"To Catch A Zord Pt. 4"

Previously on Power Fur Rangers, the rangers destroyed their zords to stop The Evil Emperor from using them.. Then they went to the Evil Lair to rescue Lion only to learn he had become a slave of The Evil Emperor. Can they save him? Find out today on Power Fur Rangers!

“Get ready guys because you’re about to meet our new zords!” The Blue Power Fur Ranger said as the others looked at him wondering. He removed a remote control and activated it as a bright light shone around the remains of the destroyed zords and the pieces flew up into the sky and began to reform into new zords as lightning flashed everywhere and struck all around them. 

“Power Fur Rangers I give you your new Lightning Zords!” They each heard Zolton say and even Lion, on the moon, heard him though he was the only one.

“Unbelievable!” The Green Power Fur Rangers exclaimed. 

Each of the new Lightning Zords stood side by side in front of The Power Fur Rangers. There were five zords in total and each one was fashioned as the same species as Lion, Zyler, Brian, Lisa, and Terri. They were not anthropomorphic like they were but instead were their primitive forms. 

“Green Power Fur Ranger,” Zolton said. “Until the Red Power Fur Ranger returns you will operate his zord and take over as temporary leader of the Power Fur Rangers.” 

“Sorry, but since the Green Dragon Zord wasn’t destroyed and we’re not sure about your powers, I couldn’t build you a new zord.” The Blue Power Fur Ranger explained. 

“That’s OK, but let’s see what they can do against that mantis monster.” The Green Power Fur Ranger said and they entered their new zords. A feeling of dizziness hit each one as the knowledge of how to operate and control each zord was downloaded into their suit’s memory. Suddenly controlling the new Lightning Zords felt like second nature to each one. 

“Let’s do it guys” The Green Power Fur Ranger ordered and the others replied as the Lightning Zords began to move. The Red Lion Lightning Zord charged forward as it loudly roared. The Black Wolf Lightning Zord howled as it ran behind. Behind them The Yellow Kangaroo Lightning Zord slowly hopped and made punching gestures like a boxer about to enter the ring of a fight. The Pink Sparrow Lightning Zord and the Blue Owl Lightning Zord flew overhead with the feathers of their wings displaying razor sharp edges to them. 

“So they have new zords?!” The Evil Emperor shouted as he watched the new Lightning Zords charge forward on a view screen in front of the open window of his Evil Lair that faced the planet. 

“So you are not the only one to have new toys.” Lion remarked bitterly as he watched the screen. He felt a pang of regret as he watched The Green Power Fur Ranger piloting The Red Lion Lightning Zord. 

“Let’s see if they can block my new spells.” The Evil Emperor said as he raised his staff and fired a beam of pure energy that looked light lightning at The Lightning Zords. The energy bounced off the zords harmlessly. 

“No matter, my monster will destroy their new toys. The Evil Emperor said dismissively. 

“We’ll see,” Lion remarked with a grin. 

Lady Mantis stopped walking suddenly as she felt small tremors under her feet. She looked up and saw The Lightning Zords charging towards her. Her scythe blades unfolded like fans  and she raised them to defend herself. 

The Red Lion Lightning Zord charged and struck as he it bit into her exoskeleton. She was thrown to the ground as spark exploded off her. 

“How,” She started to ask but was interrupted as The Black Wolf Lightning Zord pounced on her head and forced her back towards the ground. The Black Wolf Lightning Zord then used her to springboard off as it leapt away. 

The Yellow Kangaroo Lightning Zord hopped forward and punched her as she tried again to stand. 

“Wow I love these new zords.” The Yellow Power Fur Ranger exclaimed. 

“LIKE great job Blue Power Fur Ranger.” The Pink Power Fur Ranger said causing The Blue Power Fur Ranger to blush. The momentary distraction was enough that Lady Mantis jumped to her feet and she used her fan scythes blades to cut the air and send energy slashes at the Blue Owl and Pink Sparrow Lightning Zords. The Lightning Zords dodged the attacks easily. 

“LIKE that was close.” The Pink Power Fur Ranger exclaimed. 

“No problem! These babies can handle that weak attack and more.” The Blue Power Fur Ranger said confidently. 

“Ahhh,” The Green Power Fur Ranger cried as he suddenly gripped his chest. 

