You can never be *too* confident in your status as an apex predator... This tiger has made that very mistake, so confident in his position atop the food chain that he didn't think there would be any safety issue at all when he found a nice, warm rock out in the middle of a field that he thought would make an excellent nap spot.
To the tiger's misfortune, a hungry horse passed by, saw his tail flicking in his sleep, and decided the big cat would be better as a series of big bulges in the horse's body. He managed to swallow that tail and the feline's hips before the cat woke up, at which point the big carnivore had no leverage to stop himself from disappearing for good into the "herbivore".
