I don't know much about the breed but he certainly looks like a sweetheart! And he is just as cute as you made him out to be.

I got him accidentally.

I was looking for one and wanted one, but hadn't tried too hard. And then this woman (customer) comes into my store and while we're talking, she asks if I know anyone who was looking to adopt. It was perfect!

That's not an accident. An accident would be a stray cat giving birth in your garage.

Well what would you call it, then? :-P

I just met a boxer earlier today while buying dog food at Petsmart. Very loving and charming dogs -- I never would have imagined -- and they can jump straight up on all fours really high. That cracks me up. Yeah, looks like you've got a good buddy there to share treats and generally enjoy life...

Really a carefree sleeper too! ;)

Yeah...they look like they would be meaner or more dangerous dogs...

But they are SUPER sweet and loving.

Adopting a unwanted pet is always a win XD

And luckily, his "mommy" loved him, too. She just couldn't keep him because of her circumstances.

So he came to be well trained and very well taken care of. And she thought I was a great fit for him.

That's a similar situation to how I got my rescue Doberman. I lost my Doberman I had to leukemia about 2 years ago. About a month later a co-worker called me on my day of and asked me if I knew anyone that wanted a Doberman. A friend of his had to get rid of there's because his daughter had injured her arm(not because of the dog) and had her arm pinned up and in a cast. They were worried that he would hurt her unintentionally. So they called me.

Is he happy in his new home with you?

Those are the worst. He will constantly try to get food out of you with those sad puppy eyes.

boxers? if it is, those dogs have a bad rap for no good reason. he's a cutie

You have no idea.

Boxers, among people who actually KNOW things about dog breeds, and don't just go "Oh no! It's a big dog! It's dangerous." will tell you that Boxers are one of the gentlest, friendliest, and most loyal breeds in the world.

My best friend knows a lot about that, and told me the other day that there are many recent breeds (recent meaning newer than boxers), that, when bred, had boxers mixed in specifically to make them nicer.

oh no, i understood. no biggie. the biggest problem is that a lot of pure boxers are forced to birth via Cesarean section because of the pup's muzzle shape, which is unfortunate.

I had no clue about that.

As you may be able to see from the pic...he is intact, and I have actually considered maybe letting him make some puppies someday. So I'll keep that in mind for if I want him to be with another boxer for it. Though, I think it might be fun to have a Boxer / Golden Retriever. Both very loving dogs ^_^

indeed. inbreeding and dogs have an unhappy relationship. Cavalier King Charles have so many problems with them they are basically doomed to a premature death

I don't know about them...but I know that Shitzus and French Bull dogs have breathing problems because of their muzzle size...and I was told that some little dog (but I forget which) can't be tapped too hard on the back of the head, or its eyes can pop out O.o

Why not drugs, WITH the dog?

Well...I don't HAVE any drugs, anyway, so...

...damn you and your ability to have pets...now I have the overwhelming urge to snuggle something T_T.

Out of the choices given, yes, this is probably the healthiest. Playing with a pet relieves a hell of a lot of stress and the added company is nice as well.

Probably not. It looks like I'm gonna' need all my money just to make the move happen.
