imputing the wrong command. An energy bubble formed and quickly spread out over the Earth at the speed of light.

“Well that isn’t good.” Dawn said as his body glowed when exposed to the bubble, as did the rest of the Kagens. As the ten clans glowed, energy flowed in, the bubble disrupting the form of Energywalkers. Twilight and the rest of the Kagens glowed as their body’s combined with an Energywalker, their combined bodies shifting turning into something more beetled shaped.

“Hello, Twilight.” Twilight opened his eyes as he felt his consciousness moving on from his body and instead attaching to the energy beetle. He looked around in the continuous dark space and another shark appeared, an Energywalker.

“This wasn’t supposed to happen, someone messed with the timeline. We we’re supposed to combine but as a society not like this.” Twilight argued as he walked around his physical body still appearing.

“Yes, I know the future can be so hard to tell.” The Energywalker said. “Your future self and one of my ancestors are making parallel universes, ironic isn’t it that we end up together then. We’ll were going to be trapped here for a while so that might smooth out our races relationship in the end, by the way I’m Koji.”

“Well Koji, I’m Twilight. Glad to meet you.” Twilight said as he reached out and shook hands with the Energywalker, both of them trapped together in the energybeetle for all of time. Thus the Kagen dimension never existed and the Energywalkers weren’t exiled.

Each of the Kagen-walkers landed on the ground, their beetle shapes not moving as they tried to break through their new bodies. As once again with the final solution the Kagens screwed themselves over, trapping themselves once again and setting up events for the future. Twilight and Koji’s landed on the ground as an orange beetle, a black and orange gem, an onyx in their back.

As the bubble popped the energy blasted of the Earth off its axis and to a deeper tilt. The energy flowed up into space and eventually combined and eventually it turned back into the stone it was absorbed from. It settled at a gravity point where the stone would settle between a point where the Earth’s gravity and the Moon’s gravity was even, orbiting the Earth from there.

As shown the future can come out from very unlikely pasts, one where temporal manipulation is possible and multiple times lines are possible. Two shadows easily changing the path of history. They didn’t care about what they were really doing; because in the end they would had a stable timeline to go back to.

However, as a crapton of millions of years passed, dinosaurs evolving and disappearing, humans rising and furs joining them, all the while energy beetles stood silent some getting adored as pieces of sets or for their jewels, some getting temples built for them and a few getting destroyed on the way.

Eventually one ended up on Zander’s back, attaching to him and sharing the energy they stored as it fell to the ground. Zander screamed as he fell towards the ground waving his arms and trying to slow himself down as he continued to fall. He saw the snow below him and hopped that it would be deep enough to cushion his fall.

He looked around and as he faced stomach first towards the ground, the gem on his back glowed and suddenly a layer of energy formed over his body. It expanded out and formed an orange bubble around his body. Zander looked in amazement and crashed into the snow the bubble protecting his body. The bubble disappeared and Zander felt the snow melt around him.

He stood up stretching his body out as he searched around and caught the beetle turning inactive and disappearing. Putting his hand out he summoned energy into his hand a glowing ball of fire, controlled by him. His mind raced, he wondered what he could do with that. He could save the world, he could control it, no more criminals everyone under his prefect rule.

His mind snapped back and he looked around he put his hand facing forward and fired the ball of fire. As the energy blasted out, it shot into different waves firing off into the snow, melting it and loosening it. Zander looked forward as the snow re-engulfed his body collapsing.

He popped out of the snow again and laughed to himself realizing that he had found a superpower. Pulling himself out of the snow, he formed another ball of energy and played with in his hands, trying to understand what it was. He felt around and the energybeetle reappeared. Looking around he realized that he was still trapped in the hole and needed to escape.

Zander was proud of himself; he found something that in his mind made him significant. He could match his father; he could try to save Washington DC. He could finally be somebody, he needed to be somebody and that somebody could save the world from the evil forces that wanted her precious soil.

Eventually he did find a way out of the snow covered hole and found himself further in the middle of nowhere. He continued on wasting another week in the snowy country, testing his powers and seeing how they would work. He found he could fly, shoot energy balls and even from shields around his body.

He found his way back to his country just as summer ended and school started. He would keep his powers hidden for a month or two but the story of how that happened is a story for a different day. Instead we return to our regularly scheduled program.

