Nuclar
This is my only marine race so far. They naturally live in eusocial deep-sea colonies, with different classes having differently designed right arms. This one's a hunted and therefor has a harpoon. I have yet to think of any others, but probably will, eventually.
The hole on its back is its biological jet's intake end, while the gill-like thingies on its chest and protruding from the sides of its back are the propulsion ends. They also absorb gasses and nutrients through their interior jet-lining, which is how they feed and breath.
They are one of 36 planned sentient alien species that'll feature in my Panentheia novel series.
[Appearance largely based off an entry in Keith Thompson's "50 Robots to Draw and Paint". I plan on creating a more original version at some point.]
