So: nothing is overblown or falling appart from the sensor... But I'm not as impressed by the IQ here. I'd expect a good system would toss in your face a sense of sharpness and 3D that makes it all pop. The pic is OK but not outstanding yet conditions look interesting.

A dude with a pricey birding canon setup would have a super sharp 3D looking photo there... If you go to the nature photographer website, and look at bird pics you'd know what I mean.

This was a crop from a much bigger picture. A chance shot, not neccessarily one of the best ones. But I didn't get to take pictures as much as I wanted to lately.

And well, I used to use a 5D Mark II but it's AF is not suitable for photographing planes really.

I don't think there's many AF that can handle that. Target moves too fast to be edge detected.

Like the pic. Where do you fly at? I'm from Indiana and have ~10 planes, 5 helis, a quad, and a car. I love to fly. I'm currently learning how to pirouette flips with my MCPX BL heli. I'm assuming you've heard of the AMA, right?

I fly in austria. I knof the AMA, we got something similar here too.

If you ever come to the USA, make sure you come at the time of the IRCHA competition. It's the world's largest RC helicopter event and one of the best competitions I've been to. I don't compete in any of them, but I want to some day.
