Here was a rarity of a sight; while hardly regional locked when it came to locals, Wes was no doubt interested in having such and asset on his side. True was it that he had a more then faithful and loyal Espeon at his side, he could never discount the notion of 'the more the merrier'.
"Hm."
The outlaw would try a direct but earnest approach and hold a plentiful number of berries in his hands as a sort of lure to possibly attract the powerful mental Pokemon towards his direction, "Got to be hungry from carrying around all that brain power, yeah?"
He spoke out loud enough to be heard, "How about a snack to hold you over?" His mind could be read at any point here so he made no effort to hide his intentions of befriending the other, after all even if it rejected his notion in the end Wes...simply loved interacting with the species.
"...?"
The gesture and the voice did attract the Pokémon's attention, and they did look in his direction, albeit they didn't approach him just yet. Amidst this Pokémon, there were a good handful of different Abras, and then there were Kadabras, with at least one fully evolved Alazakam in the mix. Well, that seemed to be the case with Pokémon species; they were commonly found together...at times. That was the rare sight.
Sure, the berries were a good start.
The 4' 11" tall Pokémon eventually approached the blonde human male, while their gaze darted in between the man's face and then down to the berries in his hand. The Alakazam's pointed ears twitched at the sight. The man seemed friendly enough, that's for sure. The Pokémon stood a metre away from him, however. The Alakazam slanted its head, and held out one silver spoon towards the man as a kind gesture.
This must've been the leader of the group - the alpha basically; made sense considering this specific one seemed the strongest, or was it more so the wisest when it came to Alakazams? Regardless he would offer up a selection of those berries towards the spoon, keeping his mind calm and free of any doubt as he did so.
"You're doing a good job, looking after them all."
He envied that about Pokemon; while Wes knew not every human in the world was twisted, Pokemon wouldn't lie or manipulate you for some other gain; if they trusted you it was because it was earned, and they loved you before you showed that affinity in how they were treated and handled. Simplicity at times was best, at least in the Orre man's mind.
"I've plenty on me so don't be shy." He'd showcase additional berries from his bag, again to show he wasn't a threat.
The berries were a very colourful, vibrant selection. To add to that, there were currently no berry trees anywhere around this Psychic territory, so one would have to venture out to locate any. The Alakazam scooped up a green tanga berry from the mix, and soon slipped it into their mouth. Their eyes kept their gaze fixed on the Orre human, too, while they slowly chewed on the small green berry. Their long, elegant mustache swayed gently while they ate.
This caused the Alakazam to take another step closer, although it wasn't too close to evade the man's personal space. The Pokémon still held out a silver spoon towards Wes, offering it to him. Even though most Pokémon couldn't speak, or say anything other than their name, that didn't mean the Alakazams couldn't talk telepathically. The second silver spoon in the Alakazam's other hand proceeded to bend when they spoke.
"Thank you," they replied through thought transfer.
Their eyes scanned for potential pockets on Wes' long buttoned-up jacket, albeit couldn't find any. They didn't know where to put the silver spoon.
Recognising the attempt and offered up gift, Wes simply extended his hand to collect the silverware; there was a belt pack behind him that wasn't seen, the same that stored the colourful collection of berries he was using as a catalyst for communication right at that very moment.
"Think nothing of it. I like to think all Pokemon are friends I've yet to make, so helping out one or many for me is as about second-nature as breathing."
He retained his look of interest as he offered out a compliment, "I think that's an impressive mustache, Alakazam," he tapped his own upper lip, "I'm afraid I can't grow my own however." A soft joke was made, a light chuckle following behind.
At that joke, a laugh escaped their mouth, taking the compliment regarding their mustache. The lengthy mustache was a shade of yellow with the tips being white. It was natural, of course. Their eyes had a sparkle in them, too, showing a glimmer amongst those red hues.
"Are you offering friendship?"
But even without mentioning it, the offering of the Alakazam's spoon was enough to show trust, and it wasn't just any kind of spoon; it was magical.