As he looked out onto the barren lunar surface, Antonio thought good. He walked away from the window, pulling his large military waistcoat along with him, floating above the ground, crates of medicine getting pushed around as he flew around the top of the hospital waiting for someone to come for him.

Spinning around he wondered how long the people in this hospital, this place of healing, could last with a rapidly dismissing supply of air. They only had at least three hours of air to live and he needed to leave before the military arrived. Looking around he saw some of their ships in orbit, they had planned this in advance.

The child walked around the room setting things up for the future. He needed to be prepared to win against the Outsiders when they came up for combat. He would win and he would escape and one day his arms would completely fit in the arms of his waistcoat. He adjusted his gas mask, prepared to feed himself oxygen in case of a window breaking.

Rolando walked over to the window and looked out. As soon as he did,  three spaceships started to land, deorbiting and finding themselves near the hospital. The komodo dragon was worried the second he saw the RAF symbol on the side of the plane, a simple dog head.

He started to pace as he realized that somewhere within the hospital was someone with undocumented powers, someone dangerous; too dangerous for the committees to even think of sending the outsiders. The spaceship doors opened and outwalked multiple soldiers with futuristic space gear on their body.

“Rocco, the RAF is here, find Zander, find the power source and protect Adriano. I’m going to switch into one of their bodies and figure out what’s going on.” Rolando said as he closed his eyes and his body collapsed. Outside of the window of the soldiers missed a step, a simple commination failure as Rolando’s consciousness entered his body.

Rocco help up Jackson’s body, no one noticing as the nurses attempted to stay calm. He dragged him over to one of the storage closets and placed it in there. He signaled to Adriano who cautiously walked over.

“No, do not make me go in there.” The human said as Rocco grabbed him and pushed him into the storage. He shut the door and locked making sure that no one could get in. Adriano groaned as he realized due to his soft unprotectable flesh he would have to stay in the closet.

“It’s okay; I come and get you two. And when Jackson dies again, he should return to that body.” Rocco said as he tried to comfort and calm Adriano as he carelessly walked away from the closet knowing no one would touch it and they would be safe. Zander would thank him for that and Rocco knew that is what he would want him to do.

Looking around people were in crisis mode, with people trying to find out what was happen or trying to get to a safer place. Some of the people were trying to transport the sick to a safer area, but the rest weren’t alas the human condition. Rocco followed the path he took before going down the hallway and finding himself at the clinic.

He looked around walking in trying to find Zander, attempting to find him as he scanned through the clinic. He walked forward avoiding the chaos taking place behind him hoping he could find what was ever bring the RAF to the hospital. He walked through the clinic doors and found Zander being scanned by doctors in what appeared to be a soundproof room.

He walked forward not catching the attention of any of the doctors and decided to walk in. As he walked in a sound wave twisted and distorted; making Rocco’s ears ring as he comprehended the sound. Walking forward he made himself known, spreading out his arms and try to appear big.

“Ok, Ok, Doctors, sorry we are having a bit of problem and I am going to need to take Zander off of you.” Rocco said as he disconnected wires to the disgruntled groans of the scientists in the room. Zander looked at him and the snow leopard jumped off the bed he was on his energybeetle reappearing on his back, one of the doctors noticed and took one last note.

“Ok, I suggest you guys look at of a window and find me a solution.” Rocco said as he pulled Zander out of the sound proof room and back into the hospital hallway. Zander looked confused and decided to voice his confusion.

“Why did you take me out, we were making such great research. Did something happen, don’t tell me something happened. Is Adriano ok?” Zander said in order of increasing important, which Rocco said nothing until they reached a window. Instead the dragon just put out his arm and showed Zander the moon.

“Oh that’s a problem, how often do we go to the moon?” Zander asked as he examined the situation, looking out the window and trying to figure out where they were. “Ok, were on Baldor. Anything else that I should know; like what’s with the spaceships descending on the planet?”

“Well we think the RAF is involved with this, Jackson switched into one of the grunts body’s and is trying to figure out why they are here. Anything else Zander before we start?” Rocco said as he opened the door into the clinic office, standing against the wall so that no one could see him.

