Pozhudinsko Isle
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
first of all many thanks to https://furrynation2013.sofurry.com/ for making this for me! may sustina preserve him!!!
Now where to start, where to start.
Isle of Pozhudinsko is a small, irrelevant isle, compared to the mainland continent which sits across the midway sea, a sea named because of its position between the continent and the isle of Pozhudinsko (the largest of the isles, surrounded by smaller isles) and it stretches out all the way north, spiting the two once united landmasses into two separate once. It is not exactly recorded when the humans first came to the isle and there are two theories about that, made by those who study history and in this age... there are too few of them to actively investigate the origins of humanity on this isle. the first theory is that they emigrated or crash landed on the isle from one of the tribes of human mutants from the Land of kovine on the westren continent, but that is probably not the case because the humans on the isle are not mutants at all. The second theory is that they came directly from the original birthplace of mankind of mankind, Svrsotina which is a large landmass wayyyy north east from here, then again that is also unlikely since humans at that time didnt build ships strong enough for such voyage.
Anyway, at a unkown point in time, around 25 000-20 000 years ago humans settle the area and began to mark history which they didnt even record. The main features on the isle are the Cmar crater in the center, which hides a thick forest and it is of unkown origins, in a war 500 years ago between Detomia and Mechava, which was brutal, it fell into Mechavas hands and has been a bastion of activity ever since, with waves of immigrants pouring in to it, it remains one of the best developed, if not the best developed part of the isle to this day. Its inhabitants live the best lives under the thick trees, whom they much respect. Mechava has granted them a status of a subkingdom and has granted them some autonomy. Culturally the citizens of Cmar differ greatly from their coast line brethren as they are much more calm and collected.
The main, coastline Mechava region is a place shrouded in mystery, even to the Mechavans themselves. Their climate is some of the most inhospitable to be found in this part of the world. As the Cmar crater and Moroljubne planine block the passage of wind and the sunrays, their climate is… odd to say the best. The main problem for them is that once the wind gets through, its stays, as such it can snow for years or scorching heat can stay for years as well. The vast network of canals, bays and small rivers don’t help things either since they freeze when it snows and dry up when its hot and not to mention they create pockets of swamp areas around them. This all has motivated Mechavan history to be a violent one, with the first settlers fighting each other for food and after a few thousand year one could safely say they became a pretty much warrior culture, which they preserved to the present day. This has also caused the number of Mechavans to wary, at some points in time, when the climate was stable, it had huge cities with a vast population and at other points it was a sparsely populated wasteland. Its capital Slava was located on the place where the great king of Mechavans was born, it is said that it was he who united all Mechavan tribes but his name was lost to time and people these days call him Slava which means “glory”. It is said he was born in Mechava but that he came from another place, which doesnt makes sense even to Mechavans themselves. The city itself has served as a capital for a very long time and the sea around it is constantly covered in a thick fog and no ships that went to the east ever came back. The natives called this sea Slava as well or “the sea of glory”. Aside from that, with the capture of the Cmar crater Mechavans have solved one of their biggest problems which was food, as they were unable to farm much of the coast line regions, the crater means a LOT to mechavans, both for its agriculture and its minerals.
Moroljubne planine lies way to the north of the isle and it’s the least populated part of it, whit few scattered settlements most of whom aren’t even charted. It belongs to Detomia only on paper, since there is no military presence there and virtually it has no communication with the kingdom. This fact makes Detomia only larger then Mechava on paper, but in effect it is smaller. The few autonomous settlements that exist there are de facto independent and it is doubtful that they know Detomia even exists and vice verse. Aside from that, this region is the least explored and not much is known about it, thou there have been occasional pushes by the Detomian kings to colonize it and claim its riches as their own, all of those have failed.
The capitol of the detomian kingdom lay on the pickur river who’s begging was in Bogu iza nogu plains (literary translated as “behind gods legs”). The plains lay directly east of the capitol and it was one of the richest portions of the isle and it was the richest part of the kingdom with many villages and even more workable fields. Still a lot ruins were there testifying that once the region was even more prosperous, but the wars have eroded its glory. The two man towns in this place were Pizdici and Vuko Jebina.
To the south, the western part of the isle was in Detomian control, it shared many traits with the Bogu iza nogu plains, but it was in an even more eroded shape, with many ruins populating the area and since the forests were common there, bandits found it easy to populate this place. The main feature here is the kings road, an ancient road (by human standards) which connects the capitol with Visegrad. Here as well lay Malions cave near the village of Varkenrel.
on the south of the isle lay the merchant state of Maliona, the poorest of the states. This is the only place where you could find members of the other species aside from humans, still they are in but small numbers. The country was plagued by problems since it first came to be. It had no capital, but a number of smaller towns on the coast. After much competition and a rising economy, the trading nobles agreed to link their towns into one bigger one called Visegrad, it wasn’t a city but rather a very wide populated area, connected to the capitol by the kings road. To prevent one family from gaining the upper hand a semblance of democracy was created with all noble houses being equal. However, after the first union they barely manage to avoid being incorporated into the other kingdoms and they have stagnated ever since, even going into a repression.
