Consolidated B-24D Liberator Tail Gun - USAF Museum 04-18-2017
Plenty of debate about whether the B-17 or B-24 was better, but both shared some serious defensive armament. This is the rear tail gunner position. All he had to do was sit there and fend off fighters rolling in behind the plane to shoot it down.
