Wages of War
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Yepp, it is done: a new traditipnal artwork about “Reptile Cynrik” and the current war he’s fighting. Together with his friend an king, Kyle Primor, Reptile is trying to defend his home and the people he loves against the brutal and ruthless Barbarians from Khaldor!
Ok, it’s been some kind of “traditon” that… my TRADITONAL MEDIA ARTWORKS do most of the official storytelling these days.
My DIGITAL MEDIA ARTWORKS usually express quick ideas or serve as character sheets, but this here is my speciality. ^_^
In this scene, we can see that the “wages of war” are not always nice and sweet. Sometimes, you lose a lot more than you think.
I’d love to quote a character from the last episode from “STAR TREK – DEEP SPACE NINE”:
“Isn't it obvious? You may win this war, Commander; but I promise you, when it is over, you will have lost so many ships, so many lives, that your victory will taste as bitter as defeat.”
Enjoy this new artwork! I indeed enjoyed creating it. :-)
Drawing Media: Traditional (Pencils, inks, markers, acrylics... and NO computer!)
Size: 30x40 cm (DIN A3)
Working Time: 20 hours
Art and character © Patrick Reichel 2012 aka

NOTE:
Yes... even if "Reptile" surely is the eye-catcher here, I'm sure the sourrounding scene won't be forgotten! ^^

I notice the scuffs on Reptile's knees; only you would put so much detail into a piece of art. I must ask thought :) are the birds just a result of having extra space or did you plan that from the start?
Much praise ^__^ This was a pleasant, late night surprise.
Your comment is highly appreciated. Also, I'm glad you noticed the continuation here. ^____^
The birds (vultures) are some kind of "inside gag"... not long ago, I drew a quite horrific background for an artwork and it included vultures. I liked them so much that I had to draw them again! :D
Thanks again! Glad I could make your day. ^________________^
But when was this other picture you speak of, did I miss something?
;-)
Did you ever read the Dark Tower series by Steven King?
Another masterpiece
Klar, Reptile ist cool. ;-)
