Christy parked her slightly beat-up 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid in the driveway of a small suburban bungalow (where she had lived alone since moving out of her parents' house more than three years ago). She took a modest purchase from the trunk of the car and a costume from that strange store from the back seat. She unlocked the front door and stepped inside, instinctively feeling the light switch next to the door with her left hand and flicking it, and after a while, a dim light spread across the only large room in the house that served as both her living room and bedroom. Christy closed the door behind her and locked it. She pulled the heavy curtains to cover the door and the only window in the room next to it.
She placed the bag with the packed costume on the sofa bed and with her modest purchase (which also included dinner), which Christy bought at another location in the same older, slightly neglected small shopping center in which she bought the costume (the old center lost its luster and glory when, more than ten years ago, they built a larger, more modern and well-equipped shopping center in another and much more accessible place by car, at that time).
She went to the kitchen and took out dinner from the shopping. She removed the top protective film from the packaging and turned it out onto a plate, which she then put in the microwave to warm up her dinner.


After finishing her meager dinner, Christy returned to the living room where she left the costume bag on the sofa. She took the costume out of the bag and unpacked it on the floor of the room. In front of her, as she had already noticed in the store, was a costume, in the form of a full-body suit made of latex and rubber. There was something very special about it that caught her attention even before she bought it. Christy therefore examined it very carefully, so as not to miss even the smallest detail, because she simply didn't have time to do so before buying it.
The suit looked like an anthropomorphic Eevee, whose insides had been removed, leaving only the empty skin. Its coloring was for the most part similar to the coloring of a normal Eevee, that is, light brown and sandy yellow. Except for a few places, such as the lower half of the left leg, the tip of the tail, the entire right hand, a spot around the entire left eye, and the right ear, they had the gray coloring of a shiny Eevee. She also noticed that the lenses in the suit's head were completely heteronomous, the right one being hazel-brown and the left one being gray (it was only later, when it was all over, that Christy learned that a colored individual in this way, in which the color of a normal and shiny Eevee is mixed to varying degrees, is called a semi-shiny and that it is even rarer than a gray-colored shiny Eevee).


Christy was impressed by the suit, especially its genderless design and the level of detail that had been put into it. At first, she was hesitant to touch the suit too much for fear of damaging it. When she touched it, she found that it was durable enough to withstand a little rough handling.
On the back, where she expected, she found a cleverly hidden zipper. Without thinking, Christy felt the zipper runner and pulled it down. After pulling the zipper down to the root of the tail and expanding the gap that was created. Christy smelled a strange smell from inside the costume… something between the synthetic chemical smell of rubber and latex, and an animal smell…