“Yeah! Who the hell is the RAF?” Zander asked as he followed Rocco, making sure he hid himself.

“Well if we’re the morally secure good guys we say they are, they’re the anti-heroes basically, they do what we do but will military levels of force, and they are a military with guns and some super-powered people so yeah.” Rocco said as he saw multiple soldiers in black gear walk up the stairwell, scanning people along the way trying to find someone.

“They’re scanning, who is it they are looking for. It’s not me is it, I hope not.” Zander asked as he looked out behind Rocco and scanned the surroundings and the troops. He realized that he could be the person they’d be looking for, someone to recruit and turn into a super solider. Rolando said he was a public danger and what if they knew that and were coming for him.

“Don’t worry; I don’t think it is you. When they think public danger they think, people that can shake the planet, move buildings or see forests aflame, but I turned them down.” Rocco said as he opened the clinic door and walked out, the soldiers moved on to the next level and for a while it appeared clear to walk out.

“Well then, are there any other problems?” Zander asked peeking out onto the stairwell, making sure no one was coming up. The air felt a little thin and everyone and awhile a tiny headache turned on and off. Zander looked a little woozy but then snapped out of it.

“I think we might be running out of air, if they used a forcefield to hold it in, it’s not going to take very long for most of it to turn into carbon dioxide.” Zander said as he realized that they were going to run out of air very fast, he looked around seeing another set of soldiers coming up with scanners.

“Rocco back in the clinic.” Zander said as he grabbed the dragon and pulled him back into the clinic, hoping to hide from the RAF until they passed by again. He hoped they would pass quickly and not notice them. However, as it always appeared someone did notice them and one of the metal soldiers defected off his path and walked into the clinic.

Rocco quickly jumped over the counter and pulled Zander over with him. The solider looked around scanning as he tried to find the two. Not knowing that they were behind the desk. Zander and Rocco hid, hoping they could wait out the solider but both knew they weren’t leaving soon.

Eventually, the solider noticed something and started to walk over to the desk. Rocco noticed and knew he had to protect himself. He extended his hand out beyond the desk right to its entrance and activated his powers, his suit responded to his telepathic command.

A valve opened and oil flowed out, a slick of oil forming on the floor as the solider suddenly noticed and slipped on the floor. Rocco closed the value knowing that his body would produce more oil soon. He grabbed the solider and pulled him behind the counter.

“Well then, ok now that is dealt with we need something to find this power source and I think I have the perfect idea.” Rocco said as he stood up avoiding his oil and walked further into the clinic. The doctors were still gathered trying to test their equipment and they would be prefect work to help them.

Rolando opened his eyes as he arrived at the gravity well, when he entered it he could feel normal Earth gravity on his body. He keep his helmet on as he tried to get a look ahead, seeing what was happening. There was a commander but he could barely hear him.

He looked ahead and saw someone arguing with the command, someone that appeared to be civilian. There was a person next to him, so he jumped again and entered a civilian body. He suddenly felt woozy and confused as his mind gained control over the body.

“Listen sir, I don’t know who you think you are but I have a meeting in five hours on that planet and if I don’t get back there in time you are going to severely pay for any productivity lost!” Rolando groaned inside when he realized that the person was being selfish and not even bringing up any real concerns.

“Hi, excuse me.” Rolando said as he realized he was in a female body. He pushed the man out of the way and decided to talk to the leader him/herself. “Can you supply the hospital with oxygen, the air is starting to thin and I don’t think we can breath for that much longer.”

“Listen lady, we’re trained professionals so if you want to look at my muscles, just follow us but stay out of my way, I’m sure we’ll deal with this thing before your silly air concerns are a real problem.” The general said as Rolando realized he would never get anywhere in his current body, so looking around he found a doctor and jumped into that body.

“Ok, never mind I think you really are going to do something about the air or else you might just have a thousand dead people on your hands and I’m sure the social media would love to know what happened to a massive hospital and the thousand people inside.” Rolando said as he interrupted himself, pushing his previous body away. He instead gave intense eyes to the general hoping to intimidate him.

“Well I hope you have a few spare oxygen tanks.” The general said pushing him off as he looked at him in amazement at how carless he could be with their situation. The soldiers started to march forward, making their way into the hospital. Rolando jumped into the next solider, continuing forward as he at least hoped he could find a way to teleport them back to Earth. If he was lucky no one would die.

