This is a composition where parts of five photos are used to create the final image. This gives a higher dynamic range than could be achieved with a single shot, hence the HDR tag.

How many images? What was the stop interval? I've done a few HDR images myself.

Five images and nominally 2 EV between images. (-4 EV, -2 EV, 0 EV, +2 EV, +4 EV) I used EasyHDR3.5 for the compositing. I think I used High Contrast 3 from the standard settings for this image.

I was using the HDR program that came with Photoshop, and that was an absolute disaster. I all but gave up on HDR. Then I had good success with the in camera HDR on my Olympus OM-D E-M1 and started looking for something better for the computer. I am much happier with these results. I have not delved deeply into the guts of the HDR settings yet.