“You alright?” The Black Power Fur Ranger asked. Inside the helmet of The Green Power Fur Ranger, red warning lights began to flash and warning sounds beeped. A timer showing fifteen minutes started counting down. It was warning him that he needed to recharge his powers. 

“I need to recharge? Already?” The Green Power Ranger said.

“I thought that chair was supposed to fix that?” The Yellow Power Fur Ranger asked. The Yellow Kangaroo Lightning Zord jumped in front of the Red Lion Lightning Zord to protect it as it limped away with the weakened Green Power Fur Ranger inside. 

“Seems I’m almost outta power. We should try the Lightning Megazord to end this.” The Green Power Fur Ranger said.

“Will we be able to? With you in your weakened condition?” The Black Power Fur Ranger asked.

Inside the Secret Base of The Power Fur Rangers, an alarm began to sound and images of what the Green Power Fur Ranger saw in his helmet were displayed. 

Inside the Secret Base of The Power Fur Rangers an alarm began to sound.

“No, no, no, no,” Klank cried as he observed the monitor. “The Green Power Fur Ranger is almost out of power.”

“I was afraid of this! Because the recharge chair is not suited to his feline physiology. It can only provide him enough energy for fifteen minutes. The warning is a reminder that he only has five minutes of energy left before his powers give out.” Zolton explained.

“Using The Red Lion Lightning Zord seems to use up his power faster. We need to take The Red Lion Lightning Zord away from him.” Klank replied as his voice was full of worry.

“The remote that Brian made would allow me to control The Red Lion Lightning Zord, but not indefinitely. We may need to limit him to zord battles only.” Zolton responded. 

“No, no, no, no, If only the Power Masked Ranger chair had worked.” Klank mused. 

“My time is almost up. We need The Lightning Megazord.” The Green Power Fur Ranger said. 

“Let’s show this bug the power of lightning.” The Black Power Fur Ranger added. 

The Red Lion Lightning Zord jumped up high in the air and its legs and tail folded up inside the body while the head lowered to it’s chest area. This formed the body of the Lightning Megazord. The Pink Sparrow Lightning Zord had its head and legs fold up into its body while the wings were spread wide. The wings attached themselves to the back of The Red Lion Body. The Yellow Kangaroo Lightning Zord formed the legs and attached to The Red Lion Body while The Blue Owl Lightning Zord transformed into the arms and attached themselves to The Red Lion Body. 

Finally, The Black Wolf Lightning Zord split in half and its halves transformed into twin Zabuza swords. They spun in circles and they rose above The Lightning Megazord and they landed into the hands of it. The Lightning Megazord landed with a muffled thud and took a step forward as Lightning that was generated from the transformation struck the ground in a brilliant flash of light. 

“Am I supposed to be impressed, Rangers?” Lady Mantis 

“Don’t you know that you should take shelter when lightning strikes.” The Yellow Power Fur Ranger mocked. 

“I expect her to get a charge outta this then.” The Blue Power Fur Ranger added. Lady Mantis ran at The Lightning Megazord and slashed with her scythe fan blades. The Lightning Megazord used the Black Wolf Zabuza Blades to block the attack then counter attack. She tumbled to the ground as sparks flew everywhere. 

Lady Mantis tried to rise but The Lightning Megazord kicked her and she rolled on the ground. 

“Lady Mantis, this one is for our original Megazord. You’re Finished!” The Green Power Fur Ranger shouted. The Lightning Megazord flew up into the air with its wings spread and it lifted the twin Zabuza blades. Lightning struck the blades charging up The Lightning Megazord as the flows of energy were directed into the mouth of The Red Lion head on the chest. 

“Lightning Supernova!” The Power Fur Rangers shouted together. The eyes of the Red Lion head began to glow a bright blue as the mouth opened. A ball of pure white light formed as red and yellow tiny bolts of lightning were discharged from it. The monster looked at it as the white orb was fired at it with incredible speed. 

The orb struck and everything turned white as the monster crumbled into ashes as it broke apart. There was a huge explosion from the impact as the white light was blinding. The Power Fur Rangers jumped out of The Lightning Megazord as it landed. They reverted back into their original forms and Klank transported them back inside their secret base. 