He continued forward marching up the stairs scanning people along the way, he made sure that he didn’t give anyone away; making sure that the outsiders would still have the advantage in the situation. They continued to the top floor where as it seemed they were sending soldiers up in groups of three on the elevator.  It returned empty.

As more troops lined up behind him, it was finally Rolando’s body turn to go up the elevator. He lined up with two other soldiers in the elevator, and readied his gun. He waited the elevator climbing as he approached what appeared to be the storage attic of the hospital.

Finally the door opened and he had a sense of dread in his body. Before he could react and fire on the beast before him, he was grabbed and pulled out of the elevator along with the two other soldiers. He was dragged out and he noticed all the dead bodies surrounding the point. He felt the life drained out of his body and suddenly he was dead.

Rolando reopened his eyes, once again avoiding death as he transported back into his own body. He took a gasp of air as he realized Adriano was with him, he acted dead not wanting to shock the human and his tiny mind. He waited a few seconds and jumped into the second closest body.

He opened his eyes again at the storage closet. He unlocked it and looked at Adriano as he pulled his body out and quickly locked the door again, transporting back into his own body and looking around. He needed to figure out how to teleport the hospital back to Earth, if he was lucky Zander and Rocco got the doctors working on some sort of inverse field.

“An inverse field if you may explain?” Zander asked as the scientists came up with a solution to their hospital problem. It was a simple electric coil activated by a single red button they needed to push. It could be all over in one second if they pressed it.

“It’s an inverse field, it will recreate the energy field on the building and reverse it and hopefully teleport us back to the location where we were.” One of the scientists said speaking up and talking to the outsiders.

“Ok, if we have a way to get back…” Zander said before thinking for a second, and then another second “Then again we should probably see what the militants were searching for, we still have at least a half hour until we run out of air, so maybe we should look before we release the person back into Earth again.”

“You’re completely crazy, so scientists if we are not back in thirty minutes press the button.” Rocco said as he prepared for battle. He walked out of the clinic, ignoring the pleas of the scientists to stop, but Zander followed him forming a glove of energy in his hand.

They followed the path of the soldiers, making their way up the stairs wasting five minutes as they reached the final floor. They were disappointed to find there was an elevator servicing all the floors at the top. No one appeared to be around, but as they opened the door there was tons of evidence.

“Oh that’s disgusting!” Zander yelled as the door opened and the entire elevator was covered in a fancy layer of blood. Guns were dropped on the floor and their appeared to be a few pieces of bodies on the floor. Rocco made a disgusted sound and shivered a bit as he walked in.

“Oh god, I regret this almost instantly.” Zander said as he walked into the elevator, realizing that the investigation was his own idea and he might just regret what was happening. He pressed the elevator button and they closed; Zander saying nothing as he waited for the elevator to arrive at the top. No one said anything as they were disgusted with each the elevator and wondered what they could do.

As soon as the door opened unlike the other times they were not pulled forward by the beast but instead allowed to approach on their own. As Zander walked out he looked in shook at the child, floating above the floor waiting for them. Rocco walked out not knowing who or what the child was, but he knew children were not for warfare.

He looked at the child floating above the ground, a green military jacket on his body and a black gas mask on his body. Around his neck a black necklace, the child held it looking confused at those who were standing before him. Almost like he subconsciously recognized them.

“Well, look whose returned to see me again, what has it been fifty years, no thirty maybe. Either way you couldn’t kill me back them or will you be able to do so in the present. So I suggest if you would like to take your precious little lives with you, you press the button and return us back to the Earth.” The child said in a deep dark voice, threatening them as he attempted to manipulate the situation.

“Yeah no, so if you like to escape, let’s see if you can dodge fire.” Rocco said as standing up as sparks formed on his hands, the valve opened and oil flowed out igniting and firing forward. The blazing inferno roared forward, barely missing boxes as it made its way to the floating child.

Zander knew this would be bad, it anything caught on fire he put his hands forward and made a shield to funnel the fire away from any flammables. It formed on both sides, hopefully protecting the hospital. The flames soared towards the floating child and in defense he raised his hand.

