Oh right, totally forgot the 880's and 990's have ridges and whatnot in their design ^_^;;; One of these days I'll get to listen to a pair of Beyerdynamics, but for now I'm more than content with my small armada/collection of AKG K712's, Sennheiser HD 600's (although hubby pretty much stole those for himself :P ), and Audio Technica ATH-M50X's.

One of these days I might even buy a pair of Mr.Speakers Ether's (or the Ether C's, probably the C's), and maybe the AKG K812's too, but man those are pricy headphones.

I've been picking the M50 for a while and wasn't quite happy of the result.. But those are in my opinion more worthy than my old studio beats, haha. Each their own. ^w^

And that's one of the.... We'll call it "beauty" aspects of the audio world... While there are plenty of headphones out there, and each one has their own style of sound, everyone not only hears things differently, but of course we all have different preferences. With the ATH-M50(X)'s, they're absolutely wonderful for mixing DnB and hardstyle while djing, but for a lot of music (and gaming) they just seem to be missing something (which frequency graphs will show as them having a "v" shape to their sound, or in other words, they over-emphasize the bass and highs, while having a noticeable dip in the mids)

Some have called me crazy for preferring the sound of my AKG K712's over the Sennheiser HD 600's, but for most of the music I listen to, they just work better for me. And assuming I get the headband on right the first time, they're more comfortable for me to wear for long periods of time ^_^;;;
