Rissanivi Salnuano
[b]From my novel series, "[i]Daggers of Darkness[/i]":[/b]
Here's Rissanivi ("Rissa") Salnuano, a saucy, cold-blooded reptilian with a [i]very[/i] warm heart. The Question is, who is going to keep her warm at night? ;)
I'm not 100% sure when she's going to be introduced in the story--either towards the end of the current book (#2) or in the next (#3), though she's shaping up to be a fun character! :-D
The blue on her head is body paint, kind of like make-up for her people, in case you're wondering.
I'm still working out the details and background on her, though no other abilities other than she has extensive knowledge of the part of the galaxy the gang are in. I'll try to get a character sheet drawn up and posted on her soon.
I used a combination of colored pencils, ink, and digital coloring and effects on this piece. Text was added using Publisher.

That's when you have to get her warmed up first. At least with Rissa, you can put her in a heated waterbed and she'll get warmed up. ;)
My first scaly was drawn back in the 1980's after an all-to-real dream. I've got her posted on here (well, most of her--it's actually a full-length drawing, but all of it won't fit in a scanner)...

Dragons...the Drakkorians on Y'Nahra (from "[i]The Sacrifice for Peace[/i]") in their regular form are 100+ feet long, and gave rise to the myths of dragons. In their "smaller" form (as they put it), they're still tall (okay, so they would make Shauna Eriksson look like a midget). Here's an early rendition of one, though I may redraw her...

(Edit) [b]SPOILER ALERT:[/b]The world of Y'Nahra--long thought to just be a mythical world in a story--ends up being "discovered" (with help) by the crews of [i]Nightwing[/i] and [i]Se'nika[/i].
Now, Rissanivi and her people, being aliens from another part of the galaxy, evolved differently than Terran reptiles--whole different mindset and responses to situations due to a different evolutionary path. :)
