TWO-PART INVENTION

“To ensure maximum harmony, cooperation will be required."

“'To ensure maximum harmony, cooperation will be required.' I know, sheesh. You got me where you want me. Chill."

“On the 23rd of April, 2276, you were involved in a consciousness transfer event, since deemed illegal, involving a Type-3 anthropic sentience into a therian shell."

“Is that a question?"

“Magnanimity would like you to recount this event to the best of your capability."

“Well, I guess I'll obscure this event to the worst of my capability. You already got my stuff, I don't know what else you hope to get from me."

“Magnamity reminds you that you are under oath."

“I remember that I am under oath. Chill."

“For eight days, you stalked Thaddeus Chandler Bloemendahl, human, before abducting him and forcing him into a ripscanning contraption of your own making."

“Under oath, I remember it differently."

“Remember it how?"

“Remember that Thaddeus begged to have the bleeding procedure done, even made me prepare the materials. But when I tried to approach him for payment, he kept running."

“You deny that you were stalking him?"

“I do deny that, yes. I was trying to get my cut. I caught up with him eventually, and he paid up and we went to my workshop."

“Let's focus on that next. Your ripscanner, it was jury-rigged, no?"

“Jeez, you make me sound like a junkyard rat. It was self-made, that's all I'll say."

“And your stack implanter?"

“Purchased legally from a scrap dealer. I have the papers and all."

“Records indicate that said implanter was stolen from Guyenne Clinic six months ago."

“Dunno anything about that. You can check my papers."

“What was the purpose of your dual-part contraption?"

“I prefer to call it an invention in two parts. It transfers mind-states. First in the world."

“So your self-made innovative device ported over the consciousness of Mr. Bloemendahl from his body into a host shell, which was an unprecedented historical event. How did Mr. Bloemendahl respond to this?"

“I thought he'd be happy, but he just kept screaming about how he had a tail."

“That will be all for now. Thank you for your cooperation."
