There's been a running joke in my friends group that all dragons are a bit eccentric, but that blue dragons are the wildest out of all of them. Given my husband's temperament, we always used to joke "Are you SURE you're a red dragon and not a blue in disguise?"

Seems like Fyn noticed that with Khargroth and that he never seems to breath fire, and decided to see if the red on his scales was real...
