Epilogue: After being rescued, Pete and Lilith learned that Venom was being forced to make reparations now that the war was over. Venom was now under Cornerian control, and in addition to all the money Venom was being made to pay for all the damage they caused during the war, many Venomian POW’s were being made to assist in rebuilding and clean up on Corneria and other planets in the Lylat system, while other POW’s, who were found guilty of particularly cruel and heinous war crimes, faced much worse punishments. Pete, concerned about what might happen to Lilith now after learning all this, made an effort to put in a good word for her. Much to his relief, his superiors had an alternative option in mind for Lilith. They asked her to aid the Cornerian Army in tracking down and capturing remnants of Andross’s army that were still at large, and in exchange for this, they would grant her amnesty. Lilith agreed to this and, along with a recently promoted Pete to the rank of Colonel, became part of a task force committed to tracking down and capturing remnants of Andross’s army.
Eventually, after being granted amnesty, Lilith chose to officially join the Cornerian army and build a new life for herself on Corneria rather than be repatriated back to Venom. She even eventually got to meet Pete’s family, who wanted to thank her personally for saving Pete’s life during their time stranded on Eladard’s moon.

I really had difficulty trying to figure out how to end this story. I wanted it to be satisfying as well as somewhat realistic, so I even ended up doing historical research on real life war aftermaths and the fates of prisoners of war. I hope you all enjoyed this image series.
