A Beautiful Girl
Ah! There you are Sascha! It’s about time I saw you here in my gallery. Yes viewers, this is Sascha, one of the many, many pets I’ve had on my little farm. Sascha’s a special girl though. Smart as a whip, the cream of the crop, the bells to my whistles, she’s the girl. This border collie/chow mix of a lady has quite an amazing backstory as well. Like almost all of our pets, our animals have been either rescued, adopted or otherwise picked up off the side of the street in favor of giving them quite a lovely new home. Sascha was a wily lady though. She evaded our efforts to catch her and her litter of puppies for quite some time. She lived on the streets in my homely little mountain town, crossing the bustling highway each and every day in search of food for both her puppies and her fellow traveling companion, also a stray traveler like herself. For a while, she and her litter of pups bedded down at a local waterfall only a few miles from my farm. Eventually, what allowed for her capture was not some newfangled animal trap or bait, but the fact that her companion was struck by a car and immobilized on the side of the road. She wouldn’t leave his side and that was what allowed us to snag her. Don’t worry though, this story has a wonderfully happy ending. Her buddy made a full recovery and was taken in with a friend of ours while Sascha herself was given the pleasure of roaming on our 15-acre farm for her enjoyment. She’s a special girl and she’s been around the block once or twice, I gotta say.