The Lightning Megazord separated and was transformed back into the broken pieces of the old zords. Five steel columns rose in front of The secret base and the remains of the zords were transformed into smaller versions of the old zords as they came to rest on the columns. 

Tom fainted briefly as the last of his powers had been used up. and was transported directly into his recharge chair. The group watched him with concern in their eyes but as he sat there he breathed a sigh of relief as his powers were being recharged. 

“S-S-S is that the best your little book could do?” The Evil Empress asked mockingly. Gollip clung to The Evil Emperor’s leg and kissed it lovingly. The Evil Emperor rose and kicked his leg that Gollip was attached to and kicked him off sending him flying towards the wall.

“This was only because I did not rest up after we returned home. My next monster will be much better. Plus my new slave is going to help us destroy The Power Fur Rangers.” The Evil Emperor said then he gloated at Lion as he stood by indifferently. Gollip ran between The Evil Emperor and Lion and glared jealousy that his master was giving Lion more attention than him. Lion watched with pity considering how Nick was better before turning back into Gollip. 

In the secret base of The Power Fur Rangers, Tom sat in the recharge chair as Zolton explained to them about the limited ability to use his powers. 

“Fifteen minutes? That’s it?” Zyler exclaimed. 

“No, no, no, no, fifteen minutes right now but the more we use the chair the weaker his powers will become.” Klank said.

“So he could lose his powers completely?” Brian asked. 

“LIKE what do we do?” Lisa asked. 

“We should make a trade. Me for Lion! That way you guys get Lion back and as a slave of The Evil Emperor I get my powers back to full.” said Tom. 

“No way,” Zyler shouted. 

“LIKE Lion knew what he was doing when he surrendered.” Lisa replied. 

“Plus you have knowledge of The Lightning Zords that The Evil Emperor could use. They could use it to find a weakness if they got their claws on you.” Zolton said. 

“We are done negotiating with them! We cheat and we know they are gonna cheat us yet we still play along.” Zyler replied angrily. 

“Now Lion is his slave and even if you offer yourself, they’ll never honor the trade.” Terri added. 

“You’re right,” Tom said glumly. 

“I know your heart is in the right place. If we are to rescue Lion, we must be as crafty as The Evil Emperor is.” Zolton said.

“I have an idea, but not sure how well it will work.” Brian spoke up as he adjusted his glasses with his wing. “Slavers have a device that allows them to unlock a slave's collar when their masters want to get rid of them. They unlock then reattach the collar so that they can be sold to someone new.

I can try to build a device like that that could unlock his collar and free him.” Brian explained nervously. 

“LIKE how do we get him to touch or get near it?” Lisa asked. 

“Simple,” Tom replied. “We trick him.” 

“What are you thinking?” Zyler asked. The others nodded as they wondered what plan Tom had in mind. 

“Brian builds the device to free Lion and we set it up in a hidden place. We spread a rumor that a Power Fur Ranger needs to touch the device to recharge and gain control of their Lightning Zords. The Evil Emperor will send in Lion to take control but the device will free him instead.” Tom explained. The group looked at each other doubtfully. 

“LIKE I doubt The Evil Emperor would believe that one.” Lisa said and the others murmured and nodded in agreement. Zolton’s imagine was silent as he appeared to be lost in thought as it hovered above his time sphere. 

“You might be onto something but I do agree with Lisa. I too doubt that The Evil Emperor will believe in the plan you just explained. However it does have merit and with some… modifications we might get it to work.” Zolton said. 

“It seems too obvious but I’m sure we will make it work somehow.” Brian said.

“Which I’m fine with, it was just something I was tossing out to get the call rolling.” Tom said. He was grateful that his friends were so supportive of his ideas. 

“What if we change it around a bit? We could say we have new zords so what if we say we’re searching for new powers too? We could pretend to lose the next battle, then let it slip that we can get new powers?” Zyler said.

“No, no, no, no, I think we are overcomplicating the plan and that is what makes it unbelievable.” Klank replied. 

“I think Klank is right.” Terri said. 

“In the evil lair on the moon The Evil Emperor transformed into his alter ego Uncle Buck. As he appeared in his deer form before Lion the suit he wore was far more expensive and resplendent than the one Lion was forced to wear. 

