Sleepover Buddies

In lieu of stars and moons, patterns in their image, reflecting the pale light of the moon. Few things beat a sleepover, and for a mattress, one could do worse than the breast pocket of a friend, held close to their heart in an embrace of warmth and safety. It was rare to find a night cool enough for hoodies and thick, silken blankets, but this was just it; Alef felt lucky not just for that, but to be in such pleasant company, and at a size where, at any time, his sizable friend could simply lean back and stroke the little one’s fur while they chatted the evening away.
Despite his penchant for exploring, Alef was content to stay in one place, at least for a night.
