The LS FirmingWave, a modified Shetlar Mining and Repair ship now used by Chakat Thornbrier as hir primary method of space travel. It is five decks total and has a standard crew compliment of around sixty people. It is capable of warp 6.4, has mining lasers, tractor beams, and has shielding capable of withstanding high speed material and energy collisions for a short time. Officially, the ship is classified as an unarmed civilian vessel, however, given the nature of its research it is often equipped with one or more experimental weapon or fighter systems as well as the top secret portal system which can be used both offensively and defensively.

Director Thornbrier Ashworth provides the ships mission goals while Captain Samuel Strolder commands the crew to achieve those goals. Captain Strolder is a sturdy Border Collie Morph and runs a very tight ship even when there are no missions for several months.
Fantine, a Shozi'Toan who often pretends to be a very large chakat, is the Chief of Security and personal body guard for Director Ashworth and hir family. To this end Fantine works with Captain Strolder in ensuring the crew is safe, efficient, and secure in all their work.
Chief Medical Officer HiltSong helps to maintain the general well being of the crew and their many cybernetic augmentations. Shi is also studying Fantine's alien physiology and providing life extension treatments.
Chief Engineer Thylia Swolvron, a Shetlan, took over running the engineering department following the final LRSI experiment Thorn conducted with her people. At first Thorn was reluctant, but as other duties took hir from Engineering shi was glad to have another two pair of hands keeping things in line down there, eventually giving over full command of the department.
Lt Engineer J'Gursh, a young Catian male, was promoted for his cool head during the LRSI #6 disaster. He now operates as Chief Swolvron's 'upper right hand man' in engineering.