“So my assistant,” Uncle Buck said with his voice sounding nurturing. “How would you destroy The Power Fur Rangers if I gave you the chance.” He asked. Lion felt a pulse from his slave collar. He remembered that he had been ordered to answer all of his master’s questions and he must be completely truthful. 

“I would start… by destroying the weakest link in their chain. The Green Power Fur Ranger can’t be recharged because his powers come from you. Only you can recharge his powers that leaves him weakened and easy prey. Destroying him will weaken them significantly because they will be down to four Power Fur Rangers.” Lion said with his tummy upset because he knew he had betrayed his team. Even though his collar made him do it he still felt it was his fault. 

“What do you think, my Deer?” Uncle Buck said as he smiled at his wife. She gave him a look back than made a false smile. 

“I have just the monster to destroy the Green one,” Shark-Finster said as he placed a small doll that looked like a spider on the floor. “Monstrum Arcesse Ktanos.” He chanted and the spider creature grew until it was transformed into a normal monster. 

“What is your name?” Uncle Buck ordered and the monster just looked at him.

“Um, because my creations are dolls they cannot talk for some reason.” Shark- Finster explained bashfully. 

“Let’s fix that.” Uncle Buck said and twin bolts of lightning erupted from the antler’s he work and it struck the monster. 

“I am Aracnorok.” The monster said as Shark- Finster stared in disbelief. “How may I s-serve you?” It pulled out some knitting that was stored behind its back made of her own webbing. She began to knit with the white webbing glowing green occasionally. 

“You will capture The Green Power Fur Ranger and use your webs to drain his powers. First my kin will lure them out then you will sneak in and capture The Green Power Fur Ranger.” Uncle Buck ordered the multi legged monster. 

“Yes master.” Aracnorok said and she scurried away. 

The group watched a monitor as the kin appeared at a local outdoor pool. The species that played in the water with their cubs panicked and screamed as they jumped out of the pool and ran for safety. 

We got dragon faces

we got dragon teeth

when you hear us 

we’re loud and noisy

We’re former Crows that's tough

The Kindred Power!!!

“I haven’t had enough time to recharge?” Tom said as he nervously watched the scene. 

“We can handle them.” Brian said confidently.

“Save up your power in case they send another monster down.” Terri said. Lisa rolled her eyes but said nothing. 

“Shabot Ve Sum, Baby” They shouted as they crossed their paws in front of them making ‘X’ shapes then closed their eyes. They quickly opened their eyes as they extended their index and middle fingers as if they were unsheathing claws. They then clasped their paws together as if holding a ball of energy and motioned to pull their paws behind their backs. 

“Power of The Black Power Fur Ranger.” Zyler Shouted.

“Power of The Pink Power Fur Ranger.” Lisa Shouted. 

“Power of The Blue Power Fur Ranger.” Brian shouted.

“Power of The Yellow Power Fur Ranger.” Terri Shouted. They then motioned as if they were throwing the energy like a fireball forward. The rings they wore transformed into a gray colored goo that quickly completely enveloped their bodies. The goo hardened and became their Power Fur Ranger outfits that looked as thin as spandex but stronger than the toughest steel. The helmets they wore had blackened slots where the eyes were so they could see out of it. Their bodies seemed androgynous and the armor made it appear as if they made more muscle mass than they actually had. 

The Power Fur Rangers were transported to the pool and species ran in fear but several began to cheer as they ran to fight the Kin. 

“No, no, no, no, it’s strange, I’m detecting a monster but I can’t lock onto the exact location. Something is blocking the scanners.” Klank said as he frantically searched for the monster. 

“Then I have to go.” Tom exclaimed. 

“No Tom, you only have two minutes of energy stored up. You need more time to recharge before you can go back out.” Zolton told him. 

“But,” Tom tried to protest. 

“You sit and The Power Fur Rangers will take care of the kin. We will find that monster, relax.” Klank said. Tom sighed deeply. He turned and watched the monitor as The Power Fur Rangers were fighting against the kin. 

“Where is the Green one?” Aracnorok said to herself as she watched from a hidden secluded spot. She stepped back into a portal and reemerged inside a cave where she had erected a giant spider web. The strands of webs briefly glowed green then returned back to their normal white color. 

“I just need the right bait,” She mused. “ Maybe a nice plump pink birdie might attract the notice of a certain feline.” She laughed as she thought about a way to capture The Pink Power Fur Ranger.