Rocco for that second thought he had screwed up that he attacked a frightened child controlled by some benevolent force and almost was ready to pull back his flames. However, the child pushed back again the flames with an invisible force, pushing the fire back to an even middle point.

Both sides pushed forward, Rocco using all the oil he could produce sent into the fire, increasing his blaze and the temperature of the room. The child continued to push back as the room became increasingly hot, the air becoming heated and tinted. Zander started to become sweaty and tired as the heat affected his body.

He realized something else would be happening as well, he took a breath and realized the air was becoming increasingly thin at an increasingly alarming rate. He had an “oh shit” moment as he realized that fire used oxygen and Rocco was burning through what the hospital had left at a very alarming rate.

Zander tried to stand up but found himself gasping for air as he hoped that the scientists would push the button before the passed out and doomed them all.

…

“This was a horrible idea.” One of the scientist said as he tried to wobble forward and press the button, he was so close all he had to do was put his finger on it and press down. As he approached he looked so close, the hospital was so hot and the air so thin, he was nearly there and all he needed was one step.

Suddenly his legs gave out and his head flew towards the table. He nearly hit the button with his head but he instead hit the more stable metal table. Sliding off he cursing himself for being such a failure as all the scientists were knocked out or getting knocked out.

Zander continued to crawl forward but then his mission stopped his mind felt empty. He couldn’t remember anything and suddenly he couldn’t move. Everything felt blank and his vision became impaired, it felt like his brain was running for miles on miles but nothing was being done. He needed to download more ram.

He felt alone and useless as he closed his eyes realizing he had nothing to do. He curled up and decided to sleep. Closing his eyes and taking in the toxic atmosphere, he slowly fell into a sleep waiting for something to happen. Suddenly nothing, he felt like he was dead floating in an endless void waiting for something to happen to him.

“Zander wake up, we need to get back and push the button.” Zander suddenly awoke with a jolt, a voice spoke to him and suddenly he felt better. He was surrounded in some sort of forcefield, one that seemed to be trapping good air. The forcefield seemed to be connected with Zander’s oil pack, and activated its purifying qualities.

Zander walked forward and continued, he needed to press that button. He continued forward and walked into the elevator, falling down as he pressed the button and the doors closed. When they opened, hopefully on the right floor Zander wobbled out of the elevator and continued forward.

He walked into the main hallway and walked towards the clinic. He opened the door, slowly running out of air in his shield. He continued forward and pushed open two more doors until he found himself into the scientist’s room. He looked around and found the button; he ran towards it and slammed his body on it.

The button made a beeping sound as an electric blast shot out from the device. Zander walked away hoping to be the first to get some actual fresh air on his body. He continued out the way he came as he walked back into the canteen, he looked out of the window and clouds seemed to form in the forcefield. He walked over to the closet and pulled Adriano out of it.

“Look the rain is returning, we’re going back home!” Zander said as the rain started to fly upwards and an electric blast shot down the sides of the building. Zander looked at Adriano as the flash appeared and then they were teleported back.

Air quickly rushed in to the hospital, Zander taking a sigh of relief as Adriano took a breath of air. Zander made his energybeetle disappear and as did his forcefield, and he took a breath of the fresh Earth air. Adriano woke up and Zander stroked his brown and blond hair, looking at him as they hugged knowing they survived on incident.

Rocco continued against the psychotic child but suddenly as the world flashed behind them, he just disappeared the fire continuing on towards nothing. Rocco stopped his fire and realized that the child had teleported away, looking around he exited the horrid hospital and backed into the bloody elevator.

He shivered as he went back down the elevator realizing that he would have to stay in the base for a while more, he decided to sit now not caring about the blood and decided to enjoy his time in the hospital. He smiled and realized that he had some time off for now.

Rolando woke up realizing that he was knocked out and back in his original body, he looked around and everything seemed to be back to normal. He stood up and cleaned himself off, he fixed his mohawk and joined Zander in helping with the doctors.

The RAF would be rightfully pinged off that their subject escaped and probably want revenge or something but Rolando felt that he could handle it. He laughed a bit and joined the crowd.

And that’s how it all started, with Zander joining the group during a hospital siege figuring out how to bring the hospital back and proving to be a superhero. So who knows what will happen in his future or his past, maybe even his present?