Without the use of a silver spoon in their free hand, the Alakazam's hand was simply two fingers and a thumb. They picked a second berry from the collection; taking a blue coba berry this time. Their long, slender snout moved while they ate, in addition to the mustache. They were still slow.
Hearing an Alakazam laugh was nice, amusing in its own right and hopefully an event the Orre native might see again.
"That's the idea," Wes confirmed before tucking his gifted spoon away in his pouch in order to keep it nice and secure.
This particular pokemon had him vexed at the moment, was it a variation of the species? Between those alluring eyes and the already established stache, Wes couldn't identify any gender traits, common if not slight differences between the x and y genetic members of the egg group. He was observing the other intently while the berries were consumed; the trainer's eyes shifting to various body parts to try and aid that internal deduction of his.
"Hm.."
"...?"
The Alakazam's eyes widened in surprise, taking note of Wes exploring certain traits with his eyes. The Alakazam brought a hand forward and placed it under Wes' chin, using their two fingers to guide Wes' gaze back to meet their own. They blinked.
"Among the armour I wear, my gender isn't so difficult to tell. My mustache isn't long, either, even though it may appear long to you," they shared through thought transfer.
Brown armour concealed their torso and forearms, albeit not so much their legs or feet. Their shoulders were broad, sharp, but their waist was slender. Face was delicate, sharp points for their ears and cheeks. It wasn't really known amongst all Trainers that an Alakazams gender could be told apart by their mustache size.
He knew that intensive studying of his would get him found out, but once their eyes had locked and the information conveyed to Wes he began to stroke his chin in further thought, "I suppose that makes sense, but I still feel strongly that there's something specially unique about you." He meant that in the most positive of ways of course, gently tapping where his own set of eyes were to signal where he was looking.
"Never seen a Pokemon with such crystalline eyes before, almost made me think I was looking at a pair of radiant gem stones. They're..." What would be the proper word to use? "...honestly stunning. Beautiful even " That may have came across as more intimate then he realized but it was his sincere train of thought, "Sorry, must sound odd hearing a random human come out and say that." He'd chuckle at himself and scratch his own cheek, "Sometimes my bluntness gets the better of me.
Perhaps the eyes of a cat.
"As shiny as my spoons. I like my spoons," they answered telepathically, "I like this compliment."
In their Kadabra form, their eyes were well brought out with a purple star printed on their forehead. In their final form, however, their third eye was no longer visible. But perhaps their crystal eyes were their natural trait, uncommon to other Alakazams. The hand that was still held forward moved down, and the Alakazam brought their hand down to their side. No more touching.
Seeing as friendship had been established between them, this fully evolved Alakazam was eager to follow Wes just about anywhere. The Pokémon offered a smile; one of those smiles that showed their little sharp teeth. The silver spoon in their other hand shimmered with the natural light of the sun, and within a mere second, another spoon formed to replace the one that the Alakazam gave to Wes not so long ago.
"Would you like to go somewhere?"
"Wanting to follow me?" He repeated aloud more to absorb that reality for himself, "I can think of a few good locations we can head towards, but first.." Digging into that rear satchel of his yet again he revealed a silver crafted sphere in his possession that sweetly chimed with any strong movement; a Soothing Bell for Wes' newest comrade, "You gifted me one of your spoons so I think this bell would be a perfect return to you." That usual smirk was now a softer and warmer smile as he held the bell's silken sash with each hand, visually asking if he could secure it around the Alakazam's neck.
"May I?"
The Alakazam nodded, even took each end of the silken sash with their own hands, draping it around their neck just like their human friend wanted. The two silver spoons immediately vanished during the time the Alakazam took the collar.
Even as the bell's ribbon was draped around the Alakazam's neck, the bell chimed. The bell wasn't exactly tintinnabulation, but it still played a soothing musical melody when hit or reacting to movements. It was like a collar given to a pet, but to make them friendly instead. The collar went well with the Alakazam's cat-like face. And with the Alakazam's ability to read minds, they didn't really feel the need to display aggression.
Either way, the Alakazam stood a little close to Wes. There was a warm look in their eyes. Since they were nearly five feet in height, the Pokémon didn't need to look up that far.
"Thank you," they replied.
