Pack Behavior: Life Giver
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
“I don’t think this one is going to make it.” Nurse Joy spoke quietly as she looked over the piplup that was currently on several different machines within the back area of the pokemon center. “The extensive internal damage that she’s received is going to take months to recover from, and that’s if we can get the swelling to go down.”
“I can’t believe that this little one was able to protect her trainer like that despite taking such a beating.” Carl said while sorrowfully looking down at the slumbering water type pokemon.
When the young trainer had been brought in, his body covered with scars and tears streaming down his face, both Carl and Nurse Joy had looked to each other with the same thought in mind. The second after the boy had told them what had happened between him and his father, and how the other had been abused him to the point that his piplup had actually gotten in between the two of them Carl had immediately gotten on the horn to call up Officer Jenny. Nurse Joy on the other hand worked to calm the young trainer down with a deep hug and some soothing words of comfort while her chansey went to make some soothing tea. It took ten minutes for Officer Jenny to get to the pokemon center, thankfully it had been a slow night tonight, but by that time Nurse Joy had taken the piplup into the back area to begin treating the unconscious water type. Carl had, in turn, spent nearly an hour with the trainer and Officer Jenny working over exactly what had led to all of this happening. By the time the police woman was able to work out a coherent statement she radioed in to the Torec Police Department of the situation and then quietly took the young boy from off of Carl’s hands.
Once sure that the other would be okay Carl immediately went to go and help Nurse Joy.
It took the two of them almost an hour to clean, disinfect, and then get the piplup on a breathing apparatus but once they did the pair breathed a sigh of relief that the water type pokemon was at least stable.
“Pokemon are more loyal than humans.” Nurse Joy said offhandedly making Carl wonder if she was speaking more to herself than to him.
“I know, but this is just… I don’t even have words for this!” that the young man was actually growling was not missed by Nurse Joy, however she chose to let his anger pour itself out rather than to pacify it, as she had seen that such things often worked out better for the passionate young man in the end. “Do you think we should try and call another center and have her transferred over?” Carl asked after his rage subsided.
“Probably. I just hope that this poor piplup can make the trip.”
Neither Nurse Joy nor Carl said anything after that, however when Carl suddenly gasped out loud Nurse Joy turned to look at him curiously.
“Joy, what’s today?”
“The eighteenth, why?”
“The moon is going to be full tomorrow, right?” Carl asked as he felt his blood bubble up underneath his skin as voiceless whispers whispered advice into his ears.
“Yes, but…”
“Joy, can I ask you to step out of the room?” Carl said quietly, his head bowed down to the point where the pink haired woman couldn’t see his face.
“Alright, but what are you…”
“Just… I’m going to do something, and if works we can’t ever speak about it again, alright?” Carl said, his voice wavering somewhat in fear and uncertainty.
“What are going to do?” Nurse Joy’s green eyes stared hard at the young man who was now trembling slightly.
Carl said nothing, instead he turned his now crimson eyes to stare at the human. Nurse Joy gasped. “Please, just walk out of the room and don’t say anything.” Carl’s inhuman voice pleaded for second time.
Even though she didn’t understand Nurse Joy nodded and then slowly stepped out of the intensive care room. Once the door was closed Carl let out a deep breath that he didn’t know he had been holding and then turned to look down at the unconscious piplup. Raising up his hands and then clasping them together the were-lucaroc closed his eyes and then searched deep inside of himself for a certain familiar warmth. Upon finding it the young lycanthrope tugged at the bundle of energy, slowly bringing it up to the surface of his mind before releasing it outwards.
In moments streams of pink energy filled the room to the brim.
Ten minutes later Carl opened the door and as he had expected Nurse Joy was leaning against the wall, her chansey holding a now empty cup of tea in its hands. Both turned to look at the sweat soaked young man who said...
“I think the piplup is going to be fine now.” Carl said with a tired smile.
