Ref Sheet 6: Hasky
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Ah... my precious, fluffy, squishy and beautiful Hasky... I wouldn't have Husky if it wasn't for her. Hasky was also one of the first characters I created before D.E1 existed. As mentioned in Husky's bio, 15 years ago, before D.E1 as we know it, Hasky was a not-so regular character in my anthro comic which featured Husky. She just appeared a couple of times, and Husky was actually... well, they weren't related. Later on I played with the idea of making them siblings because of how identical they are, but in the end, Hasky ended up being Husky's "Life Giver" (compound word used by Retcans and Evos do refer to a mother or father). It was always meant to be that way, and whatever happened before D.E1, never existed.
I have to admit that Hasky's appearance has changed very little to none, just like Husky. Her fur pattern and tone has gone through various adjustments, as well as her eyes and skin, but other than that, Hasky's appearance will only vary on my ever-evolving art skills. Ultimately, I decided to make her and Husky as identical as possible, while keeping a few characteristic traits not really noticeable at first glance. This holds a very special meaning to me, which I will explain in a future drawing. It has something to do with making all those differences we see within each others as humans, whether is gender or relationship, completely irrelevant, meaningless and non-existent when it comes to my characters. A way to express how different they are to us, but also how beautiful that makes them. I must confess... Hasky to me is, despite she has a different behavior and story than Husky, she is indirectly a female version of Husky. Deep inside, it is what she represents. I will explain further in my next drawing.
Anyway... On to the Bio:
"Hasky is an exceptional Evocanis. She not only survived both attacks to Canis Major, but also endured a horrific event during the first counter-offensive against Project Apocalypse which almost took her life. She has seen it all; ups and downs that Evocanis as a species have faced. She, as many veteran Evocanis is the pure representation of the resilience of their race. Despite these hardships, she as her brothers and sisters, never has lost that purity and gentleness that is so unique to them.
Hasky is often represented as a very strong, intelligent and experienced Evocanis when not being her normal "goofy," playful and loving Evocanis self. She is looked after by her pups, Fx and Husky as not only their best friend, sister Evocanis and Life Giver, but also as their hero. Both of her pups have certainly shown how her strength has been infused in them, demonstrating the prowess of facing Apocalypse head on and surviving despite the odds.
Hasky was not always like this though. During the first attack, she was a very young and not fully grown Evocanis when she and her brother Shamu lost their whole family to Apocalypse. She was always very frightened and sought refuge in her brother. It took years for her to finally overcome that trauma, not after meeting those who would be their best friends. These Evocanis were Fibi, Xy and Chuksha; the latter who would eventually become the Life Giver of her twins.
Following Shamu's teachings, she started to lose fear and feel confident on her strength. It was not until the second attack when this was placed to test... Unfortunately, once again the cold metallic clutches of Apocalypse took not only her friends Fibi, Xy and Chuksha, but also her brother Shamu.
There was something in Hasky that awoke deep in her. It was the strength and drive to survive. She was broken and beaten, but she would do whatever she could to protect her friend's pup, Fx and her own unborn twins. It was a fierce fight... Hasky had done the impossible, but Apocalypse was too strong for them back then. cornered, Hasky dropped to the ground exhausted. She used her body as a shield to protect Fx... If that machine would impale her, she begged that it did it fast and that it get Fx too so the pup wouldn't be left alone to the mercy of that monster. they would go together as Evocanis brothers... If that Retcan warrior would've come across Hasky one second later, she wouldn't have made it. She was saved. Little Fx was fine thankfully, and Husky was born a week later after the event. Unfortunately, due to the trauma, Hasky's second pup did not make it...
Hasky in her normal life is like any other Evocanis of her kind. She and Husky share a lot in common, being often very energetic, playful, inquisitive, sometimes dorky and overall a fluff ball of pure love just like her pup. Back in Canis Major, Hasky often works as a counselor, helping other Evo brothers overcome the trauma of loss and the horrors of the attacks to Canis Major. As an Evocanis Warrior that she is, Hasky is everything a leader should be. Soon after her arrival as a new D.E Team member, she rapidly made her way into the higher ranks. Hasky is second in command at the D.E cruiser. Her adventure as a Evo warrior has barely started, but all of her friends now now that she is an invaluable addition to the team."

Anyways, I another amazing ref here! And although Hasky and Husky are very similar, I can definitely see some distinct differences. (Aside from color variations, she also looks "softer" to me, ever so slightly.) ^^
As for Hasky herself, looking great alongside the others, nice work! To think Hasky has changed so much from when she was originally created, just goes to show how much an idea can grow and alter.
I can't wait to see these future drawings you describe.
Excellent bio too! :)
