"Jasper, I'm just gonna gonna I'm so sorry for everything." Holden stood, wiping away a very visible tear forming in his eye. Everything was happening so quickly. One moment he felt like he was floating, and the next, everything was falling to pieces around him. He wanted so badly to stand and grab him and pull him back into his arms again, into that warm, safe place. "That's right, get going." Abby said in her usual, harsh tone. Holden rushed out the door, a sob clearly breaking in his voice. "Holden, wait! Don't go!" Jasper shouted, but it was too late. He heard Holden's footsteps bound down the stairs and the front door open and slam shut.
