Thavi's Hammer
[b]From my "[i]Daggers of Darkness[/i]" sci-fi novel series:[/b]
This is the geologist's rock pick-hammer given to Thavi by her sister, Naverilasanna ("Naveri" for short), upon completing her training as a Smith.
The hammer was crafted on the Forge of Dakanevin from a collapsed metal alloy similar to that used by kinetic penetrators, making it quite dense and incredibly hard. The gold-streaked rich brown wood for the grip is from a tree that grows on the Thabbani homeworld which is prized for its toughness, durability, and beauty. The shaft is decorated on one side with a symbolic version of Valerna, the Dra'kan female (who happens to be Erlanna's mother) that fell in love with the legendary Thabbani metalsmith in the ancient past. Together, Dakanevin and Valerna created the mighty Weapons of Light in the realm of the First Ones to be used against the Dark Bloods.
Thavi carries this hammer with her throughout the "[i]Daggers of Darkness[/i]" saga.
